Abstract

In general, students often feel bored with the learning process so that the subject matter is easily forgotten, this can affect the learning outcomes of a student. The purpose of this research activity is to determine the effectiveness of the project-based learning model in improving the learning outcomes of class X.2 students of SMA N 2 Palembang City on the topic of Environmental Conservation and Change. The method used was Classroom Action Research (PTK) with a research population of SMA N 2 students and the research sample was class X.2 students of 42 students. The results of individual learning mastery on environmental preservation and change material are seen as indicators of success. In cycle I obtained individual learning mastery of 45.23% with the number of students with scores > 70 of 19 students and students with grades < 70 of 23 students. In cycle II it increased by 80.95%, with the value of the number of students who scored > 70 as many as 34 students and students with grades < 70 as many as 8 students. The research results prove that student learning outcomes can be increased effectively by applying the Project Based Learning learning model.

Abstract

The results of an interview with a science teacher in Ogan Ilir district that science teachers mastered the skills of various learning models including direct learning models. Some of the junior high school science materials are declarative or procedural. Material that is declarative or procedural requires skills that are carried out in stages of the entire series of activities displayed. The purpose of this community service activity (CSA) is to improve the ability of junior high school science teachers to master the direct teaching model, compile a direct teaching model rpp and be able to implement the direct teaching model in the classroom. The implementation of the activity is carried out in several stages, namely: 1. The preparatory stage, namely field observations and interviews with teachers, reading references to direct learning model materials, holding discussions with PPM team members, preparing training materials in the form of Power Point, approaching school staff and teachers and coordinating related parties. 2. Implementation stage, namely direct training with training methods, demonstrations and discussions and visualizations. Through CSA activities, science teachers from the Ogan Ilir MGMP groups can compile or modify direct learning models with a scientific approach. MGMP science teachers have been able to make 5 aspects of learning implementation planning (LIP), namely listing: learning indicators and objectives, organizing materials, media and learning resources, learning activity steps, and evaluating learning outcomes. Therefore, the RPP format made by mgmp science teachers in Ogan Ilir district was declared feasible. This is evident from the assessment results with all 100 values. After attending the CSA training material, participants enjoyed the material presented, felt that this material was very necessary and felt that their knowledge increased

Abstract

This study a specific case: whether alterations in butterfly habitats resulting from Swamp Land Conversion (SLC) impact the diversity, species count, and abundance of butterflies, which act as pollinating insects, within Palembang city. This study employs observational methods with a roaming technique, conducted five times at each research location. The research sites were determined using purposive sampling. The findings reveal a total of 230 individual butterflies from 19 species, distributed among five families: Hesperiidae, Lycaenidae, Nymphalidae, Papilionidae, and Pieridae. The highest butterfly diversity index value is recorded at the Alang-Alang Lebar SLC location, whereas the lowest butterfly diversity index value is observed at the swamp land (SL) location. The most recent findings from this study is SLC lead to an increase in the diversity index, species count, and individual butterfly numbers of the Lepidoptera order, particularly in Alang-Alang Lebar SLC and Jakabaring SLC, as compared to SL location on Sungai Ijuk SL. The results suggest that SLC can contribute to the conservation of butterfly species belonging to the Nymphalidae, Papilionidae, Hesperiidae, and Lycaenidae families except the Pieridae family
