Abstract

Bangkok and Pelung chicken were chickens that are quite popular in Indonesia. One of the breeding programs was to increase meat production could be done through crossbreeding. This study aims to determine the success rate of artificial insemination of crossbreeds of male Bangkok chickens with Pelung hens. The research material used was four male Bangkok chickens aged one year and six female Pelung chickens. This study consisted of four phases: raising chickens, collecting Semen from Bangkok males, artificial insemination of Bangkok males with Pelung hen chickens, and hatching eggs from artificial insemination. The parameters observed in this study were egg weight, fertility, hatchability, DOC weight, and the correlation between egg weight and DOC weight. Data were analyzed using quantitative analysis. The research conducted has obtained an average egg weight of 46.21 grams, 66.67% fertility, 78.57% hatchability of DOC weight 36 grams, and a correlation between egg weight and DOC weight of 0.93%. The research concluded that the results of crossing Bangkok males with Pelung hens could increase hatching egg weight, hatchability, and DOC weight.

Abstract

ABSTRAKKambing Peranakan Ettawa (PE) merupakan salah satu ternak penghasil daging yang pemanfaatannya masih sangat terbatas karena sifatnya yang kurang disukai, yaitu bau khas yang tajam disebabkan komponen protein larut air dan konsentrasi asam lemak yang tinggi.  Salah satu cara yang bisa ditempuh adalah degan melakukan pengolahan daging kambing berupa produk Abon dengan menggunakan metode pemasakan dan lama penggorengan diharapkan mampu mengurangi bau prengus daging kambing.   Tujuan  penelitian  ini adalah mengetahui  sifat  kimia  (protein,  lemak,  abu, kadar  air  dan karbohidrat) abon daging PE dengan lama penggorengan yang berbeda, mengetahui lama penggorengan yang baik terhadap sifat kimia abon daging kambing PE.  Metode penelitian dengan melakukan analisis kimia dan analisis data dilakukan  secara  deskriptif  kuantitatif dengan parameter analisa yang dilakukan meliputi analisa Protein, Lemak, Karbohidrat, Kadar Air, Kadar Abu dengan lama penggorengan (A1=40 menit, A2=60 menit dan A3=75 menit.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kandungan gizi abon daging kambing dari ketiga perlakuan (A1, A2, A3) memiliki kandungan yang sebagian besar sudah memenuhi standard mutu SNI.  Kandungan gizi terbaik pada perlakuan A3 yakni Protein sebesar 45,63%, lemak terendah pada A3 sebesar 17,70%, karbohidrat terbaik pada A2 sebesar 10.13%, kandungan kadar air terendah pada A3 sebesar 1.43%, dan kadar abu terendah pada perlakuan A2 sebesar 6.78%.Kata kunci: Abon daging kambing, kimia abon, kambing PE, olahan dagingABSTRACTPeranakan Ettawa (PE) Goat is one of the meat-producing livestock whose utilization is still minimal due to its less preferred nature, namely sharp smell due to the water-soluble protein component and high fatty acid concentration. One way that can be taken is by processing goat meat in the form of Abon products using cooking methods, and deep frying is expected to reduce the smell of goat meat. The purpose of this study was to determine the chemical properties (protein, fat, ash, water content and carbohydrate) shredded PE meat with different frying lengths, to find out the excellent frying length of the chemical properties of shredded PE. The research method by carrying out chemical analysis and data analysis was carried out in a clear quantitative manner with the parameters of the study performed including analysis of Protein, Fat, Carbohydrate, Moisture, Ash Content with frying length (A1 = 40 minutes, A2 = 60 minutes and A3 = 75 minutes. The results showed that the nutrient content of shredded goat meat from the three treatments (A1, A2, A3) had content that most of them had met the SNI quality standards. The best nutritional content in treatment A3 was Protein at 45.63%, the lowest fat on A3 at 17, 70%, the best carbohydrate in A2 is 10.13%, the lowest water content in A3 is 1.43%, and the lowest ash content in A2 treatment is 6.78%.Keywords: shredded of goat meat, about chemical, PE goat, processed meat

