Abstract

There are many problems related to water in Indonesia, ranging from floods to water crises. One of the things we can do is manage water consumption so that we can use water effectively and wisely. The problem of excessive anggd unwise water use can be overcome by water consumption management.. In this study, a water consumption management system incc the household is created, which includes monitoring and control so that we can monitor and control it and also have a history of daily water use. The system will be made using Arduino Uno as controller and will be displayed on the LCD and the website. Based on research, the following conclusions were obtained: Successfully implemented IoT based home water monitoring using Arduino, Successfully designed a tool for water tank management based on Arduino Uno, the results obtained by the tool can detect when the water is full, and the water pump turns off automatically so that the water does not fill again and the tank will not be full. The average error of this system is 6.16 %. The bigger volume will make the error value decrease.

Abstract

Nowadays, the implementation of information and communication technology in education is important. In harmony with technological developments, the term mobile learning comes to represent learning that utilizes mobile communication devices. The implementation of augmented reality in education provides a new learning model in the form of a combination of technology-based conventional learning media. This research aimed to evaluate augmented reality-based books as media for learning Cirebon mask dance. As many as 15 respondents were involved in the evaluation process, including testing the usability using the System Usability Scale (SUS) and User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ). The evaluation using SUS found a value of 77.67, meaning that the Acceptability Ranges category was “Acceptable”; the Grade Scale category was “C”; and the Adjective Rating category was “Excellent”, while that using UEQ found that each category, namely Attractiveness, Perspicuity, Efficiency, Dependability, Stimulation, Dependability, and Novelty got a value greater than the impression value (0.8), namely 2.122; 2.117; 1.983; 1.750; 1.950 and 1,867, respectively. Overall, all of the evaluation results show that augmented reality-based books are acceptable to be used as media for learning Cirebon mask dance.

Abstract

Dewasa ini, pihak individu dan organisasi telah memanfaatkan media website sebagai teknologi informasi untuk membagikan atau mendapatkan informasi secara mudah dalam waktu singkat. PKM Center Universitas Ahmad Dahlan telah menggunakan media website sebagai pelayanan lomba setiap mahasiswa, tetapi mendapatkan sejumlah masukan dari pengguna terkait tampilan website yang kurang atraktif, dan informasi yang disampaikan kurang aktual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis website PKM Center Universitas Ahmad Dahlan berdasarkan persepsi pengguna melalui pendekatan WebQual 4.0. Proses analisis diawali dengan menyusun hipotesis penelitian untuk mengkaji antara hubungan variabel independen yang terdiri dari kegunaan, kualitas informasi, dan kualitas layanan interaksi terhadap variabel dependen yaitu kepuasan pengguna. Proses kedua adalah menyusun, dan menguji instrumen penelitian melalui uji validitas dan uji reliabilitas oleh 30 mahasiswa. Proses ketiga adalah mendapatkan data primer melalui penyebaran instrumen kepada 130 mahasiswa. Proses terakhir adalah mengkaji hasil interpretasi responden melalui uji normalitas, uji korelasi uji-t, dan uji-f untuk pembuktian hipotesis penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setiap variabel independen secara parsial maupun simultan berkorelasi, dan berhubungan kuat terhadap variabel dependen.

Abstract

A quadrotor is a type of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) or an unmanned flying vehicle flying remotely or using automatic control. In carrying out its mission, a quadrotor requires a good control system. One of the control systems in the quadrotor system is the altitude control system. Altitude control will control the quadrotor according to the desired altitude, whether there are interference and the quadrotor load. The widely used control method is the PID control. Unfortunately, the PID control produces a poor response because the PID constant is fixed, whereas the interference when the quadrotor flies will fluctuate. Therefore, this study offers control that can make a self-adjustment when exposed to specific interference. The method offered in this study is a PID control with Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). The ANN system will tune the PID components in real-time according to the occurring interference. The use of the PID with ANN results in a faster rise time response of 0.0594 seconds, a decrease in overshoot of 7.58%, a decrease in the steady-state error of ± 0.0672, and a decrease in settling time of 1.031 seconds compared to conventional PID. It shows that the PID with ANN results in better control than the PID alone.

Abstract

Referring to the president’s instruction of number 3 in 2004, the transportation department has been given a project to build some managing and controlling shelters for counting and reporting the traffics. Based on an observation of landline transportation from Yogyakarta to Cirebon, the process of vehicles’s computation was done manually by using mechanical timer button, and the result was stored on logbook. This causes a problem since the computation requires rapidity and good physical condition to acquaire the accurate data. In the research, an automatic system of vehicles computation was designed by utilizing the technology of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). The vehilcles were identified by radio waves emanating from the RFID reader, and the RFID transponder code would be processed into information needed by the user application. The result shows that a system of traffic computation utilizing RFID that is able to process some information automatically to analyze the traffic jam.

