Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of second-grade students of SDN 1 Mojowetan on the material of stacked addition through the application of the demonstration method with a labyrinth board media. The subjects of the study were 23 students of class II A. This study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with the Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model, implemented in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, documentation, and tests, with data validity tested using source and method triangulation. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively and descriptive statistics. The pretest results showed that only 4 students with a percentage (17.39%) achieved the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). After the application of the demonstration method and maze board, learning outcomes increased significantly, as many as 12 students with a percentage (52.17%) achieved completion in cycle 1, and increased to 20 students with a percentage (86.96%) in cycle 2. In addition to cognitive outcomes, the results of teacher skills in applying the demonstration method in cycle I got an average score of 17 with the category (Good), while in cycle 2 there was an increase with an average score of 19 with the category (Very Good) from a total score of 20. In conclusion, the application of the demonstration method with maze board media effectively improves the quality of learning and student outcomes.

Abstract

Mathematics has always been a frightening prospect for students, so mathematics learning outcomes are a constant concern for teachers and even educational institutions. This study aims to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes through the application of a cooperative learning model.Team Games Tournament (TGT)supported by the mediafraction card. This research is based on the low mathematics learning outcomes of fifth-grade students of SDN Balong, with an average score of 48.42 from the KKM of 70. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) carried out in two cycles, each including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 19 fifth-grade students of SDN Balong in the 2024/2025 academic year. Data collection techniques included documentation, interviews, observations, and tests. Data validity was tested by triangulation of sources and methods. The results of the study indicate that the application of the TGT model assistedfraction cardcan improve teacher skills, student activity, and mathematics learning outcomes. This is evidenced by the learning outcomes achieved in cycle I, which reached 68.42% cognitive learning completion, increasing to 78.94% in cycle II. Student activity and teacher skills also experienced significant improvements. Thus, the TGT cooperative learning model is effective in improving the quality of mathematics learning

Abstract

Siswa sekolah dasar sering mengalami kesulitan memahami konsep sudut karena pembelajaran geometri masih banyak didominasi penjelasan verbal dan gambar statis. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan memperkuat pemahaman konsep sudut siswa kelas IV melalui model Project Based Learning (PjBL) berbasis proyek rumah origami. Penelitian menggunakan model Kemmis dan McTaggart dalam dua siklus dengan subjek 28 siswa kelas IV SDN 2 Andongrejo Kabupaten Blora. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan tes evaluasi, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif melalui persentase ketuntasan, rata-rata kelas, dan refleksi kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketuntasan belajar meningkat dari 57,14% pada pra-siklus dengan rata-rata 65 menjadi 71,43% pada siklus I dengan rata-rata 72,5. Setelah instruksi proyek, scaffolding guru, dan pendampingan kelompok diperjelas pada siklus II, ketuntasan meningkat menjadi 89,29% dengan rata-rata 81,1. Proyek rumah origami membantu siswa mengenali, mengukur, dan mengklasifikasikan sudut melalui aktivitas konkret, visual-spasial, dan kolaboratif. Temuan ini berimplikasi bahwa pembelajaran geometri berbasis proyek sederhana dapat membuat konsep sudut lebih bermakna bagi siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

The Efficiency of Employing Wordwall-Based Interactive Educational Tools in Enhancing Elementary Students’ Comprehension of Math Concepts. In the digital age, the educational curriculum needs to evolve to cater to the requirements of Generation Alpha. At the primary school stage,many learners find mathematics challenging due to its abstract and deductive characteristics. Research conducted at SDN 1 Nglebur and SDN 2 Ngawen indicated that the absence of an effective unteractive learning framework led to poor academic performance among students, with mastery rates of only 32.14% and 40%, respectively. This research sought to assess the efficacy of Wordwall media in bolstering fifth-grade pupils’ grasp of mathematical ideal, particularly concerning LCM and GCF topics. A quasi-experimental framework and a quantitative methodology were employed in the investigation. The sample comprised 28 students from the experimental group and 30 from the control group. Information was gathered through experimentation involving pretest and posttests. Results from the experimental group demonstrated a notable improvement,exhibiting an average increase of 25.35 points, which was significantly greater that the control group at a significance level of 0.0002 (less that 0.05). Moreover, the avarage N-Gain value recorded for the experimental group was 0.41, while the control group only achieved 0.01. Learning materials developed with Wordwall are effective in enhancing fifth graders’ understanding of mathematics. The gamification aspects and interactive functionalities of the platform have been shown to convert abstract material into a more visual and engaging format, leading to a notable boost in student motivation and educational results. The study’s conclusion indicates that Wordwall, serving as an interactive educational platform, can assist in elucidation abstract concepts and elevating learning enthusiasm through gamification elements, providing educator with empirical support for incorporating technology into elementary mathematics instruction.