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antar morfologi tubuh dengan bobot ayam Bangkok jantan, sebagai salahsatu bahan pertimbangan dalam menyeleksi dan menduga bobot badan ternak ayam Bangkok. Materi penelitian adalah Ayam Bangkok jantan sebanyak 30 ekor, umur 12 bulan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif (pengukuran). pengambilan sampel ayam Bangkok dilaksanakan dengan purposive sampling. Variabel yang diamati yaitu panjang shank (PS), Lebar Dada (LeDa), Lingkar shank (LiSi), Panjang Dada (PaDa), Panjang tibia (TiBi), Tinggi pundak (TiPu), Lingkar tibia (TiPi), Panjang Punggung (PaBa), Lingkar Dada (LiDa), Bobot Badan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi – korelasi. Nilai korelasi yang sangat lemah menunjukkan hampir tidak adanya korelasi antara variabel yang diamati, dari hasil penelitian ini didapatkan ada 3 variabel yang menunjukkan korelasi sangat lemah yaitu, bobot badan dengan panjang shank (0,20), panjang tibia (0,08) dan panjang badan (0,21). Korelasi yang rendah antara bobot badan dengan panjang shank, panjang tibia dan panjang badan mengindikasikan bahwa parameter tesebut tidak bisa menduga bobot badan pada ayam Bangkok jantan.

Abstract

Ayam Tolaki sebagai ayam lokal penghasil telur yang tinggi perlu disilangkan dengan ayam Pelung sebagai ayam lokal penghasil daging yang baik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengkaji “karakteristik penetasan hasil persilangan ayam Tolaki dan ayam Pelung”. Penelitian ini menggunakan ayam umur satu tahun, yaitu dua pejantan ayam Tolaki yang dikawinkan dengan empat ekor ayam Pelung. Parameter yang diamati pada penelitian ini berupa berat telur tetas, berat telur tetas hari ke 18, susut tetas (egg weight loss), fertilitas, daya tetas telur, bobot day old chick (DOC), korelasi bobot telur tetas dengan egg weight loss, korelasi bobot telur tetas dengan bobot DOC, korelasi egg weight loss dengan bobot DOC. Hasil persilangan ayam Pelung dengan ayam Tolaki memiliki rataan bobot telur tetas 54,57 gram, rataan berat telur tetas hari ke 18 yaitu 48,71 gram, dan rataan bobot DOC sebesar 35,41 gram. Adapun fertilitas mencapai 91,11%, daya tetas sebesar 87,80%, dan egg weight loss (susut tetas) sebesar 11,01%. Parameter egg weight loss menunjukkan korelasi sangat lemah dengan bobot telur tetas, berat telur hari ke 18, dan bobot DOC. Sedangkan parameter bobot telur tetas dan bobot DOC berkorelasi kuat dan positif serta berpengaruh nyata.

Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to assess the sustainability of Indonesian Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) during the Covid-19 pandemic. The specific object of this study was Reban Lestari Farm, an MSME of laying hens farm located in Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia.Methods: The study composed a qualitative and interpretive approach. Data were collected through interviews and observations, and data were analyzed by using a qualitative descriptive analysis.Results: Results show that the Covid-19 pandemic had significant effects on Indonesian MSMEs, but some MSMEs can survive and even grow despite the pandemic. Laying hens farm was one of the MSMEs that can survive and consistently grow during the Covid-19 pandemic as the commodity still has a high demand amongst consumers.Conclusions: The sustainability of an MSME can still be maintained with multiple business strategies, such as developing innovation and creative thinking to improve product quality and income.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of diluent in maintaining the quality of bull sperm during freezing and physiological processes of bull sperm that occur during freezing. This research was conducted by observing samples of frozen bull sperm that uses diluents, as well as through the assessment of data research with assessment parameters such as macroscopic and microscopic assessment of cattle semen. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis. The results of this study indicate that the ratings fresh semen is done in two ways, namely macroscopically and microscopically. Grossly obtained volume of average ejaculate of 6 ml with a beige color and acidity levels on average 5.8. The concentration used is 'medium' which is a category of consistency and decent for further processing until the stage of freezing to rethawing. Microscopic assessment that includes an average frequency of motility in the fourth shelter is 70% with 3+ mass motility, percentage of live of fresh semen was obtained in this study was 80%. This value is the percentage of normal life. Based on these results it was concluded that the addition of diluents can reduce the rate of loss of quality (motility and percentage of survival) of bull sperm during the stages of preservation. Andromed diluent best in reducing the rate of decline in the quality of bull sperm during the stages of preservation

