Abstract

The Borowetan site has only been exposed in a small part, which is a brick structure on the east side. So that through this data, it is very difficult to reveal its historical background, especially when it is related to the history of the ancient Mataram kingdom. Although this site is located close to the discovery of the Kayu Ara Hiwang inscription, it is still difficult to relate it to the inscription. In the inscription, it is mentioned that there is a sacred building complex (parhyangan) that must be cared for by the villagers of Kayu Ara Hiwang. However, the sacred building is located in Pariwutan. If it is true that Pariwutan is now Pulutan Village which is in Ngombol District - as said by MM Sukarto K. Atmodjo - it means that the brick structure is not part of a sacred building as mentioned in the Kayu Ara Hiwang inscription.

Abstract

From the beginning of its establishment, Majapahit could not escape the actions of the political elites who tried to break the unity of the Majapahit kingdom. This is due to their dissatisfaction with the king's leadership or dissatisfaction with the position they received. When Raden Wijaya had become king he was abandoned by some of his colleagues at the time of facing Jayakatwang and Kubhilai Khan's army. Although they had obtained high positions but some of them were not satisfied with the awards or positions given by the king. Ranggalawe who was not appointed as a patih (duke), was against the king so there was a war called Paranggalawe in 1217 C (1295 AD).

Abstract

A site located in Candi, Menoreh Village, Salaman District, Magelang Regency was looted. The residents call the site as Wurung Temple, because it is considered as an unfinished temple. Several years ago the site, which was located on land belonging to Hadi Prayitno, was excavated by a group of people. The local community did not know their origin and the purpose of the excavation. Only word of mouth got out that their goal was to find treasure. Whether they found it or not, they just left the excavated hole. The site was abandoned after the illegal excavation took place. The land owner did not even know what he was going to do, so that the rice field, which was actually productive, was left without planting anything.

Abstract

In this paper, it is hoped that this does not merely present survey techniques on open sites which may have been discussed by many experts and have been applied to archaeological researches in Indonesia. However, it is also hoped that they will be able to find alternatives to the application of appropriate survey techniques for an archaeological research. For this reason, it is suggested that there are specific themes in archaeological research, so that it is not just artefactual research.

Abstract

At the time when the Hindu kingdoms were still in power in Indonesia, the establishment of sima was often associated with the services that the people of a village had given to their king. To commemorate this event, a sacred building was erected, and the village community concerned was obliged to maintain it. Due to the burden of maintaining the sacred building, the village community was exempted from the obligation to pay taxes to the king. A building that was recently found in Dukuh Centong, Sawentar Village, Kanigoro District, Blitar Regency is possibly an example of a building that is a memorial to an important event during the Majapahit era. Although the building is not very big, it is very interesting to study, especially if it is related to its historical background and rare architectural form.

Abstract

We always expect the ideal both in the implementation of development and in the management of archaeological resources. However, the reality on the ground is that these ideal expectations cannot always be fulfilled, on the contrary, the worst things happen. Development does not always have a positive impact, often development has a negative impact on efforts to conserve archaeological resources. .

Abstract

Lwah inalih haken is a sentence contained in the Ciwagreha inscription, which means the river is moved. The transfer of the river flow is carried out because the place through which the river will pass will be built a sacred building complex (temple). The sacred building referred to in the Ciwagreha inscription is associated with the Rara Jonggrang temple complex in Prambanan. Indeed, the one that best fits the cluster of temples as described in the inscription is Candi Rara Jonggrang. If this is true, it means that the river that has been displaced is the Opak River which is located west of the temple. The problem is whether in reality the Opak River. Have you experienced a river flow change? The title above appears due to the fact that the third page of the Rara Jonggrang Temple complex is not as concentric as the other two pages, but is slightly inclined as if to. avoid streams. So that the question arises whether the river was moved or the third page?
