Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determinate errors found in “ Matematika SMP Kelas VII Kurikulum 2013” book issued by The Ministry Of Education And Cultures of The Republic Of Indonesia 2013. The aim is used to draw a conclusion about the quality of the book. The research is qqualitative researches that use constan comparative method as the analysis. All of the datum are being identified and are being classified based on the types of errors found in the book. The research uses the degree of trust which is done peers discussion. There are four errors found in the book, they are: (1) miss-concept error, (2) computation error, (3) graphic error and, (4) redaction error. According to the point of view, the book is not maximum in quality yet and still need a revising in order to reach the original goal of the book manufacturing.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to describe (1)) learning process by using Who Want To Be a Star Class to improve students’ learning achievement of mathematics and (2) learning process by using Who Want To Be A Star Class to improve students’ independence in learning mathematics This study reports that (1) there was an average score improvement 63.33 in pre cycle and 67.27 in cycle with the percentage 40%. There was an average score improvement from 63.33 in cycle I and 72.8 in cycle II with the interval score between 75 – 100. Based on the results of analysis, the average score of cycle II was 74 with the percentage 66.67%. (2) Based on the results of analysis, there were 8 respondents in high category (26.67%), 8 respondents in enough category (26.67%), and 14 respondents in low category (46.66%). It could be concluded that the students’ learning independence in cycle I was in low category (46.66%). In cycle II, there were 14 respondents in high category (46.67%), 12 respondents in enough category (40%), and 4 respondents in low category (13.33%). It could be concluded that the students’ learning independence in cycle I was in high category (46.67%). It could be concluded that the students’ learning independence in cycle II was in high category (46.67%). So, successful indicator had been reached out.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve the activity and mathematics achievement of students of class VII with learning methods of problem solving in SMP N 1 Banguntapan. Techniques of data collection in this study was done by observation, documentation, and testing. Test instrument used to test the test item, whereas the observation sheet used to determine the level of involvement of the student. Data analysis techniques for observation sheet was conducted to determine student activity, whereas for mathematics achievement tests done by calculating the average value of the class. The results showed that after the application of the learning methods of problem solving, activity and learning mathematics achievement increased. It can be shown an increase in the average yield percentage of student activity sheets based on the observation student activity first cycle 58.02%, 75% for the second cycle. While the average value of student mathematics achievement increased from an average initial value of 64,34 to 71,99 in the first cycle and second cycle being 80,83. It is expected that schools can apply the learning method.

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to determine: (1) The percentage of error in understanding questions, (2) The percentage of eror in the application of mathematical concepts and principles, (3) The percentages of error in computation, and (4) The most common type of error made by students in answering questions about angle, area, and circumference of triangle. The study population was seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Mlati in Sleman Regency. The technique of sample was Cluster Sampling. The result of analysis showed that: (1) The percentage of error in understanding questions is 12,95% with very low category, (2) The percentage of eror in the application of mathematical concepts and principles is 59,82% with sufficient category, (3) The percentages of error in computation is 30,80% with low category and (4) The most common type of error made by students is application of mathematical concepts and principles. From the analysis it can be concluded that students still make some mistakes in answering questions about angle, area, and circumference of triangle, especially on the type of application error of mathematical concepts and principles.

Abstract

an effort to increase the students’ learning activity and achievement in learning mathematics through snowball throwing learning methods of students grade VII C SMP Negeri 2 Kokap. The type of this research is a classroom action research. The subject of the research are the students grade VII C SMP Negeri 2 Kokap, Kulon Progo. It consists of 22 students. The object of this research is students’ learning activity and achievement in learning mathematics through snowball throwing learning methods. The result of the study shows that after applying this learning method, students’ learning activity and achievement has an increase. Students’ learning activity has an increase in cycle I from 56,4% become 77,46% in cycle II from the observation sheet. Beside that, the subjection mean of students achievement has an increase. In pre-cycle shows 41,89, in cycle I has an increase become 65,51, whereas in cycle II shows the increse become 75,28.

Abstract

The research aims to know the effectiveness of learning mathematics with Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Approach to critical thingking skills of student class VII SMP Negeri 3 Pandak academic year 2013/2014, to know which the critical thingking skills that is better among high, medium, and low student motivation, to know interactions between application of learning model and student motivation. Kind of the research is a quasi-eksperimental. The population of this research was all students of class VII consist of 4 classes in SMP Negeri 3 Pandak academic year 2013/2014. The research sample of 2 classes was taken by cluster random sampling technique. The instrumens of the research consist of documentation, critical thingking math test,observation and questionnaire. The data analysis uses descriptive analysis and two-way ANOVA. The results of the analysis in the research are : 1) Learning mathematics with Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Approach is more effective than conventional approaches to critical thingking, 2) Critical thingking skills of student who have high motivation to learn are  better than students with medium and low learning motivation, critical thingking skills of students with medium learning motivation are better than students with low learning motivation, 3) There is no interaction between learning model and motivation to learn of students based on the critical thingking skills. Thus, the suggestion of the result of this research is learning mathematics with Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Approach can be implemented to improve student’s critical thingking.

