Abstract

PT. Cellular Telecommunications is a state-owned institution operating in the telecommunications sector. For this reason PT. Cellular Telecommunications continues to create programs to attract public interest in its products. To achieve success in marketing its products, of course PT. Cellular Telecommunications has prepared several marketing communication strategies before marketing its products in order to increase interest in these products. Therefore, this research aims to determine the marketing communications of PT. Cellular Telecommunications in increasing public interest in its products through advertising on Instagram social media. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach with data collection through interviews and documentation. These results indicate that PT. Cellular Telecommunications has a strategy for marketing its products through Instagram social media.

Abstract

PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero) is a corporation engaged in the maritime and port sector under the auspices of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) headquartered in Belawan, North Sumatra. As a corporation, of course, a campaign is required to inform the business being run so that it is more widely known by the public. As a form of public relations campaign and an effort to socialize its business, Pelindo 1 offers Port Visit activities as a means of learning about the world of ports. This research was conducted to find out how PT Pelindo 1's Public Relations Campaign Strategy in Disseminating its Port Business through the Port Visit program. In this research, it focuses on Port Visit activities with PERHUMAS Muda Medan which was held on February 28, 2020. The type of research that the writer does is descriptive qualitative. In this study, the authors used the theory of Corporate Campaign Theory and AIDDA theory as the basis for campaign marketing. By using the direct observation method where the author participates in the concept-making process and organizing activities as well as the interview method with 5 (five) resource persons, 2 (two) of whom are the Pelindo 1 public relations team, and 3 (three) others are activity participants. The result of this research is that Pelindo 1's PR has made the Port Visit activity a superior program and campaign tool to socialize port business to the community. This is evidenced by the fact that Port visits are registered in the company's Monthly Activity Plan (RKB) and are carried out routinely 2-3 times in a few months. Based on the results of the research, the participants who took part in the Port Visit activity admitted that the concept was not only theoretical but involved directly in the field to see the port area, as well as a fun session as an evaluation stage, making their thinking about the world of the ports and the role and function of ports change not only as a place leaning on ships but serving as a gateway to the world economy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the general election commission in increasing public participation in the 2020 elections for Medan City. The method used in this research is qualitative. The informants in this study were members of the Medan City Election Commission and the public who were registered as the final voter list in the 2020 Medan City Election. The results of the study can be seen that the role that the Medan City KPU has to foster community participation in politics, especially in the Medan City elections from the KPU regarding the implementation schedule, registration, and voter data collection. Then socialization with face-to-face communication through mass media, social media, creative media, KPU announcement boards, and so on.

Abstract

A group of people who have the same goals and vision will form a group. A group can be used as a forum to communicate and exchange ideas and information. In exchanging information, ideas, and ideas some patterns have been agreed upon by the group. This study aims to determine the communication patterns formed by the Child Care Community and the Deli River in building children's morale on the riverside. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach by collecting data through observation, in-depth interviews, and literature study. The results showed that there were forms of communication patterns from the child care community and the Deli River in building the morale of the children on the riverbank, with various patterns of one-way communication, two-way communication.

Abstract

The emergence of the behavior of teenagers who experience character growth often shows negative behavior such as bullying. Based on data from the National Commission for Child Protection, the number of bullying cases among Indonesian teenagers is in fifth place out of 78 countries with the highest number of bullying cases. Efforts to eliminate this action by using family communication. The role of interpersonal communication in the family as a form of overcoming bullying behavior in adolescents. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method which aims to collect data related to family interpersonal communication, in this case carried out by parents in dealing with bullying behavior among teenagers in Medan City. The data collection technique in this research uses interview techniques with parents who have teenage children who are victims of random bullying, observation of activities carried out by parents with children in dealing with bullying behavior in children as well as documentation in the form of other supporting documents. The results of interpersonal communication research conducted by parents with teenagers in dealing with bullying behavior by communicating openly, honestly and being able to listen can prevent bullying behavior among teenagers. The role of the family must be to build communication between parents and children so that it runs smoothly, by actively listening and showing love and attention, so that the tendency of bullying behavior can be prevented and stopped by parents in the family.

Abstract

The development of information currently circulating requires sorting and selecting actions for all information obtained to prevent hoax information. One of the people who must play a role is parents by providing an understanding of the importance of media literacy. This research aims to find out 1) the methods used by parents in supervising their children's use of gadgets and social media, and 2) the role of parents in carrying out media literacy in children so that they can minimize the negative impact usage of gadgets and social media. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews with three informants who already have children in their teens, and each owns a cellular phone. The analysis uses interpersonal communication theory by DeVito, He highlights the importance of effective communication in relationship development, emphasizing that it occurs within specific cultural, social, and environmental contexts. The results were processed by reducing the data, presenting the data, and verifying the data. The research results found that parents' actions towards children in monitoring the use of cellphones and social media are not an act of distrust towards children, but rather an effort to provide literacy to children about the impact of incorrect information.

