Abstract

Tawangrejo fishers located in Binangun, Blitar are a group of fishers who conducted destructed fishing. Once fish population decreased, they believed that they must recover the fish population in the Brantas river, especially for a ray-finned fish, Puntius bramoides (Valenciennes, 1842) that live endemic, by forming Community based surveillance named POKMASWAS Fajar Bengawan. The POKMASWAS actively monitor and prohibit destructive fishing, also initiate ecotourism called Badher Bank such as river tracking, fish feeding and fishing. However, Badher Bank still has some constraints related to service management and infrastructure availability. Therefore, the aim of these activities was to increase the service of Badher Bank ecotourism by assisting the group management and building a rest facility for tourists. The results of these activities were the workshop and capacity building for POKMASWAS and the provision of a gazebo. Now, Badher Bank has been well managed with improved management skills and excellent ecotourism services.

Abstract

Muntok is an area in the west side of Bangka island which has the potential for offshore fishing, mining, and smelting of tin. Tin mining and smelting can affect cellulolytic bacteria as one of the integration in mangroves. Cellulolytic bacteria can increase the availability of degraded carbohydrates for other organisms. Sampling was done from 3 location of mangrove, namely Tembelok Mangrove, Peltim Mangrove, and Sukal Mangrove. Screening and qualitative identification of cellulolytic bacteria is derived from sediment, weathered wood and leaf litter in the Muntok mangrove. 54 bacterial isolates were identified in screening with CMC 1% enriched media. 24 (44.5%) of them had high HC values in the Lugol indicator, and 21 (39%) isolates in the congo-red indicator. Tembelok mangroves had the highest HC values in the sediment samples, while Peltim mangrove on leaf litter and Sukal mangrove on weathered wood. HC values of isolates of cellulolytic bacteria balanced with fungi, which are more popularly utilized for cellulose degradation. Cellulolytic bacteria potential to increase the digestive value of agricultural waste to substitute fish feed ingredients.

Abstract

The objective of the present research was to map the bathymetry of the Bangsring coastal area, Banyuwangi. Depth data obtained are used to consider the suitable location for fish apartment placement. The depth of the water was measured using a single beam echosounder with a frequency of 50 Hz. The data obtained by sounding process corrected by Tidal data. The tidal data measured during sampling with the observation interval of 30 minutes. The tidal correction was performed to get the depth value relative to lowest Water Surface (LWS). The results showed the depth of the Bangsring coastal area ranged from 2-49 meters. The deepest region is in the southeast of the research area. Based on the depth of the waters, the locations that can be an alternative placement of fish apartment is located by distance of 200- 250 meters in front of Bangsring coastal area with total area  approximately 30 HaPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan kedalaman perairan Bangsring, Banyuwangi.

Abstract

The Karangkates railway tunnel in Malang Regency is more than half a century old and has undergone land use changes into settlements and highways. This study aims to identify cavities between the ground surface and the roof of the Karangkates tunnel using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) data. Primary data were obtained through GPR measurements and interviews with residents. Qualitative methods are used to analyze GPR interpretation data readings and risk analysis. Risk analysis is carried out to determine the location and area of cavities and compile long-term risk management. From the results of the GPR analysis, 6 points were found with protruding cavities, with a cavity depth between 8 to 13.4 meters. The location of such cavities is in residential areas and highways. Risk management measures appropriate to the analysis and observation of the research site are carried out to reduce the impact of risk. The results showed that the risk value was low. By implication, appropriate corrective and maintenance actions must be taken to mitigate risks and maintain public safety.

Abstract

The spawning sites of Anguilla borneensis and Anguilla celebesensis were in the seas off Sulawesi and the Gulf of Tomini, the spawning sites of Anguilla marmorata and Anguilla bicolor pacifica were in the western part of the North Pacific. The purpose of this study was to find out information on the diversity of eel seeds and adult eels in the Dumoga River based on the abundance of eel seeds and gonad maturity of adult eels. The eel species consisted of 1,106 A. marmorata, A. bic. pacifica as many as 854 tails and Anguilla spp as many as 291 individuals. The caught eel fish were separated based on the morphology of the eel species. Segregation of catches based on special characteristics of eel, namely preanal and predorsal lengths. Anodorsal values were divided into three groups, namely ±15.57% (A. marmorata); ±1.18% (A. bicolor pacifica) and ±7.09% (Anguilla spp.). Meristic values of A. marmorata for spine (TB) total 104-106 units, pre-dorsal TB 17-19, pre-anal TB 36-39 and ano-dorsal TB 18-20. Meristic values of A. bicolor pacifica for spine (TB) totaled 108-112, pre-dorsal TB 32-36, pre-anal TB 32-39 and ano-dorsal TB 0-3. Meristic values of Anguilla spp for spinal (TB) totaled 100-106, pre-dorsal TB 27-29, pre-anal TB 30-33 and ano-dorsal TB 6-12. The growth pattern of adult eels is negative allometric, i.e. the body length gains faster than the slower body weight gain. The condition of adult eels in the Dumoga River is not fat because the condition factor ranges from 0.0024-0.0036. The average length of adult eels was 58.92cm in Anguilla marmorata (GIC 1.57–2.90%); 54.2cm in A. bicolor pacifica (ICI 1.27–2.79%) and 52.32cm in Anguilla spp (ICI 0.97-2.50%).
