Abstract

Not until one has understand and fully realized that participatory action research is less objective that any other shapes of scientific investigation, the conduct of such process remains mysterious and difficult to achieve. This article is aimed at bridging myths in cultivating community of people with facilities of identifying their current stance, investigating their own practices, and able to address the problem to transform them under the limelight of experts. Moreover, the manuscript includes discussions on the nature, dimension and frameworks of participatory action research activity to improve situation, reflect and act again until they see transformation in process through synergistic exertions between those involved. Abstract

Scientific evidence can accumulate to support or rebut theoretical contention or provide the basis for suggesting modifications in a nursing theory only through repeated and rigorous research. Nursing has evolved from periods of being in a traditional observation to scientific patterns of doing nursing care. The early works paved the way to recognize the complicated and yet systematic process of human interactions and documented that the pluralistic understanding of science emphasizes the construction of scientific models and nursing endeavors that are appropriate for a more effective response to the need of health. Further, nurses have to identify his or her working philosophy for the efffective and efficient delivery of care to clienteles. Keywords: Nursing, Development

Abstract

EDITORIAL We need to inform you again that the Aloha International Journal of Multidisciplinary Advancement (AIJMU) has a mission to publish research results and ideas from various disciplines of science and technology. In this editorial, we constantly invite researchers and academics around the world to share their best papers in this journal. In April 2021, we invite authors to publish scientific papers which are a form of document study. In this case, we can accept articles from document studies in short form such as book reviews, but we also look forward to the presence of articles and long forms, such as library research. Book review is a type of short paper (usually contains 1000 to 200 words), which contains a review of a book that the author considers interesting or important. In addition to the title, author and affiliation, this article consists of at least 4 important parts, namely an introduction, a review (a summary of the book's contents, strengths, weaknesses and suggestions if any), conclusions and references. However, authors may write in a different systematics as long as they do not go outside the principles of writing a book review. Meanwhile, library research is one type of qualitative research that emphasizes data sources in the form of documents, although it can be strengthened by other data sources, for example the results of interviews. This type of paper is usually written in a large number of words, for example 4000 to 10000 words, depending on the rules of the journal. There are three main types of literature research: historical studies, biographical studies and document studies. We hope that articles based on document studies will further enrich the database of scientific papers in this journal, which in turn can contribute to the development and advancement of science and technology.

Abstract

In health research, many categorical variables are found that must be analyzed using descriptive statistical methods, then interpreted. Currently, there are still many health researchers who interpret categorical variable data in the health sector in the same way as social research in general, namely focusing on the categories with the largest proportions. In fact, for health research, researchers should focus on the expression of unexpected categories. Therefore, this should be a concern for the health research community, especially in the campus environment as the first place for students and health researchers to study and apply various types of health research. This is an urgency, so that the quality of health research can be immediately improved, especially in terms of data interpretation. It was concluded that there were many errors in interpreting categorical variable data in the health sector, so this had to be anticipated from the time of education on campus.
