Abstract

n 2017, the number of cases related to violence against women increased by  400% from the previous year. This research, therefore, aims to analyze behavior difference among domestic violence victims using a quantitative descriptive method. Data were obtained from 64 victims using a Likert scale, while the descriptive techniques and T-Test analysis were used to examine the data obtained. The results showed that the assertive behavior of women victims of domestic violence without elementary education was lower compared to those with junior, high, and college education.

Abstract

Academic anxiety experienced by students in the teaching and learning process in schools often inhibits learning achievement optimally even though various counseling, students should be able to develop the potential within themselves without worrying, but here there are many students who cannot explore the potential within themselves so that academic anxiety occurs. for that we need a group guidance service using the bibliotherapy method. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of group guidance services through bibliotherapy to reduce students' academic anxiety. The research methodology used was quasi experiment. The subjects of this study were 8 grade students of MTsN 6 & MTsN 2 Padang with 10 subjects in the experimental group and 10 in the control group. The research instrument used instrument of academic anxiety. The results showed that there were significant differences in the academic anxiety of the experimental group before (pretest) and after (posttest) taking group guidance services with bibliotherapy and could not have a significant difference in the control group's academic anxiety before (pretest) and after (posttest). The implications of this study are as a basis for counselors to reduce students' academic anxiety.

Abstract

Learning motivation has an important role in student learning process. The objectives of this research are to describe students career planning, to describe student attribution, to describe students learning motivation, to examine the correlation between career planning and students learning motivation, to examine the correlation between attribution and students learning motivation, and to examine the correlation between career planning and students learning motivation. The research uses correlational descriptive type of quantitative method. The population of research are 435 students of Curriculum and Education Technology Major in State University of Padang. A sample of 208 students was chosen by proportional random sampling technique. The instruments used were career planning, attribution, and students learning motivation. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, linear regression and multiple regression. The research findings show that 1) in general students already have a good career planning 2) student attribution is in the middle category 3) student learning motivation is in high category 4) there is a positive significant correlation between career planning and student learning motivation 5) there is a positive significant correlation between attribution and learning motivation 6) there is a positive significant correlation between career planning and attribution with student learning motivation, and (7) the implication of this research findings can be used as a feedback for making a program of guidance and counseling service which can improve career planning, attribution, and students learning motivation.

Abstract

The low student achievement motivation is something that must be considered. Parents attention became one of the factors that can influence student achievement motivation. The purpose of this study to describe the contribution of parent attention to student’s achievement motivation in SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Padang. This research uses regression analysis. In the research took the sample of 233 students by using purposive sampling technique. It was used instrument "Wira Solina Parents Attention Scale" with reliability value is 0.888, and "Achievement Motivation Scale" with reliability value is 0.885. The results of research showed that: (1) Parents attention (Mother) in the high category; (2) Parents attention (Father) in the medium category; (3) student achievement motivation in the medium category; (4) the contribution of parents attention (mother) to the achievement motivation is 14.4%; (5) the contribution of the parents attention (father) to the achievement motivation is 12.9%; and (6) the contribution of parents attention (Mother and Father) to the achievement motivation are 15.6%. The results of research showed that parents’ attention (mother and father) need to improved student achievement motivation, so it can be recommended by counselor teacher to give guidance and counseling services in the school and involved their parents to improve student achievement motivation.
