Abstract

This dedication motivated by the lack of numeracy ability of most students in Indonesia. So it needs a certain method or technique that can help students in counting quickly and accurately. By providing a method or technique is expected to help students calculate quickly and accurately as well as to empower the maximum brain potential in counting. The purpose of this dedication is to build the basic concepts of students in arithmetic and foster creative ideas through the techniques provided. This workshop was held in SDN Sasi Kefamenanu East Nusa Tenggara within 3 (three) days and involved 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students respectively 15, 15, and 20 student. The First day of Workshop is pre-test and multiplication base 10, second day of workshop is multiplication base 100 and 50. The third day of workshop is multiplication base 20 and post-test. The result of this dedication is that although not of many student are able to solve multiplication with this method but the students have been excited in counting, especially for multiplication operation. For further it is better to do this workshop again for the teacher so that the teachers can do multiplication based on our workshop and forward it to the students.

Abstract

Abstract :This study aims to develop learning media for calculus based on the local wisdom of Timor Island with the implementation of Scilab. In addition, the research conducted simulations and compared the conventional methods and Scilab programming language to solve calculus problems. It is crucial to provide knowledge and insight to students to perform various types of simulations related to mathematics using Scilab or other open-source-based programming languages, besides the students become accustomed to solving mathematical problems with the help of programming languages. Twenty-three students of the Department of Mathematics Education in the University of Timor participated in this study to define, design, and develop a learning media in the form of handouts and powerpoints. The subject experts assessed the developed media as "excellent" in the aspect of content and language and "good" for the presentation. Meanwhile, the media experts gave an "excellent" rating for each aspect. Then after the media was tested on students, the media got “excellent” rating for each aspect.Abstrak :Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis kearifan lokal pulau Timor pada mata kuliah Kalkulus dengan implementasi Scilab. Selain itu pada penelitian ini akan dilakukan simulasi dengan menggunakan Scilab dan melakukan perbandingan penyelesaian masalah-masalah kalkulus yang dilakukan dengan metode konvensional dan metode pembelajaran dengan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman Scilab. Penelitian ini sangat penting untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan wawasan kepada mahasiswa untuk melakukan berbagai jenis simulasi yang berkaitan dengan matematika yang menggunakan media Scilab atau bahasa pemrograman lainnya yang berbasis open-source, selain itu para mahasiswa menjadi terbiasa menyelesaikan masalah matematika dengan bantuan bahasa pemrograman. Penelitian ini melibatkan 23 orang mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Timor. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan langkah-langkah penelitian ini adalah define, design, dan development. Penelitian ini mengembangkan media yang berupa handout dan powerpoint. Adapun hasil yang diperoleh dari media yang dikembangkan mendapatkan penilaian “sangat baik” untuk aspek isi dan bahasa serta penilaian “baik” untuk aspek penyajian dari ahli materi. Sedangkan dari ahli media mendapatkan penilaian “sangat baik” untuk setiap aspek. Kemudian setelah media diujikan kepada mahasiswa, media mendapatkan respon “sangat baik” dari setiap aspek penilaian.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kegiatan pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan dan meningkatkan pemahaman siswa/siswi anak berkebutuhan khusus tentang bangun datar, kubus, dan balok. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di SDLB Negeri Benpasi Kefamenanu yang berada di Kelurahan Benpasi, Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara, Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur. Yang menjadi peserta dalam kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah 15 orang siswa/siswi SDLB Negeri Benpasi Kefamenanu. Pelaksanaan pelatihan ini terdiri dari dua tahap: tahap pra kegiatan dan kegiatan. Tahap pra kegiatan dilakukan melalui pelaksanaan survey awal untuk mengetahui gambaran pembelajaran matematika anak berkebutuhan khusus jenjang sekolah dasar serta kendala yang dialami. Tahap kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui pelatihan dan evaluasi. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan angket tanggapan peserta. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi diperoleh informasi bahwa kegiatan pelatihan ini mendapatkan tanggapan yang positif dari peserta. Melalui pelatihan penggunaan media pembelajaran fun math yang disajikan, cukup menambah pengetahuan dan wawasan peserta yang dalam hal ini anak berkebutuhan khusus sehingga termotivasi untuk terus belajar guna peningkatan kemampuan akademik peserta di bidang matematika.Abstract: This training activity aimed to introduce and improve understanding of children with special needs about flat shapes, cubes, and blocks. This activity was carried out at the SDLB Negeri Benpasi Kefamenanu, located in Benpasi Village, North Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. The participants in this training activity were 15 students of SDLB Negeri Benpasi Kefamenanu. The implementation of this training consisted of two stages: pre-activity and activity stages. The pre-activity stage was carried out through the implementation of an initial survey to find out the description of mathematics learning for children with special needs at the elementary school level and the obstacles experienced. The activity stage was carried out through training and evaluating. The evaluation was carried out using a participant response questionnaire. Based on the evaluation results, it can be obtained information that this training activity received a positive response from the participants. Through training in the use of fun math learning media, it is sufficient to increase the knowledge and insight of participants, in this case children with special needs, so that they are motivated to continue learning in order to improve the participants' academic abilities in the field of mathematics.Keywords: Learning Media; Children With Special Needs; Fun Math

