Abstract

Recent days, more and more people are becoming interested in "free-energy". "Free-energy" means the energy sources used freely without to pay. The sources of "free-energy" are sunlight, rainfall, wind energy, wave power, and tidal power. There are other sources of power such as gravity, electrical charge in the atmosphere and ionosphere, and a mass. FESS (Flywheel Energy Storage System) is an attempt to store kinetic energy generated from the rotation flywheel in which the electrical power output from the generator as an input to the motor. Mass flywheel greatly affects the amount of power generated by a generator which will serve as a flywheel device or distributors of energy while at the induction generator to eventually convert mechanical energy into electrical energy and vice versa. In this system design becomes very important for the flywheel can store the kinetic energy. This research aims to design and build mechanisms as a means of comparison FESS flywheel effect of the geometry of the kinetic energy generated. The research method is done by making three different geometric design flywheels, and then analyzed with the help of FESS. From the experimental results, flywheel 1 with a ringtype web-concave generate kinetic energy of 312.30 J and specific energy of 31.23 J / kg, at the flywheel 2 which is type-straight arm kinetic energy gained by 316.73 J and energy specific of 31.67 J / kg and flywheel 3 with a ring-type web-straight kinetic energy obtained by 284.997 J and specific energy of 28.49 J / kg. From the research data we can conclude that each design geometry flywheel has a different contribution to the performance of energy storage.

Abstract

Waste is one of the many social problems faced by the community. To solve the problem of waste required a technology to process waste itself. Several studies have been done, one of which is design and construction thrasher machine. There are several studies on the design and construction thrasher machine. However, the analysis was conducted on one type of thrasher machine with a particular waste material. This study aims to obtain the results of the efficiency analysis of the thrasher machine results on the type of thrasher machine and waste material. The method used is experimental method. The type of thrasher machine and waste material used as a free variable. The percentage of the chopping result is chosen as a variable depending on the speed of rotation and thrasher time as the companion variable. The results of this study based on the results of experiments, both qualitatively and quantitatively shows that plastic bottle trash has a suit with shear type, grass litter has a match with the type of swing and trash has a match with the type of crusher.

Abstract

Palm brondolan are the outer fruit of the loose bunches and fall to the ground. Palm brondolan is used as a feed ingredient. Processing of palm brondolan for feed ingredients needs to be done by the process of damaging the material structure. This study aims to determine the quality of palm brondolan crusher using standard cutting eyes and determine the right shaft. In this study the crusher machine was designed using 13 circular cutting eyes to see the standard ? 4? x 1.75 mm, the number of teeth 40 pieces and the distance between cutting eyes 5 mm. This machine uses a source of driving power in the form of a 3 phase electric motor with 3 HP power and has a rotating speed of 1420 rpm and a rotation ratio of 1: 1 shaft. This study uses the experimental method, by comparing the shaft test with the quality of the palm blended crusher. The quality characteristics that are addressed are the smaller the better. The results of the study, obtained an effective engine capacity of 30 kg/hour. The quality of the crusher at 700 rpm shaft speed accelerated the size of coir length from 1 to 30 mm and the volume of shell and seed granules 8-27 mm3 while in shaft rotation 1420 rpm the size of 1-20 mm coir and the volume of grain and seeds 4-12 mm3 were obtained. From the results of the experiment proving that circular cutting eyes see the standard capable of destroying palm leaflets and shaft rotation affect the quality of the crusher. The 1420 rpm shaft rotation has a better crusher quality compared to 700 rpm shaft rotation.

Abstract

In this research, the technology that will be developed relates to a wheelchair steering and alignment system that will be used in the framework of an electric car for wheelchair users (Wheelchair car) in daily accessibility. Wheelchair car and modification vehicle shown technology development to support their rights. Duration of access for existing modification vehicle needs more than 20 seconds since opening door through to turn the vehicle power on. Wheelchair Jig design with guide bar and fixture design with locator system locked by door closing achieve 8 seconds to access wheelchair get trough into cabin. This is 7 seconds faster than modification vehicle and 4 seconds longer than user with standard car.

Abstract

Pada proses pemesinan, penentuan pengaturan variabel proses yang tepat untuk mencapai respon yang optimum sangat penting dilakukan secara efektif. Hal ini untuk mengurangi proses percobaan berulang sehingga waktu dan biaya proses pemesinan bisa diminimalisir. Material baja SKD 11 merupakan salah satu jenis baja perkakas, yaitu material baja yang biasa dijadikan pisau potong, Cetakan deep drawing, Drawing cones, Compression moulding dies. Kekasaran permukaan merupakan salah satu karakteristik kinerja pemesinan pada proses milling. Penelitian ini akan mengoptimasi dari kekasaran permukaan dengan menggunakan kombinasi variabel proses putaran spindle, feedrate dan kedalaman pemakanan CNC MORI SEIKI MV-40M. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode taguchi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan optimasi yang telah divalidasi dalam percobaan konfirmasi, kombinasi variabel atau parameter proses pada proses milling SKD 11 yang dapat menghasilkan nilai respon paling optimal adalah kecepatan spindle sebesar 2000 rpm, feedrate sebesar 60 mm/menit, dan kedalaman pemakanan 0.55 mm

