Abstract

The service team targeted the Malang Regency Tourism and Culture Office as the organizer of activities in the tourism sector. The main task of the Department of Tourism and Culture is tourism promotion. Therefore, it is hoped that the ARCA application can be part of a tourism promotion strategy in Malang Regency. Candi Jago is chosen as the object of this application because on the main terrace of the temple there are Reliefs about fables that contain moral values for tourists. With the ARCA Application, tourists do not need to hesitate anymore to be able to visit Candi Jago because ARCA can help tourists to read the Reliefs found on the main terrace with 3-Dimensional AR (Augmented Reality) media in the form of animated videos. The methods used are the online lecture method, the online question and answer method, and the online demonstration method. The results of the evaluation of the outreach, the ARCA application is still limited and available on the Play Store and cannot be downloaded on the App Store, because during the application trial, there were participants who asked why on their smartphone they could not download the application. Meanwhile, another obstacle is that your smartphone does not support being able to download the ARCA application because it requires an upgrade to the latest version.

Abstract

Al Falah Islamic Boarding School was founded in 1989 as one of the first Muhammadiyah Islamic Boarding Schools in Gorontalo consisting of Madrasah Tsanawiyah and Madrasah Aliyah. Based on data on daily activities carried out at the Al Falah Islamic Boarding School, it is still not visible that there are maximum literacy activities held every day, of course this has more or less had an impact on the scientific level of Al Falah students because literacy is one of the basic foundations of an educational activity. Good literacy activities can have an impact on good academic achievement and awareness of education. Literacy activities must of course implement a good system in all aspects of the activity, not least of which must be supported by adequate facilities. However, facilities in the form of infrastructure, especially reading books or other educational supporting books, are not yet fully available in the Al Falah library. This should be used as one of the Islamic boarding school's superior programs and as a culture that must be continuously developed and renewed. As a solution, community service was carried out using socialization method to the ustadz and ustadzah caretakers of the Al-Falah Islamic Boarding School to create a reading corner program as a means of literacy for students at Al Falah Islamic Boarding School. Not only reading corners, other literacy methods have also been designed in this community service program.

Abstract

Abstract

The study compares the creative thinking skills of vocational high school students who experience Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and Problem-Based Learning (PBL) instructional processes in Software Development subjects. The research was conducted at one of Malang City, Indonesia’s information technology primary vocational high schools (SMK TI). The study used a randomised pretest-posttest control group design experimental research design. The research group was divided into two groups, namely the experimental group (PjBL) and the control group (PBL), where each group consisted of 36 students. The data generated in the study was obtained by conducting a test of creative thinking skills. A comparative analysis of creative thinking skills data in the experimental and control groups was performed using Wilcoxon’s Test. Comparative analysis of pre-test data in the experimental (M=72.36; SD=9.29) and control (M=70.97; SD=9.39) groups resulted in a p-value of more than 0.05. It means there are no differences in pre-test scores between the two groups. In contrast, the p-value for post-test data from the experimental (M=94.02; SD=4.27) and control (M=86.80; SD=6.98) groups was less than 0.01. It means there are no differences in post-test scores between the two groups. Comparative analysis of pre-test and post-test data from the experimental group resulted in z(35)=5.26; p < 0,01; d=3.00. Comparative analysis of pre-test and post-test data from the control group resulted in z(35)=5.26; p < 0,01; d=1.91. According to the findings of the analysis, PjBL and PBL impact students’ creative thinking skills. Compared with effect size, the  PjBL effect is more significant than PBL.
