Abstract

Waste is one of the many social problems faced by the community. To solve the problem of waste required a technology to process waste itself. Several studies have been done, one of which is design and construction thrasher machine. There are several studies on the design and construction thrasher machine. However, the analysis was conducted on one type of thrasher machine with a particular waste material. This study aims to obtain the results of the efficiency analysis of the thrasher machine results on the type of thrasher machine and waste material. The method used is experimental method. The type of thrasher machine and waste material used as a free variable. The percentage of the chopping result is chosen as a variable depending on the speed of rotation and thrasher time as the companion variable. The results of this study based on the results of experiments, both qualitatively and quantitatively shows that plastic bottle trash has a suit with shear type, grass litter has a match with the type of swing and trash has a match with the type of crusher.

Abstract

Palm brondolan are the outer fruit of the loose bunches and fall to the ground. Palm brondolan is used as a feed ingredient. Processing of palm brondolan for feed ingredients needs to be done by the process of damaging the material structure. This study aims to determine the quality of palm brondolan crusher using standard cutting eyes and determine the right shaft. In this study the crusher machine was designed using 13 circular cutting eyes to see the standard ? 4? x 1.75 mm, the number of teeth 40 pieces and the distance between cutting eyes 5 mm. This machine uses a source of driving power in the form of a 3 phase electric motor with 3 HP power and has a rotating speed of 1420 rpm and a rotation ratio of 1: 1 shaft. This study uses the experimental method, by comparing the shaft test with the quality of the palm blended crusher. The quality characteristics that are addressed are the smaller the better. The results of the study, obtained an effective engine capacity of 30 kg/hour. The quality of the crusher at 700 rpm shaft speed accelerated the size of coir length from 1 to 30 mm and the volume of shell and seed granules 8-27 mm3 while in shaft rotation 1420 rpm the size of 1-20 mm coir and the volume of grain and seeds 4-12 mm3 were obtained. From the results of the experiment proving that circular cutting eyes see the standard capable of destroying palm leaflets and shaft rotation affect the quality of the crusher. The 1420 rpm shaft rotation has a better crusher quality compared to 700 rpm shaft rotation.

Abstract

In this research, the technology that will be developed relates to a wheelchair steering and alignment system that will be used in the framework of an electric car for wheelchair users (Wheelchair car) in daily accessibility. Wheelchair car and modification vehicle shown technology development to support their rights. Duration of access for existing modification vehicle needs more than 20 seconds since opening door through to turn the vehicle power on. Wheelchair Jig design with guide bar and fixture design with locator system locked by door closing achieve 8 seconds to access wheelchair get trough into cabin. This is 7 seconds faster than modification vehicle and 4 seconds longer than user with standard car.

Abstract

The utilization of palm frond waste can be processed as animal feed, compost, making briquettes, and basic materials for composite panels. The utilization of palm oil frond waste for various purposes is processed by chopping it into small chunks. The chopping process using a chopping machine makes it easy for farmers and speeds up the chopping time. Several studies have been carried out on the chopping process of palm leaf midribs using different motors and various models of cutting blades, varying motor power, and motor rotation speed in order to obtain the optimal engine capacity. The design method used in the manufacture of the machine is the Pahl Beitz method, namely planning, designing product concepts, designing shapes, and designing details. The parameters observed and measured were the effective capacity of the machine, the rendemen of the chopping, and the length of the chopping results. The trial was carried out three times by chopping the fronds each weighing 5 kg. The test results of machine showed that the average effective capacity of the machine was 244.06 kg / hour so that it was included in the class A category. The average chopping rendemen on the machine was 97% and the average size was count ? 50 mm is 89.5% and has met the requirements of SNI 7580: 2010.

Abstract

Nitrate is one of the nutrients that can give an effect on the environment if it is applied in excess. It is also easily soluble in water and it has the potential to be a pollutant in groundwater by the over-process of fertilizer. Therefore, it needs a detected component to give the right measure for nitrate in the soil, called a nitrate ion sensor. It consists of three electrodes configuration, namely, working, counter, and reference electrodes with conductive polyaniline doped with Nitrate (NO₃‾) which is fabricated by thick film technology. In previous research, acidic media was used as a solvent for polyaniline, while this research used water (H2O) solvent. The result of characterization showed that particles were distributed evenly on the sample with the form of particles being small balls with a dimension of 0.18 µm and the percentage of atomic elements being: 91.96 % carbon, 3.14 % nitrogen, and 4.9 % oxygen. The performance of sensors was investigated using potentiostat with four concentrations of nitrate standard solution. The result showed good response with a voltage range in each concentration of nitrate standard solution being 0.5002 Volt (10 mg/l), 1.3552 Volt (20 mg/l), 1.1208 Volt (50 mg/l), and 0.8963 Volt (100 mg/l). It was found that nitrate sensors with nitrate-doped conductive polymer, polyaniline, as the sensitive membrane responded well to detecting nitrate elements in precision farming and the sensitivity showed that for every 1 mg/l concentration in nitrate standard solution, the voltage increases by 0.0007.