Abstract

This research aims to know the tendency of learning outcomes and motivation in learning mathematics X grade of Accounting  at SMK 1 Bawang, Banjarnegara by using Active Learning Methods and types of GGE students who are taught using conventional methods, to determine which methods will give good achievement in mathematics, between active learning method or type GGE and the conventional method, to know which the mathematics learning motivation that is better among high, medium, and low, to know the interaction between of learning method and motivation level. The population of the study was the students X grade at SMK 1 Bawang, Banjarnegara in academic year 2013/2014. Samples were selected 2 classes at 65 students. Data analysis technique used descriptive analysis and hypothesis testing with two-way ANOVA F test. The results of the analysis can be concluded learning outcomes mathematics of the students who are taught with active learning methods GGE type classified as very high (, learning outcomes mathematics of students who are taught with the conventional method is exceptionally high ( ; taught students 'motivation with GGE type of active learning methods is high (, while the students' motivation classes taught by conventional methods were moderate (; classes are taught by active learning method has type GGE mathematics learning outcomes better than the class taught by the conventional method  "; mathematics learning outcomes of students with high motivation better than medium and low motivation, students with motivation are better than low motivation.  there is no interaction between learning method based on the motivation level of students' mathematics learning

Abstract

The main objective of the study is to describe the learning process by using cooperative learning type STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) to increase student’s active and learning achievement of mathematics of the seventh grade students of SMP N 5 Cilacap. The hypothesis in this study is learning mathematic by using cooperative learning type STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) to increase student’s active and  learning achievement of mathematics. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR), which is done collaboratively. The results of the study showed that after the implementation of learning by using cooperative learning type STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) there is an increasing activity in learning mathematics. It seen from the percentage increased from 51,74% for the first cycle and the second cycle becomes 78,13%. The averages of mathematics achievement of the students increased from the beginning (pre-cycle) of 62,94 into a 68,75 in the first cycle and the second cycle increased to 75. The result for mastery learning students increased from pre-cycle by 28,13% to 62,5% in the first cycle and the second cycle increased to 68.75%. So it can be said that the cooperative learning type STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) activity and students' mathematics achievement can be improved.

Abstract

The aim of this observation is to describe the mathematic learning process which apply TGTcooperative type learning method to increase the mathematic proclivity and achievement ofstudent in class VIII C SMP N 2 Sanden, Bantul. The type of this observation is ClassAction Research (CAR). The Data accumulation technique in this observation usingobservation technique, questionnaire technique, test technique, documentation and range ofactivity record technique. After applied the cooperative type TGT learning method in classVIII C SMP N 2 Sanden, Bantul. The result of the observation indicated that the mathematicproclivity and study achievement of student have been advance. Its indicated by the averagepresentation progress of study proclivity student in pra step amounted 48,66% advance to60,31% at the cycle I and 68,88% at the cycle II. The student mathematic achievement areadvance, according to the average of pra step amounted 71,25 to 77,5 and at the end of cycleI and then 82,5 at the end of cycle II. Whereas the student presentation who get point ≥ 75advance too. Which at pra step amounted 35,71% to 64,29% in cycle I and then 85,71% incycle II. According to the observation teachers have to use TGT cooperative type of learningmethod in mathematic course especially in another material as an alternative to advance thestudent proclivity and study achievement in mathematic learning.

Abstract

The purpose of the research to increase student interest and improve learning achievement of students in mathematics class VII B MTsN Sidoharjo Kulonprogo through cooperative learning model Student Team - Achievement Division (STAD). The research was Classroom Action research (CAR) conducted a minimum of two cycles . The subjects in this study class VII B MTsN Sidoharjo Kulonprogro totaling 21 students. Instrument in this study was the observation sheets, questionnaires interest in learning, and individual tests. The main data source in this study were students, teachers, and observations during the action learning in the classroom. The results indicate that the implementation of learning with cooperative learning model Student Team - Achievement Division (STAD) can improve student achievement class VII B MTsN Sidoharjo Kulonprogro. This is evidenced by the increase in the average value of 56.43 into 68.45 before the action in the first cycle and then on the second cycle increased to 75.07. Implementation of learning with cooperative learning model Student Teams - Achievement Division (STAD) can also increase students' interest in learning mathematics. This is evidenced by the increased percentage of each indicator that is the pleasure of a 65 % increased to 79 %, the concentration of learning from 76% to 82 %, the motivation to learn 65 % to 81 %, and interest or curiosity in mathematics from 64 % to 82 %. Suggestion of this research is for researchers who want to conduct similar research, plans should be more mature. And researchers should pay more attention to the maximum again in every student so that the expected interest and achievement can be increased to the maximum.