Abstract

GUIDING AND TRAINING OF MATHEMATICAL REASONING: CBT QUESTIONS FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. The spread of the Covid-19 outbreak in Indonesia has disrupted the education sector, especially in the learning process for high school students of class XII who will face various exams to enter state universities. The solution offered to continue the learning process during this pandemic is to carry out online distance learning from their residences. The purpose of this community service activity is ordering that student at SMA Negeri 1 Kefamenanu are able to recognize and master strategies to answer UTBK questions with mathematical reasoning, and solve these problems with good time management. This is very important, considering that students are not used to completing TKA and TPS UTBK questions during learning at school. The method of implementation in this community service activity is in the form of guidance and training for all students of class XII Science, XII Social Studies, and XII Language SMA Negeri 1 Kefamenanu. Activities are carried out in the form of guidance and training using an online system through the zoom application for one month. The online system is carried out in order to minimize the spread of Covid-19 among students. From the calculation results, it is obtained that the pre-test average is smaller than the post-test average so it can be concluded that guidance and training on mathematical reasoning for the types of UTBK questions has succeeded in improving better results for students, especially as preparation for facing UTBK, which results will be used to follow SBMPTN 2021. Besides that, the participation rate (attendance) of participants in each meeting is more than 90% of the total students.

Abstract

Pendidikan di era 4.0 memberikan dampak dalam proses pembelajaran setelah sebelumnya hanya memanfaatkan media seadanya saja dari pengajar, dimana dengan perkembangan teknologi harus dapat memanfaatkan fasilitas internet dan dapat menunjang kompetensi mahasiswa secara teori dan praktek. Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan mengembangkan media berbahasa pemrograman open-source dengan penerapan computational thinking. Oleh karena itu tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membuat media berbahasa pemrograman open-source dengan penerapan computational thinking dan untuk mengetahui efektivitas dari media yang dikembangkan terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode R & D serta penelitian eksperimental dengan subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Timor yang memrogram matakuliah Kalkulus Lanjut T.A. 2021/2022. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi ahli materi dan ahli media, angket respon mahasiswa, serta soal pre-test dan post-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media yang dikembangkan mendapatkan penilaian “sangat baik” dari ahli materi dan ahli media serta dari mahasiswa. Sebagai tambahan, terdapat peningkatan hasil tes mahasiswa sebesar 91,36 setelah diberikan perlakuan meskipun mahasiswa cenderung kurang mendapatkan penekanan pada tahap persevering. Kesimpulannya, media yang dikembangkan efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa.