Abstract

Penerapan teknologi tepat guna pengolahan limbah kelapa muda sebagai media pupuk organik kelapa sawit di Kabupaten Bangka, merupakan kegiatan pengabdian dosen dan mahasiswa dengan melibatkan mitra, yaitu masyarakat yang peduli akan lingkungan dan aktif dalam pengembangan dan budidaya kelapa sawit di Kabupaten Bangka. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra adalah sulitnya mendapatkan pupuk yang disebabkan karena mahalnya harga pupuk anorganik dipasaran dan berdampak pada pengurangan hasil panen buah sawit. Selain itu, limbah kelapa muda jumlahnya sangat besar, apalagi dikala bulan puasa. Ini menjadi masalah tersendiri karena berpotensi menyebabkan terjadinya pencemaran lingkungan dan menjadi sarang penyakit. Limbah kelamud ternyata bisa digunakan menjadi bahan baku pembuatan pupuk organik bagi tanaman kelapa sawit. Saat ini proses pengolahan limbah kelamut masih dilakukan dengan cara manual menggunakan parang. Untuk dapat memecahkan masalah Mitra tersebut, maka kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan berupa pemberian bantuan penerapan TTG dalam pengolahan limbah kelamud serta pemberian pelatihan berupa cara pengoperasian dan perawatan mesin pengolah limbah kelamud dalam bentuk ceramah, diskusi, praktek dan introduksi mesin pencacah limbah kelamud untuk dijadikan bahan baku pupuk organik. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini nantinya diharapkan mitra mampu membuat pupuk organik dengan memanfaatkan limbah kelamud dan juga dapat mengurangi limbah kelamud yang tidak bermanfaat yang dapat menimbulkan berbagai penyakit. Hasil dari kegiatan ini mampu membantu IKM mengatasi persoalan pengolahan limbah kelamud menjadi lebih cepat dan efektif dengan kapasitasnya 201,04 Kg/jam sehingga mempercepat Proses pembuatan pupuk organik bagi tanaman kelapa sawit.

Abstract

Trolley is a means of moving from one area to another. A very helpful manual tool for moving goods, in order to facilitate the movement of an item to the destination. However, these activities will be hampered if the luggage is a lot and heavy. So the trolley will be made slightly different from the general trolley, namely in the form of a trolley that can be paired as a bicycle holder. This tool has a main frame that can be called for a load, the frame itself uses low carbon steel material in the form of a hollow box, namely St37 steel with a length of 188 mm, width 15x15 mm and thickness of 1.3 mm. In this study, to complete the analysis of frame strength using Solidworks Software, using a static simulation feature so that the stress value that occurs can be known. Solidworks is able to improve and validate performance and reduce the need for prototypes or costly design changes at a later date. The results of this study indicate that the trolley using low carbon steel material with a predetermined size is able to withstand the load of 30 kg.

Abstract

3D printing is a manufacturing technology that is widely developed to make prototypes in accordance with the desired design, one of which is FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling). FDM technology is a printing technique used to print products using fibrous materials, some filaments that are often used in 3D printing including polylactic acid (PLA), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), nylon, polyethylene terephthalate glycol (PETG) and polycarbonate (PC). This research aims to get the parameters that most affect the print of FDM 3D printing machines. In this study to print the filament test object used petg filament (Polyethylene terephthalate Gylacol) and using taguchi L27 OA method. The parameters used are Nozzel Temperature, Bed Temperature, Flowrate, Prin Speed, Layer Thiknes, Infill Overlap, Infill Density, and Infill Speed. The results of the study that has been done showed that the most influential parameters for the height of specimens are research no. 4 and 11 with a value of 19.99 while the lowest value is at number 26 with a value of 19.73 mm. And the most influential process parameters in a row are Nozzel Temperature (235°C), Bed Temperature (100°C), Infill Density (25%), Infill Overlap (10%), Layer Thickness (30mm), Printing Speed (40mm/s), Infill Speed (40mm/s), Flowrate (90%).

Abstract

Persons with disabilities are any person who experiences physical, intellectual, mental, and/or sensory limitations over a long period of time who in interacting with the environment may experience obstacles and difficulties to participate fully and effectively.. With it designed electric cars for wheelchair users that still carry aspects of safety, manufacturing and economy. The drive system needed in this car modification for people with disabilities uses an additional FESS (Flywheel Energy Storage System) system. FESS is an energy storage system on the flywheel that has a certain period and stores it as kinetic energy and releases energy significantly if the energy is needed (Adhe Anggry, 2016). The purpose of using FESS in this motion system is to save energy on MPKR. The method used in making this study was the design method of VDI 2222.

Abstract

This final project makes pempek which is the basic material for making kemplang as the object of research. Based on the results of a survey conducted in Kampung Pasir until now pempek slicing is still done manually using a kitchen knife which requires slicing time of about 1 hour for slices weighing ±4.3 kg or 1 minute for slices of 71.7 grams. The purpose of this final project is to design a pempek slicer as many as 4 butts measuring 25 cm long with a diameter of 4 cm and a thickness of 2-3 mm that can be sliced in one slicing process. The design of the pempek slicer into kemplang refers to the VDI 2222 design method. From the experiment, it was found that the pempek slices were uniform in thickness and the tool could slice the pempek within 10 kg/hour.