Abstract

Reading ability is one of the important aspects of learning in elementary school. Reading is also a language skill that must be mastered at the beginning of education, namely the elementary school level. This study aims to improve students' initial reading ability through the reading wheel media. This study is based on the low initial reading ability of grade I students at SDN 1 Tamanrejo. The research subjects were 24 students. This study used a classroom action research (CAR) approach, developed by Kemmis and Mc Taggart. Which consists of 4 stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques include documentation, interviews, observations, and tests. Data validity was tested by triangulation of sources and methods. The achievement indicator in the study is said to be successful if the student's ability score has reached 80%, then the study must be stopped. The results of the study show that the use of the reading wheel media successfully improves teacher skills, student activities, and students' initial reading abilities. This is evidenced by the acquisition of cognitive results in cycle I, as many as 15 students with a percentage of 62.5% were able to complete the KKTP, while in cycle II it increased by 24 students with a percentage of 100% were able to complete the KKTP. Student activity in cycle I obtained an average score of 18 with a good category and in cycle II there was an increase again with an average score of 21 including the very good category. Meanwhile, it can be seen that teacher skills in cycle I obtained a score of 17 with a good category, and in cycle II there was an increase again with a score of 19 in the very good category. Thus, the use of the rotating reading wheel media able to improve initial reading skills in Indonesian language lessons. ABSTRAK Kemampuan membaca merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam pembelajaran di sekolah dasar. Membaca juga merupakan keterampilan berbahasa yang wajib dikuasai pada awal menempuh pendidikan yaitu jenjang SD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa melalui media roda putar baca. Penelitian ini didasari karena rendahnya kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas I SDN 1 Tamanrejo. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 24 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), yang dikembang oleh kemmis dan Mc Taggart yang terdiri dari 4 tahapan yaitu, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi dokumentasi, wawancara, observasi, dan tes. Validitas data diuji dengan triangulasi sumber dan metode. Indikator ketercapaian pada penelitian dikatakan berhasil jika nilai te kemampuan siswa sudah mencapai 80% maka penelitian harus di hentikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan penggunaan media roda putar baca berhasil meningkatkan keterampilan guru, aktivitas siswa, serta kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa. Hal tersebut dibuktikan pada perolehan hasil kognitif pada siklus I sebanyak 15 siswa dengan persentase 62,5% mampu tuntas KKTP, sedangkan pada siklus II meningkat sebanyak 24 siswa dengan persentase 100% mampu tuntas KKTP. Aktivitas siswa pada siklus I didapat skor rata-rata 18 dengan kategori baik dan pada siklus II terjadi peningkatan lagi dengan skor rata-rata 21 termasuk kategori sangat baik. Sedangkan terlihat keterampilan guru pada siklus I mendapatkan skor 17 dengan kategori kategori baik, serta pada siklus II terjadi peningkatan lagi dengan skor 19 pada kategori sangat baik. Dengan demikian penggunaan media roda putar baca  mampu meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan pada pelajaran bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

Listening learning in elementary schools requires media that can help students understand information in a more concrete and engaging way. Short story videos are one of the media used in Indonesian language learning at elementary schools. In practice, some students were found to experience difficulties in understanding the story content after listening activities. This study aims to analyze the forms of listening difficulties experienced by second grade students of SDN 1 Botoreco in short story video-based learning, the factors causing these difficulties, and the teacher’s strategies to overcome them. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were obtained through observation, semi-structured interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The research subjects included second grade teachers and students of SDN 1 Botoreco. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings showed that students experienced difficulties in understanding the storyline, maintaining focus during listening activities, and comprehending certain vocabulary used in the video. These difficulties were influenced by the characteristics of lower grade students, language use in the video, video duration, and differences in students’ cognitive abilities. The use of short story videos was able to increase students’ learning interest when accompanied by active teacher involvement in guiding the listening process. Therefore, audiovisual-based listening learning needs to be designed to support the optimal development of elementary school students’ literacy skills. ABSTRAK Pembelajaran menyimak di sekolah dasar memerlukan media yang mampu membantu siswa memahami informasi secara lebih konkret dan menarik. Video cerita pendek menjadi salah satu media dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di sekolah dasar. Praktiknya, ditemukan siswa mengalami kesulitan memahami isi cerita setelah kegiatan menyimak. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis bentuk kesulitan menyimak siswa kelas II SDN 1 Botoreco dalam pembelajaran berbasis video cerita pendek, faktor penyebabnya, serta strategi guru dalam mengatasinya. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Data diperoleh dari observasi, wawancara semi terstruktur, angket, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian memcakup guru kelas II dan siswa SDN 1 Botoreco. Analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman melalui tahap reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siswa mengalami kesulitan memahami alur cerita, mempertahankan fokus saat menyimak, serta memahami kosakata tertentu dalam video. Kesulitan dipengaruhi oleh karakteristik siswa kelas rendah, penggunaan bahasa dalam video, durasi tayangan, dan perbedaan kemampuan kognitif siswa. Penggunaan video cerita pendek mampu meningkatkan minat belajar siswa apabila disertai keterlibatan aktif guru dalam membimbing proses menyimak. Pembelajaran menyimak berbasis audiovisual perlu dirancang agar membantu perkembangan kemampuan literasi siswa sekolah dasar secara optimal.
