Abstract

This research investigates the impact of students' interest in learning critical mathematical thinking skills in the context of vocational high schools (SMK) by using a quantitative approach with correlational research methods. This research involved all class XI students of Ma'arif Al-Ghozali Vocational School as the population. Purposive sampling was used to select a sample of 30 students. Data analysis includes various statistical tests, including normality, linearity, correlation, and simple regression tests. The findings of this study reveal an essential relationship between students' learning interests and their mathematical critical thinking abilities. In particular, there is a significant favorable influence between interest in learning and students' critical mathematical thinking abilities. These results underscore the importance of nurturing and improving their mathematical critical thinking skills. This study contributes to our understanding of the factors influencing mathematical critical thinking skills in vocational high school students. It offers valuable insights for educators and policymakers seeking to improve mathematics education in such settings.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the impact of learning motivation on students' mathematical creativity. Employing correlational research techniques with a quantitative approach, the study focuses on the entire Class X population at MIPA Rajagaluh High School. The purposive sampling method was applied to select 30 students from Class X MIPA 6. Research tools included tests on creative thinking and surveys to gauge students' enthusiasm for learning. Data analysis involved correlation, linearity, and normalcy tests. The results revealed a noteworthy correlation between learning motivation and enhancing students' mathematical creative thinking skills. Learning motivation has a statistically significant influence on mathematical creative thinking abilities. These results underscore the importance of cultivating and sustaining students' learning motivation. It is recommended that teachers actively provide encouragement and guidance to nurture robust learning motivation among students.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu menghasilkan produk berupa Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) untuk mengukur kemampuan representasi pada materi geometri, yang valid dan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah model ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima tahapan (Analisys, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Penelitian ini dibatasi hingga tahap implementasi, subjek penelitian yang terdiri dari 5 siswa kelas VIII di SMP. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi lembar kepraktisan untuk guru dan siswa, lembar validitas dari ahli media dan materi, serta tes efektivitas. Skala likert digunakan untuk mengumpulkan hasil uji kepraktisan dan validitas, sementara analisis N-gain digunakan untuk menilai efektivitas. Hasil menunjukan skor validitas 85% dari ahli media dan 75% dari ahli materi, serta skor praktis 100% dari guru dan 80,5% dari siswa yang mengindikasikan LKPD ini valid dan praktis. LKPD ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan kemampuan representasi siswa dengan menyediakan berbagai jenis tugas yang mendorong penggambaran hubungan antara konsep matematika, seperti teorema pythagoras, dan menyajikan masalah nyata. Pengaruh penelitian ini terhadap pembelajaran matematika adalah peningkatan pemahaman siswa tentang konsep teorema pythagoras dan meningkatkan kemampuan representasi mereka dalam penguasaan materi matematika. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan media pembelajaran E-modul yang dikembangkan, dengan penilaian ahli validasi media, ahli materi, kepraktisan siswa da kepraktisan guru, serta meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan motivasi belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan validasi (ahli media dan ahli materi), kepraktisan (siswa dan guru) serta pengujian N-Gain. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa jurusan OTKR kelas X SMKN 1 Talaga, Majalengka, Indonesia yang berjumlah 25 siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis data kuantitatif, dengan instrumen penelitian antara lain angket lembar validasi, angket kepraktisan, angket motivasi belajar dan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukan skor validasi ahli media sebesar 88% dengan kriteria sangat valid, skor validasi ahli materi sebesar 90% dengan kriteria sangat valid, skor kepraktisan siswa sebesar 75% dengn kategori praktis, skor kepraktisan guru sebesar 91% dengan kategori sangat praktis, hasil N-Gain kemampuan berpikir kritis sebesar 0,31 dengan kategori sedang, dan hasil N-Gain motivasi belajar siswa sebesar 0,10 dengan kategori rendah. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran E-modul berbasis webnode dengan media game dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan motivasi belajar siswa. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan dampak positif terhadap pembelajaran matematika, khususnya dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan motivasi belajar siswa dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif.

Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive digital teaching materials in the form of flipbook-assisted resources to enhance students’ understanding of algebraic function derivatives. In the digital era, traditional instructional methods often fail to engage students effectively, leading to gaps in conceptual understanding. Interactive flipbooks provide an alternative by integrating multimedia elements that align with the needs of modern learners.This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4-D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) model. However, the study was limited to the development stage due to time and resource constraints. The instruments included validation sheets from media and material experts, as well as practicality questionnaires for teachers and students. Data were analyzed using a Likert scale to evaluate validity and practicality. The findings indicate that the developed flipbook-based teaching materials meet the criteria of validity and practicality in terms of curriculum alignment, relevance, and usability. Furthermore, their implementation contributes to improving students’ understanding of algebraic function derivatives, providing a foundation for advanced mathematics learning. This study concludes that the developed flipbook-assisted interactive teaching materials are both valid and practical, contributing to the advancement of digital mathematics learning by providing an engaging, flexible, and effective resource for enhancing students’ understanding of algebraic function derivatives.

Abstract

The importance of the ability to think critically in mathematics learning is contrary to the fact that the development of these abilities is still not optimal. Not many teachers creatively develop critical thinking skills during the learning process. The consequence of the implementation of the 2013 curriculum is the use of a scientific approach to learning, including mathematics. Steps in scientific learning include: (1) observing; (2) ask; (3) collecting information; (4) associate; and (5) communicating. These five steps provide great opportunities for students to be able to develop mathematical critical thinking skills. This study describes the implementation of a scientific approach in learning mathematics, especially in improving mathematical critical thinking skills.