Abstract

The government's policy on the learning system through network media during the COVID-19 pandemic has pros and cons in the community. For those who are pro against the policy, it is based on the consideration that health is far more important than gaining knowledge through face-to-face in order to anticipate the spread of the corona virus. Meanwhile, those who are against think that learning activities through the network will have an impact on the development of students/children in developing knowledge and the interaction process that is not going well during the pandemic. This study aims to determine how the influence of parental interpersonal communication on children's anxiety during online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The approach used in this study is a quantitative approach with data collection carried out through questionnaires to 400 respondents. The data obtained were then analyzed using SPSS 25.0 software for windows. The results of the study found that interpersonal communication between parents and children carried out during the COVID-19 pandemic related to children's education greatly influenced the development of children's education. The learning system that takes place in a network, makes parents and students experience very significant obstacles. In addition, the learning process through the network also affects the psychology of children's growth and development.

Abstract

Program kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menyampaikan ide dan gagasan bagi remaja terkait pencegahan peredaran dan penyalahgunaan narkoba khususnya bagi para remaja di Desa Helvetia Kecamatan Labuhan Deli Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Adapun lokasi kegiatan ini dilakukan di Masjid Al-Ikhlas Desa Helvetia Kecamatan Labuhan Deli Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dilakukan pada bulan April 2022. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan dengan menggunakan ceramah, diskusi studi kasus serta kegiatan pendampingan bagi remaja seperti melakukan kegiatan positif yang bersifat rutinitas antara lain penguatan organisasi remaja masjid dalam rangka sebagai upaya pencegahan bahaya narkoba bagi remaja. Hasil program diaktualisasikan kegiatan ini memberikan respon positif bagi remaja seperti antusiasme remaja dan banyaknya beberapa pertanyaan yang muncul serta keluhan-keluhan yang sering terjadi dilapangan yang kemudian tim memberikan penjelasan jawaban pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang muncul agar dapat memberikan wawasan pengetahuan untuk anak remaja.

Abstract

In the digital era and current technological developments, there have been changes in human life in various ways, such as communication, especially in obtaining information, so that the negative effects of the digital world cannot be avoided. Therefore, someone needs to have media literacy skills, especially for students so that it can be a tool to reduce the negative influence of the presence of the digital world. Before students can have good media literacy skills, of course, this ability must also be possessed by parents and a teacher. Strengthening literacy skills in a teacher is a very important element because a teacher is a person who will provide learning to students in the world of education. Understanding media literacy is the main foundation in forming a smart and cultured generation in the digital era.

Abstract

Abstrak: Keterbatasan kualifikasi pendidikan, keterampilan kepercayaan diri dan akses pasar yang dialami penyandang disabilitas menjadi penghambat dalam memasarkan produk UMKM mereka seperti kerupuk, pijat dan kerajinan sapu lidi. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, tujuan dari kegiatan untuk mengatasi kesenjangan yang terjadi melalui kemitraan strategis antara platform e-commerce dengan usaha lokal yang dijalankan perempuan disabilitas di DPD PERTUNI Sumatera Utara yang berfokus pada peningkatan skill dalam menentukan akses pasar, pemberdayaan ekonomi, dan pengembangan keterampilan digital berbasis website. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi koordinasi, ceramah dan pendampingan dengan DPD Pertuni untuk memahami kebutuhan dan tantangan dihadapi, melakukan aktivitas renovasi panti pijat agar lebih bersih, nyaman dan layak, peluncuran website dan mendampingi pelatihan tunanetra dalam proses penggunaannya dan menjalin kemitraan dengan pihak eksternal yang mendukung pemasaran dan pengembangan usaha. Peserta program kegiatan ini melibatkan penyandang disabilitas perempuan tuna netra yang aktif melakukan kegiatan wirausaha yang tergabung di dalam organisasi DPD PPDI Sumatera Utara. Hasil kegiatan ini dapat memberikan pemahaman keterampilan kepada perempuan disabiltas untuk mendapatkan akses, keterampilan, dan dukungan dalam memanfaatkan teknologi digital untuk mengembangkan bisnis penyandang disabilitas perempuan untuk meningkatkan akses pasar melalui platform e-commerce dengan tujuan menerapkan teknologi digital yang memungkinkan UMKM tumbuh lebih berkelanjutan.Abstract: The limitations of educational qualifications, self-confidence skills and market access experienced by people with disabilities are obstacles in marketing their MSME products such as crackers, massage and broomstick crafts. Based on these problems, the purpose of the activity is to overcome the gap that occurs through a strategic partnership between the e-commerce platform and local businesses run by women with disabilities in the DPD PERTUNI North Sumatra which focuses on improving skills in determining market access, economic empowerment, and developing website-based digital skills. The implementation method includes coordination, lectures and mentoring with the DPD PERTUNI to understand the needs and challenges faced, carrying out massage parlour renovation activities to make them cleaner, more comfortable and decent, launching the website and assisting training for the blind in the process of using it and establishing partnerships with external parties that support marketing and business development. Participants in this activity program involve women with disabilities who are blind and actively carry out entrepreneurial activities who are members of the DPD PPDI North Sumatra organization. The results of this activity can provide an understanding of skills to women with disabilities to gain access, skills, and support in utilizing digital technology to develop women with disabilities' businesses to increase market access through e-commerce platforms with the aim of implementing digital technology that allows MSMEs to grow more sustainably.