Abstract

An evaluation of the website quality must be considered on an ongoing basis by an institution because the website quality is part of the institution’s image in cyberspace. As a higher education institution, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) utilizes the website in the new student admission (NSA) process. Referring to the initial review process using a Blackbox method, it was found that the UAD NSA website had a function that was not working properly. It was also identified that the information content of the registration process displayed was incomplete. This study aims to determine the quality of the UAD NSA website based on the interpretation of the end-users with instruments adopted from the WebQual 4.0 method including usability quality, information quality, and service interaction quality variables. The evaluation process began with the instrument testing which included validity and reliability testing. The process of WebQual 4.0 statistical test was carried out through classical assumption testing which included normality, autocorrelation, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity testing, t-test, and f-test. The final evaluation process was an importance-performance analysis (IPA) test with the level of conformity, gap, and quadrant analysis between performance and expectations. The results of testing the validity and reliability of 23 instrument items by 100 respondents got an overall value of rtable greater than the value of rcount, which was 0.195, and Cronbach’s alpha value was greater than 0.6 so that the research instrument was valid and reliable. The results of the test involving 250 respondents obtained WebQual 4.0 statistical results, each independent variable (A) partially and simultaneously correlated with the dependent variable (B). The results of the IPA quadrant test indicates that the A2.5 variable related to providing easy-to-understand information needs to be optimized by NSA and web service managers at UAD.

Abstract

The majority of universities in Indonesia make maximum efforts to participate and excel in the implementation of the Student Creativity Program (namely: PKM). PKM requires students to collaborate interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary. The problem at the beginning of PKM implementation is establishing groups, where students find it difficult to have fellow students or supervisors from different disciplines in groups and according to the topic of their PKM. This research develops a user-oriented interaction and interface of information systems and group management. Development was carried out through a User-Centered Design which consisted of the following stages: plan the human-centered process; understand and specify the context of use; specify the user requirements; produce design solutions to meet user requirements; and evaluate the design against the requirements. Testing using System Usability Scale (SUS) and User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) approach were conducted on 30 respondents who had competencies as business analysts, programmers, and testers. The results of the mean score of the SUS test are 80, and the mean Score of the UEQ test on the Attractiveness variable is 1.922, Clarity is 2.158, Efficiency is 2.042, Accuracy is 1.708, Stimulation is 1.967, and Novelty is 1.917. The system has achieved the goals and user experience because all the testing scores are above the standard provisions.

Abstract

Usability testing is a recommended main testing method to evaluate the usability or ease of use of a software. However, this approach can induce bias. Usability testing with survey method using questionnaire instruments and interview has a risk of generating lack of objectivity from the participants because the facilitator can influence the evaluation results. The evaluation process is not optimal and the biases that arise from usability testing can affect the success or failure of a software in the market. A method for validating usability testing results needs to be studied to ensure whether the test results obtained are valid and unbiased. Electroencephalogram (EEG) is one of the tool that can be used to validate usability testing. This study aims to conduct usability testing of the three most popular e-marketplace applications in Indonesia. From the results it can be seen that usability testing using user-based testing gives a fairly good result in term of accuracy. Usability testing using EEG gives lower results than user-based testing. Nevertheless, we cannot rule out EEG as a usability testing method in the future.

Abstract

Dukuh Sanan terletak di Provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, Kabupaten Bantul, Kecamatan Pleret, dan Kelurahan Bawuran. Mayoritas pemuda di Dukuh Sanan tergabung ke dalam karang taruna yang berperan aktif memilah sampah botol plastik dan plastik bening untuk dijual dengan nilai ekonomis yang rendah. Hal ini suatu rintisan yang baik tetapi belum mengakomodasi ketegori sampah lain. Program pengabdian ini berupaya meningkatkan ilmu pengetahuan pemuda karang taruna Dukuh Sanan selaku mitra dalam mengelola dan mengolah sampah organik menjadi pupuk kompos. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat ini terdiri dari tahap pra-pelaksanaan, pelaksanaan, dan pasca-pelaksanaan. Tahap pra-pelaksanaan berupa persiapan dan sosialisasi kegiatan. Tahap pelaksanaan meliputi penyuluhan pemisahan jenis sampah organik dan anorganik, pelatihan pengelolaan sampah dengan prinsip 3R (reduce, reuse, dan recycle), dan pelatihan pembuatan pupuk kompos dari sampah organik. Para peserta mengikuti kegiatan dengan sangat antusias dan berhasil membuat produk berupa pupuk kompos. Tahap pasca-pelaksanaan dilakukan evaluasi peningkatan pengetahuan mengenai pembuatan pupuk kompos sebesar 93%.

Abstract

Today, augmented reality has an important role in human activity, especially in the field of education. The increasing capabilities of mobile devices also contribute to augmented reality to reduce real world distance with the virtual world. This paper will discuss the design and testing of iBook as media of learning the Cirebon mask dance art. IBook is a form of optimisation of traditional books based on augmented reality. The iBook designs will interact with virtual objects through direct touch on the application interface (pinch and swipe). The technical testing of iBook is a test of marker less reading ability and audio response time test. The markerless detection test resulted in minimum response time less than 1 second, minimum distance of 64 cm and a maximum distance of 3 cm, a minimum angle of 23° and a maximum angle of 90°. Tracking test obtained a minimum distance of 3 cm and a maximum distance of 71 cm, a minimum angle of 90° and a maximum angle of 16°. Any markerless detection and tracking can be done in unobstructured condition of no more than 50%. The testing of audio content obtained activation response time less than 1 second with original duration equal to active duration.