Abstract

This study aims to determine the physical quality characteristics of pure and impure honey bee Trigona. The material used in this research is pure honey and impure honey. This study consisted of 2 treatments with five replications where X1 (pure honey) and X2 (unpure honey). Parameters observed included soluble test, heating test, hexagon test, and ant test. Data analysis using t-test. Based on the results of the analysis of variance, it shows that each soluble test is X1 = 1.6 and X2 = 3.8, the heating test is X1 = 4.6 and X2 = 2.4, the hexagon test is X1 = 2 and X2 = 1, 8, the ant test is X1 = 3.2 and X2 = 4.2. The study results can be concluded that the effectiveness of the honey purity test using several simple methods that most meet the requirements are the soluble test method, the heating test method, and the ant test. In contrast, the hexagon test does not give a response at all.

Abstract

This research was conducted from May to June of 2016 in Ranojaya, Indonesia. There was so the purpose of this research is to find out how much influence the farmers’ knowledge level toward the   Ettawa goat reproduction regulation system in Ranojaya, Indonesia. In determining the location of the research, the researchers were deliberately placed in Ranojaya, Indonesia. It wasby looking at the stressing of Ranojaya area.It was found thatmost of the community have business of Ettawa goat. The technique of determining the sample using purposive sampling technique, where the samples are deliberately selected from a population on the basis of the criteria determined by the researcher is the breeder of Ettawa goat who knows about the regulation of the reproductive system, and from the 1,193 population of 15 selected farmers as the sample/respondent. The results showed that (1) There was a significant correlation between knowledge level of farmer with reproduction system arrangement on an Ettawa goat in Ranojaya, Indonesia. (2) The correlation coefficient between variable X1 (number of livestock ownership) to variable Y is 0.75. This means that there is a strong relationship between the factor of the number of livestock owned on the knowledge level of the farmers with the regulation of reproduction system in Ettawa goat cattle. (3) The correlation coefficient between variables X2 (long breeding) to variable Y is 0.64. This means that there is a strong relationship between the old factors of breeding to the level of knowledge of farmers with the regulation of reproduction system on livestock Ettawa goat. (4) The result of program effectiveness calculation and the effectiveness of the increase of respondent knowledge about the reproduction system regulation on Ettawa crossbreed goat got the effective result, namely 72,75%. While the increase of knowledge of respondents got an effective result that is 47.5%, or there is an increase in knowledge of the respondents after having been done illumination was 14.87%

Abstract

Study on the production of male Peranakan Ettawa goat carcasses with different natural feeding.  The purpose of this research is to find out the output of the Peranakan Ettawa male carcasses with mixed natural food. In this study used the Peranakan goat Ettawa males as many as six tails. The research data is analyzed by various print analyses using the complete random plan (RAL), and the measured parameters include cutting weight, carcass weight, and percentage of the carcass.  The rate of cutting weight gained during the research of P1 (100% mulberry) amounted to 10537.50 grams, P2 (50% mulberry, and 50% Gamal) amounting to 10795.00 grams and P3 (100% Gamal) amounting to 12945.00 grams.  The weight of carcasses gained during the research of P1 (100% mulberry) amounted to 4270.00 grams, P2 (50% mulberry, and 50% Gamal) for 4342.50 grams and P3 (100% Gamal) for 5380.00 grams.  The rate of the percentage of carcasses gained during the research of P1 (100% mulberry) of 40.88%, P2 (50% mulberry, and 50% Gamal) amounted to 40.10%, and P3 (100% Gamal) amounted to 41.78%.   Based on the analysis of the prints, the results were derived that the production of an Ettawa Peranakan goat with a different natural feed gave an unreal effect (p 0.05) to the cut weight, weight of carcasses and the percentage of carcasses.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the evaluation of the number of calves born in the Upsus Siwab Program in South Poleang District, Bombana Regency. The number of samples in the study was fifty respondents. Parameters observed in this study were the age of the first AI, the number of times newly pregnant AI, length of gestation, spacing of children, and birth weight. Data analysis used descriptive analysis using Microsoft Excel tabulated and then calculated the percentage, error rate, and several samples using the Slovin formula. Based on the results of the study, the number of calves in South Poleang District was from January to March 2021, there were 200 bulls and 168 cows.
