Abstract

Abstract. Improving the ecological quality of a city can be done by creating green open space. The formulation of a green open space policy for harmonious city is influenced by various interrelated factors. This study aimed to estimate the area of green open space in realizing sustainable green open space in Bandar Lampung City. Indicators in determining the needs of green open space were the population, land area, and CO2 emissions. Based on the population in 2017, the green open space requirement as targeted by the local government was 2,673 ha, while the extent of existing green open space was is only 2,475 ha, hence a need for 197 ha more green open space area. Bandar Lampung City based on its area requires a green open space of 5,916 ha. The level of CO2 emissions in Bandar Lampung City in 2017 was 9,118 Gg/year, while the predicted total CO2 emissions in 2024 is 133.202 Gg/CO2/year and hence the city require additional green open space of 156 ha. This number will increase in line with population growth. For this reason, the area of green open space needs to be adjusted regularly for the absorption of CO2 emissions and the harmony of the city.

Abstract

Forest is not only assessed for timber production, but also for public interests. It is not easy to measure the multiple functions and existence values that forests represent to local residents. The purposes of this research were to classify landscape image aspects of students using LIST (Landscape Image Sketching Technique), to know students' attributes influencing perception, and to formulate the differences of forest landscape characters. The research was conducted in three stages: landscape image survey, landscape image analysis, and forest landscape interpretation. LIST method was applied to classify landscape image aspects. Chi-square test was applied to examine the significant differences between students of Japan and Indonesia to perceive forest landscape, while cluster analysis was applied to characterize forest landscape. The results showed that 10 prominent components were detected in both countries. The only attribute influencing perception for Indonesian students was gender. Japanese students categorized forest type into needle leaf, broadleaf, and unknown forest type, while Indonesian students classified forest type into broadleaf and unknown forest type. The results of this study might be useful as a guidance for forest landscape design in Japan and Indonesia.

Abstract

The primary factor of high energy consumption in housing sector is caused by unconformity between architectural and landscape design. Housing design which has been developed and adopted by people now is more oriented towards building aspect and in current trends design, but lack of environmental and landscape aspect. The environment and landscape aspects has a profound influence as the results of this study. Using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method, the study results in the influence of landscape (site design) on energy saving in housing landscape unit is very significant (67%) compared to building design (33%). In this case, the plant is a ma-jor component that contribute to energy saving design (48.3%). The Criteria for each component are discussed specifically in this paper, both physically and visually.

Abstract

ABSTRACTGlobal climate changing and air condition warming has affect human thermal comfort quality. In 1961-1990 period, Indonesia ambient temperature increased to ± 0.5 ºC. It was projected that the temperature increase about 1.8 to 4.0 ºC in 2000-2050. In a fact, Indonesia comfortable temperature is about 27-28 °C. That comfortable can be created by natural elements such as plants. However, the problems of urban settlement is land limitation and land economic value. Plants presence like green open space was difficult to maintain in urban area. So the solution is made plant procurement by verticultur techniques, for example green panel. Green panel has function as secondary skin (second layer) to protect building from direct solar radiation, and also create comfortable micro climate inside building. The aims of this study was created standard criteria of green panel for house building base on eco-aesthetic principles. This study used calculation of temperature decreasing to evaluate green panel effect. Scenic Beauty Estimation (SBE) and Semantic Differential (SD) was used to assess green panel visual quality. Parameters tested of this study were distance of plant placed and plant types. The best plant combination of green panels are Cuphea hyssopifolia and Iresine herbstii which were placed on 0-50 cm distance from residential buildings walls. Keywords: green panel, eco-aesthetic, thermal comfort, house building.

Abstract

Harmony between settlement and environment is basis of ecological movement recent-ly. It is necessary to examine ecodesign criteria of settlement landscape. The objectives of study are identify critical component and ideal criteria of landscape ecodesign in urban settlement. In this study there was assessment of two settlements landscape as test-cases to illustrate the use of criterias that has been developed. Analytical Hierar-chy Process (AHP) was used as method to identify critical component. Result of AHP was used to assess test-cases and specify ideal criteria. The result showed critical com-ponent of landscape ecodesign in urban settlement is water (29.6%) and alternative priorities of landscape ecodesign is community participation (38.4%). The ecodesign accomplishment classified in high, moderate, and low level. Test-cases accomplishment was in moderate level (score 2.50 to 4.98). This result indicate both of regions has not fully implement ecodesign criteria. The ideal landscape ecodesign of settlement was maximum condition from sixteen subcomponents in design criteria.

Abstract

Water resources is a natural element that has an important role in the development of a city. Not only on the land, development of the city can be done up to the water's edge. Among the aquatic and urban development zone of interaction it is called waterfront. the principle on planning a waterfront region is to build a public open space in urban areas that are physically and visually facing to the water (beach/river/lake) and can be a forum for community activities. To establish the identity and character of the city, Cibinong Raya was designed with Situ-front City because the city has 17 lakes on its territory. Those lakes in Cibinong Raya has different size and physical condition distinct from one another that could affect the priorities in its development. The study was conducted to evaluate the area around lakes in Cibinong Raya in accordance with waterfront development concept. Assessment on the condition of lakes in Cibinong Raya applies the criteria waterfront, riparian ecosystem status criteria, and the criteria for the status of aquatic ecosystems. The results showed that there are 3 lakes is in good condition and 4 lakes in passably condition to be developed into waterfront area.

Abstract

The food quality is determined by the food system, from the food production process, food distribution to food consumption. The production process is related to the agricultural landscape planning. That is the most important step to contribute the production results. Yet, basic knowledge about its benefits values for increasing the potential production are unknown, hence people usually ignore this step planning. Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) as the center of excellence of agricultural science and technology can be a potential sample for application of agricultural planning for production. Thus, the concept of permaculture, which is linked by agricultural productivity based on socio-economic, and ecological has a big chance to be applied. The general objectives of this research were to compose permaculture landscape model and for supply nutritious food needs IPB’s dormitory students. The research surveyed bio-physics potency in Cikabayan campus experimental sites. These estimations are really useful for site analysis of model of permaculture. Result showed the nutritious food needs ingredients for IPB’s dormitory students is 2 299.14 tons from source of plant foods and 406.35 tons from source of animal food which is divided into 18 commodities. The results of agricultural planning with the permaculture landscape model at Cikabayan experimental sites. Results showed that there is a potential production corn 28.43 tons, spinach 10.89 tons, tomato 22.348 tons, kale 6.54 tons, bean 16.44 tons, celery 3.92 tons, and  spring onion 5.6 tons. Totally production to supply food needs plant about 94.168 tons. These productions results from Cikabayan experimental sites can supply about food needs plant resources 4.09% for IPB’s dormitory students. This approach could be used by local campus institution to created food self-sufficiency from the assets of land.