Abstract

Home businesses are part of UMKM whose existence is very useful in improving the national economy, one of which is in the distribution of the people's income. This science and technology for society (IbM) activity targets home business called "Naurah Cakes". This home business located in Pangkalbalam sub-district, Pangkalpinang city is engaged in the cake and bread business with the main product being birthday cake which has been occupied since 2010. The problems faced by partners are 1) lack of capital, 2) lack of equipment 3) limited human resources, and 4) the absence of financial statements. This IbM activity aims to increase productivity and profitability through technology transfer in the form of stand mixers, frosting deco pens, printers, and cork cutters for the process of making and decorating birthday cakes. The methods used in this IbM activity include training, mentoring, and monitoring. The results of this IbM activity are as follows: 1) an increase in productivity seen from the aspect of effectiveness in the process of making birthday cakes, 2) an increase in the quality of the birthday cake produced and 3) an increase in profitability by 19.44% from 40.47% before the activity. to 54.91% at the end of the activity. Home Business "Naurah Cakes" is a very productive and creative IbM partner, but it needs to be supported by more modern science and technology and sustainable assistance so that the business can develop better, so that in the future partners can increase their turnover, quality, and quantity of their business.

Abstract

The increase in ????oil palm plantations has an impact on increasing plantation waste produced, one of which is palm oil and has a positive impact on the development of palm oil waste processing technology. Palm kernel crushing machine as one of the supporting animal feed productions can produce shreds with fiber and cake dimensions that are suitable for animal feed. However, the types of livestock require varying dimensions of fiber and meal chips. The purpose of this research is a more effective completion of the project 'Design and Analysis of Palm Oil Palm Oil Counter System with 3D FDM Product Spacer Cutter Thickness'. The design process of a machine component must consider the stresses and deformations that occur so that it can be known whether the components designed are of good quality or not. The five steps of the problem-solving process are as follows: 1) Define requirements, 2) Gather/analyze information, 3) Develop several options, 4) Select the best option, and 5) Implement the design. Design simulations and analysis were carried out on the components of the chopping shaft, spacer cutter, and compression springs. From the simulation results obtained the design data of the chopping shaft using steel material, dimensions Æ20mm/Æ16mm, and uniform load w= 0.24 N/mm. Analysis of maximum bending stress sB = 1.847 MPa, torsional stress t = = 0.103 MPa, and deflection fmax = 4.201 microm. The design of the spacer cutter component uses ABS material, dimensions Æ70mm/ Æ20mm with a thickness variation of 10-15 mm, and a compressive load of F= 100 N. Analysis of Von Mases Stress is 0.0319665 MPa and maximum displacement is 0.0000713021 mm. The design of the compressed spring components uses carbon steel, the wire dimensions are 2 mm, the inner diameter is 20 mm, and the length is 100 mm. The spring inspection analysis is positive.

Abstract

Inorganic waste in the form of cardboard waste can be reused into various recycled creations that have economic value. This service project aims to provide direct benefits from recycling cardboard waste into disposable objects for educational units in Bangka Regency. The cardboard waste recycling method starts from collecting cardboard waste around the Polman Negeri Babel environment and implementing a creation class. The creation class was attended by several students of Mechanical Design Engineering study program. The design of disposable objects is made using AutoDesk Inventor software according to the theme and design form. In making the design, the main thing that must be considered is that the dimensions of the used object must be adjusted to the size of the cardboard that is available or used. The result of this service project is that the UKS Shelf consists of three objects, namely the UKS shelf, first aid kit and file box, each made in 4 copies, so that there are 4 Education Units in Bangka Regency that will benefit directly from this project.

Abstract

The process of making fried onions is carried out in several stages until they become fried onions that are ready to be consumed, starting from peeling the onion skin, slicing, frying, slicing, and packing. From the results of a survey conducted on service partners, the process of peeling onion skins is still manual, namely peeling it using a knife one by one. It takes approximately 4 hours to peel 15 Kg of raw shallots which is done by 2 employees, and the process takes a lot of time. In order to increase the production of shallots, a shallot peeling machine was developed to speed up the stripping process. Partners will receive appropriate technology in the form of a shallot peeler and training in the process of using the machine and maintaining the machine. In addition, a monitoring and evaluation process is also carried out to measure the level of success and constraints on the machines that have been used by partners. After the development of the shallot peeling machine was developed, the partner's production productivity increased, the machine functioned properly and was able to peel as much as 5 kg of shallot skin in 10 minutes or 30 kg/hour.

Abstract

Additive manufacturing is a technology for creating real objects directly from CAD models. One of them is 3D printing FDM. The advantages of this technology are that it can print various shapes such as cups and bowls, the material is easy to obtain, low maintenance costs and unattended operation, but it has limitations, one of which is related to the dimensional accuracy of the prints, as a result the resulting product is still not in accordance with the desired design. The final setting of control factors in the optimal FDM 3D printing process is recognized as one of the most important steps to improve product quality. Research on determining the control factors of the Anycubic 4max machine on the bush products made of nylon filament. Varied control factors are nozzle temperature, bed temperature, layer thickness, wall thickness, flowrate, print speed, overlap, infill density, infill speed. Experimental design and optimization using the Taguchi method. The experimental design uses an L27 orthogonal matrix with 3 levels. The results showed that the highest dimensional accuracy was at experimental number 20 with a value of 9.97 mm and the smallest was at experimental number 1 with a value of 9.71 mm. Control factors that affect the FDM 3D printing process, respectively, are layer thickness, nozzle temperature, bed temperature, flowrate, infill speed, overlap, wall thickness, printing speed, and infill density.
