Abstract

This article aimed to develop an improved Ant Lion algorithm. The objective function was to minimize the mean tardiness on the flow shop scheduling problem with a focus on the permutation flow shop problem (PFSP). The Hybrid Ant Lion Optimization Algorithm (HALO) with local strategy was proposed, and from the total search of the agent, the NEH-EDD algorithm was applied. Moreover, the diversity of the nominee schedule was improved through the use of swap mutation, flip, and slide to determine the best solution in each iteration. Finally, the HALO was compared with some algorithms, while some numerical experiments were used to show the performances of the proposed algorithms. It is important to note that comparative analysis has been previously conducted using the nine variations of the PFSSP problem, and the HALO obtained was compared to other algorithms based on numerical experiments.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the quality of services by integrating Servqual and the Kano model. In this study, Servqual is used to determine the quality criteria that must be improved. At this method, the quality criteria are based on the gap between customer perceptions and expectations for the services they receive. Meanwhile, the Kano method is used to categorize service attributes that satisfy customer needs. Servqual integration and the Kano model were carried out by synchronizing the Servqual gap value and the Kano model grade. Assessment of service attributes obtained from both methods produces service attributes that will focus on management’s improvement to improve service quality. The results showed that the attribute criteria that must be prioritized were attributes that included attractive and one-dimensional categories, which had weak types at Servqual. Improvements in attributes in attractive and one-dimensional categories will improve service quality and increase customer satisfaction.

Home Industry Putih Jaya is a company engaged in the paving blocks manufacturing which in producing paving certainly wanst to minimize any product defects. Known types of paving product  that often occured is an easily cracked paving. An effort in the first stage to reduce the level of disability in this company is to identify the factors that affect product quality paving using fishbone diagram followed by the Taguchi method which is to determine the most influential factor and improve product quality paving so the defect rate can be  decreased. From the data calculation with the fishbone diagram, there are six factors that influential. Among the six factors, those will be identified factor has  the greatest influence resulting product quality deviates toward standards quality. Conclusion of the results showed that percentage of defect that occurs in the company initially around 4%, while by using the proposed improvement by Taguchi method decreases to 2%.  The decreasing of defect percentage of defect means that the improvement of product quality is successfully. The factors the most influential factors to  the paving is a drying process with the largest value of percent contribution in the amount of 34.5%.

Abstract

Energy consumption has become a significant issue in businesses. It is known that the industrial sector has consumed nearly half of the world's total energy consumption in some cases. This research aims to propose the Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO) algorithm to minimize energy consumption in the No Idle Permutations Flowshop Problem (NIPFP). The GWO algorithm has four phases: initial population initialization, implementation of the Large Rank Value (LRV), grey wolf exploration, and exploitation. To determine the level of machine energy consumption, this study uses three different speed levels. To investigate this problem, 9 cases were used. The experiments show that it produces a massive amount of energy when a job is processed fast. Energy consumption is lower when machining at a slower speed. The performance of the GWO algorithm has been compared to that of the Cuckoo Search (CS) algorithm in several experiments. In tests, the Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO) outperforms the Cuckoo Search (CS) algorithm.
