Abstract

This study aims to develop a learning outcome assessment instrument to determine a tool set's validity, reliability, discrimination power, and level of difficulty. The type of research used is developmental research. The subject of this research is the instrument for assessing the learning outcomes of the excretory system material. The data obtained will be analyzed for validity, reliability, discrimination power, and the level of difficulty of each instrument. The average value of the data analysis test shows that the tested data has high validity, a sufficient level of reliability, moderate discrimination power and a sufficient level of difficulty. The results of data testing carried out in class XII IPA at SMAN 12 Banda Aceh can be stated that the excretory system learning outcomes instrument is feasible to be developed and used in assessing learning outcomes to students.Keywords: instrument, reliability, validity

Abstract

The learning process only focuses on the material by memorizing concepts, students have not utilized worksheets to do practical work optimally, so the biology learning process in schools does not encourage students to practice critical thinking skills. This study aimed to determine the effect of implementing STEM-based student worksheets in improving students' critical thinking skills at SMP Negeri 1 Peusangan, Bireuen Regency. This study used a pretest-posttest control group design. The study population was 88 VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Peusangan. The research sample consisted of 67 students. The sample is determined through the purposive sampling technique. The researcher determines the class of the research sample using purposive sampling. The taking of the experimental class and the control class is determined by looking at the standard deviation of the results of the homogeneous pretest of students (the ability of homogeneous students). Critical thinking skills are measured by multiple-choice questions with reason. It is used to determine the increase and difference in the critical thinking skills of students. Analysis of N-Gain test data, paired sample t-test, and independent sample t-test. The results showed that the implementation of STEM-based LKPD could improve students' critical thinking skills on excretory system material in class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Peusangan. In addition, there are differences in the KBK of students between the experimental class and the control class on the excretory system concept in class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Peusangan.

Abstract

AbstrakPenggunaan model pembelajaran yang tepat dapat membantu meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Salah satunya adalah model guided inquiry disertai socioscientific issues. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh model guided inquiry disertai socioscientific issues terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-experimental design dengan rancangan one group pretest-posttest design. Populasi penelitian yaitu siswa SMAN 1 Samalantan. Sampel penelitan yaitu siswa kelas X IPA 1 dan IPA 2 sejumlah 60 siswa. Instrumen tes berupa soal pilihan ganda dan diuji validitas, reliabilitas, indeks kesukaran dan daya pembeda sebelum digunakan. Data diperoleh dari hasil pretest dan posttest. Uji paired sample t-test digunakan sebagai uji hipotesis dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05 melalui aplikasi SPSS. Hasil uji hipotesis terhadap data pretest dan posttest menggunakan uji paired-sample t-test diperoleh nilai signifikasi sebesar 0,001 dimana nilai ini kurang dari 0,05 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ho ditolak dan H₁ diterima. Artinya penerapan model guided inquiry disertai socioscientific issues terbukti berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi perubahan lingkungan/iklim dan daur ulang limbah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis dan bagian tumbuhan yang berpotensi sebagai obat tradisional dalam mengobati penyakit yang di sebabkan oleh mikroorganisme. Metode penelitian yang dipakai adalah metode observasi dan wawancara. Responden yang diwawancarai terdiri dari 47 orang. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan terdapat 20 jenis tumbuhan yang berasal dari 17 Familia yang berpotensi dan digunakan sebagai obat tradisional untuk mengobati 11 jenis penyakit yang disebabkan oleh mikroorganisme di Seunagan Timur. Tumbuhan yang paling banyak digunakan sebagai tumbuhan obat berasal dari familia Zingiberaceae, Myrtaceae dan Leguminosae. Tujuh bagian tumbuhan yang dimanfaatkan sebagai obat tradisional untuk mengobati penyakit yang disebabkan oleh infeksi mikroorganisme adalah rimpang, daun, buah, kulit buah, air, getah dan biji, bagian tumbuhan yang paling banyak digunakan sebagai bahan pembuatan obat adalah daun (57 %) dan buah (14%).

Abstract

The purpose of this Community Service activity is to provide a training in the preparation of questions in the category of the Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). The specific target to be achieved from this activity is the high school teachers that join in the Biology MGMP group of Aceh Barat District are able to compile HOTs questions category which have been considered difficult. The implementation of these activity is carried out for Biology teachers who are joining in the Group of Biology Subject Teachers Conference (MGMP) at high school level. The MGMP was chosen because it is a form of activity forum in order to address the lack of mastery in preparing HOTS-based questions. MGMP is not only a deliberation institution, but can be used as a scientific forum for the teachers and resource person and also as a peer supervision institution. The target for 2021 activities proposed through this proposal is held for Biology MGMP at Aceh Barat District high school. Mentoring materials are limited to the preparation of HOTS questions. Abstract

Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) plays a crucial role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 by promoting the acquisition of understanding, knowledge, and skills. This study aims to assess the competencies of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) among students, as well as to examine the correlation between ESD competency and students’ environmental empathy in Disaster and Environmental Knowledge at Universitas Syiah Kuala. This study employed a correlation research method with both quantitative and qualitative approaches using random sampling techniques. The random sampling method was used to select 339 participants with a 95% confidence level. Data were collected using an ESD competency test and an environmental empathy questionnaire, and interviews. Data analysis was performed using the Pearson product-moment correlation technique. The analysis results show that the average score for students’ systems thinking competency was 73.67% (good category) and the students’ critical thinking competence is 71.64% (adequate category) and statistical analysis show a significant positive correlation between ESD competency and environmental empathy (r = 0.301), indicating that ESD competency explains 31.1% of the variance in environmental empathy. Therefore, it can be concluded that ESD competency is positively related to environmental empathy, though with a low level of correlation. This study provides valuable insights for universities and stakeholders in designing more effective ESD programs to promote sustainable development especially goals 4 (quality education) and 13 (climate action).
