Abstract

The presence of music in Christianity is not only a gift but an extraordinary divine blessing. Every believer is led to feel God's presence through instrumental and contemporary music tones in his presence in the church. Focusing on reformed church music which tends to use hymn and instrumental music, is self-awareness that every church music has almost the same spiritual level if the goal and focus are God, inseparable from the meaning of the Gospel that will be conveyed. This study uses a qualitative method, in which the author is a sympathizer of the Javanese Christian Church in Celengan, West Tuntang Class, to interpret the congregation's spirituality through church music, which is an integral part of worship and has roots since Christianity arrived from Europe. The form and meaning of church music remain centered on Christ, but Locus prioritizes the culture and traditions of the church. Abstract

In evangelizing, we need to pay attention to who we will evangelize and what factors influence, such as mindset, culture, and habits and characters. Today, evangelism has its challenges in evangelizing the generation of children who live in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and 5.0 era with all the increasingly sophisticated technological developments. If the methods and ways of evangelism still use traditional forms, then the current generation of children will need to understand the salvation carried out by evangelists. This research uses a qualitative description approach by examining library sources. This research aims to find the urgency of finding the principles of effective evangelism to children, namely the doctrine of the Bible and salvation, which must still be the main part for children, as well as the creativity and integrity of the evangelist. While the content principles of effective evangelism relevant to children in the digital age are following Jesus, the best "attachment" commitment, Jesus must be known through intimacy and experience, and not mere knowledge; binding friendship with Jesus is the best decision. Abstract

: Great Commission that should be the responsibility of believers becomes irrelevant in the midst of the challenges of post-modern era where everything is relative. The mission paradigm in this era began to shift, which all were motivated by post-modern culture. In this relative era, digital acceleration can directly make Christians facing global culture of the world that focuses on the universal view which state that Jesus is not the only way to salvation but one of the ways to salvation. This is because the post-modern paradigm of thinking concerning religion is no longer talking about truth but about what does someone want. Of course this is contrary to Christianity which states that Jesus is the final and the only way of salvation. This study uses a qualitative research with a descriptive approach to find out the truth in Paul’s writings in the Colossian Song which describe the pre-existence of Christ. In Paul’s writings especially in Colossians 1:15-20, is a quote from the early church confession that Paul took and used it to show about Christ who is the only God.

Abstract

The encounter between the Gospel and culture often creates tensions. Some of these tensions can be found in some issues of evangelization in the midst of Indonesia's diverse ethnicities and cultures. Local theology is both a strategy and a way out of this problem. Designing and building local theology must be connected to local cultural values. One of the local cultural values raised in this research is sangkan paran found in the Javanese community in Paguyuban Ngesti Tunggal (Pangestu). Through qualitative research methods using interviews, documents and desk research, the values of sangkan paran are explored and assessed from a biblical perspective, resulting in several findings. The findings show many points of convergence as well as points of difference between Pangestu's concept of sangkan paran and that of the Bible. All of these findings become material for the design of local theology that is actualized in the proclamation of the Gospel to the Javanese community in Pangestu Caruban.

Abstract

The influence of hedonistic Greek culture in Corinth had shaped the congregation's lifestyle, emphasising self-interest, competition, and division, thereby eroding Christian love in their faith and church fellowship. This situation caused concern for the Apostle Paul because the Corinthian congregation, despite being rich in spiritual gifts, had lost love as the foundation of relationships, ministry, and the unity of the body of Christ. It is in this context that the phrase ‘hoping all things’ in 1 Corinthians 13:7 becomes a theological affirmation that true love originates from Christ and leads believers to live in active, patient, and unifying hope. The purpose of this article is to examine the meaning of ‘hoping all things’ as an element of the character of God's servants in the implementation of Christ's love based on the perspective of 1 Corinthians 13:7. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method through an exegetical study of the biblical text and an analysis of relevant theological literature and scientific journals. The results of the study show that hope in love is not passive, but rather oriented towards Christ as the centre of faith, example of life, and source of unity. This hope encourages servants of God to continue to prioritise love in the midst of conflict, suffering, and differences in the church and society. Thus, expecting everything in Christ's love becomes an important foundation for the formation of the character of servants of God who are humble, have integrity, and are committed to maintaining the unity of the body of Christ.

Abstract

The main purpose of this article is to explore the ethical meaning of Paul’s statement in 1 Corinthians 13:6, “love does not rejoice in injustice,” and its relevance to the challenges of contemporary society. This study arises from the phenomenon of modern culture that often celebrates success rooted in unjust practices, whether in the political, economic, or digital sphere. This situation raises the question of how the biblical text can serve as a prophetic framework for evaluating and responding to such social realities. This research employs an exegetical method using a historical-grammatical approach, lexical analysis of the Greek terms chairein (“to rejoice”) and adikia (“injustice”), as well as contextual hermeneutics that connects the text with contemporary social praxis. The analysis also examines the rhetorical structure of 1 Corinthians 12–14 and relates it to the perspective of social theology concerning the relationship between love and justice. The findings reveal that Paul not only rejects personal satisfaction over the failures of others, but also criticizes collective euphoria rooted in structural injustice. According to Paul, genuine love directs joy toward truth that builds the faith community and restores communal life. This study emphasizes that love should not merely be understood as an interpersonal relationship, but also as a prophetic public ethic that resists the normalization of injustice. Ultimately, this article offers an understanding of love as a critical, transformative, and justice-oriented ethical-communal orientation within the context of the contemporary world