Abstract

Menurut hasil PIRLS dan PISA tahun 2019 kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa masih sangat rendah. Begitu juga berdasarkan wawancara kepada guru kelas di SMP Negeri Maubeli bahwa masih rendahnya kemampuan awal siswa terkait literasi numerasi matematika tersebut berdasarkan nilai AKM yang diperoleh siswa tahun 2022. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri Maubeli kelas VII. Adapun tujuan pengadian ini adalah agar siswa terbiasa dan termotivasi dalam belajar terkait soal matematika berbasis literasi numerasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah dengan melakukan pelatihan dan pendampingan terkait pengerjaan soal matematika berbasis literasi numersi. Pengabdian dilaksanakan selama 2 hari dan siswa diberikan pelatihan pengerjaan soal-soal matematika berbasis literasi numerasi sebanyak 20 soal. Kegiatan  ini berlangsung  dengan tertib,  terlihat  antusias  anak-anak  dengan  metode  pembelajaran  yang  inovatif  dan menyenangkan sehingga tidak membuat anak-anak cepat bosan dalam kegiatan pelatihan. Berdasarkan angket respon siswa dapat dinyatakan bahwa siswa sangat senang dan termotivasi selama mengikuti pelatihan.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pemilihan program studi yang tepat merupakan salah satu faktor yang dapat mendukung kelulusan siswa pada Seleksi Bersama Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (SBMPTN) dan Seleksi Nasional Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (SNMPTN). Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan suatu kegiatan yang dapat menunjang kelulusan siswa. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk melakukan pendampingan pemilihan program studi perguruan tinggi negeri (PTN) pada 130 orang siswa kelas XII SMAN 2 Kefamenanu. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan melakukan pendampingan. Tahapan kegiatan ini antara lain melakukan koordinasi dengan pihak sekolah, mengurus administrasi kegiatan seperti surat izin dan surat tugas, melaksanakan kegiatan, dan terakhir melakukan pelaporan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis angket pengetahuan awal dan akhir diperoleh bahwa terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan para siswa terkait kegiatan pengabdian ini, yaitu sebesar 21.34% dan juga terdapat perubahan dalam pemilihan program studi sebesar 4.61%. Kesimpulannya, setelah kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan sebagian besar peserta kegiatan telah memahami dengan baik mengenai hal-hal yang perlu diperhatikan dalam pemilihan program studi pada PTN di Indonesia.Abstract: The selection of the right study program is one of factors that can support student success in the Joint Selection for State Higher Education Entrance (SBMPTN) and the National Selection for State University Entrance (SNMPTN) which are a series of college entrance tests. Therefore, we need an activity that can support student success. The objectives of this community service activity is to assist in the selection of state university study programs for 130 students of grade 12th of SMAN 2 Kefamenanu. The method used in this service is to provide assistance. The stages of this service activity include coordinating with the school, taking care of the administration of activities such as permit and assignment letters, carrying out service activity, and finally reporting. Based on the analysis of initial and final knowledge questionnare, it was found that there was an increase in students’ knowledge regarding this service activity, which was 21.34% and there was also a change in the selection of study programs by 4.61%. In conclusion, after the community service activity was carried out, most of the participants who were the students of grade 12th of SMAN 2 Kefamenanu had a good understanding of the things that needed to be considered in the selection of study programs at State University in Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat efektifitas penggunaan e-Modul terhadap hasil belajar dan keaktifaan mahasiswa pada mata kuliah aljabar linier elementer. E-modul yang dimaksud dalam penelitian ini merupakan modul yang menarik dan dibuat secara digital yang mudah diakses dimanapun dan meningkatkan minat baca mahasiswa dengan tampilan yang bagus dan ditambahkan dengan soal dan quiz yang menyenangkan. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi dan hasil tes mahasiswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa e-modul yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran aljabar linier elementer dinyatakan efektif, ditinjau dari ketuntasan belajar peserta didik secara klasikal yaitu sebesar 90% peserta didik tuntas dengan memperoleh nilai ? 70 dan hasil belajar menggunakan perhitungan N-Gain dengan rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,8607 berada pada kategori “tinggi” serta keefektifan penggunaan e-modul didukung dengan uji t-paired test dengan nilai sig atau p-value yaitu 0,001 < 0,05. Sedangkan hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa sebesar 71,67% dengan kategori sangat aktif, 25% dengan kategori aktif dan sebesar 3,33% dengan kategori cukup aktif.

Abstract

The problem is that there is disequilibrium between old knowledge and new knowledge which makes mathematics education students difficult to study material on systems of linear equations in elementary linear algebra courses. Therefore, they need media that can facilitate old knowledge and new knowledge so that knowledge is equilibrium. One of the media that can be used is the advanced organizer student worksheet. The aim of this research is to produce an advance organizer model student worksheet that is valid, practical and effective. This research is development research using the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation). At the analysis stage, needs analysis, material analysis and learning environment analysis are carried out. At the design stage, an LKM is created which has four characteristics, namely identity, presentation of an advance organizer, presentation of the main material and practice questions to strengthen the schema or cognitive structure. Then at the development stage, the LKM that has been designed is validated by experts. Then at the implementation stage, small trials are carried out to get practical LKM and large class trials to get effective LKM. Then the evaluation stage concerns the things that need to be evaluated in the LKM. After going through this research stage, the results were conclude that 87.72% valid, 94.84% practical and 59% effective for student learning outcomes.
