Abstract

Coffee is one of the main potentials of Indrokilo Hamlet, Lerep Village, West Ungaran District.  The abundance of the coffee harvest in this region has not been matched by the community's ability to process resources optimally. This service program aimed to provide assistance and training in coffee management according to the standards so that the quality of Indrokilo Robusta Coffee can be optimized. The subjects of this study were the community of Dusun Indrokilo who were the members of the Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT), community shops, and youth groups. The companion partners in this research are the Community Empowerment Team of Djarum Scholarship Plus and the Komunitas Tangan Di Atas (TDA).  The techniques used in this mentoring are in the form of training and coffee processing practices followed by monitoring and evaluation of the end of the activity. The results of this assistance made the community more aware of the importance of Quality Control of coffee;  the importance of product marketing through E-Commerce;  construction of a special drying house for coffee, sorting practices, storage and drying of coffee beans;  assistance and training procedures for processing and packaging of coffee products according to standards. Kopi merupakan salah satu potensi utama Dusun Indrokilo, Desa Lerep, Kecamatan Ungaran Barat. Melimpahnya hasil panen kopi di wilayah ini belum diimbangi dengan kemampuan masyarakat untuk mengolah sumber daya dengan optimal. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pendampingan dan pelatihan pengelolaan kopi sesuai standar agar kualitas dan harga jual Kopi Robusta Indrokilo dapat dioptimalkan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah masyarakat Dusun Indrokilo yang tergabung dalam Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT), tokoh masyarakat, dan kelompok pemuda. Mitra pendamping dalam penelitian ini yaitu Tim Community Empowerment Djarum Beasiswa Plus dan Komunitas Tangan Di Atas (TDA). Teknik yang digunakan dalam pendampingan ini berbentuk pelatihan dan praktek pengolahan kopi yang dilanjutkan dengan monitoring dan evaluasi akhir kegiatan. Hasil dari pendampingan ini membuat masyarakat semakin sadar akan pentingnya Quality Control kopi; pentingnya pemasaran produk melalui E-Commerce; serta pembangunan rumah jemur khusus kopi dan praktek sortasi, penyimpanan dan penjemuran biji kopi; tata cara pengolahan dan pengemasan produk kopi sesuai standar.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are important for students as they enable them to develop social, scientific attitudes, and solve practical problems. This study aims to identify learning methods that can be used to develop critical thinking skills. This research method is a meta-analysis using articles obtained from online journal databases. Data were analyzed quantitatively by calculating the effect size. Based on the results of the study, it can prove that (1) critical thinking skills effectively developed in high school students and (2) learning methods used to train students' critical skills are PjBL and GI.

Abstract

Hydroponics based on bio-entrepreneurship is one of the efforts to protect environmental pollution by utilizing waste into a high use value, one of which is the use of plastic waste as a hydroponic growing medium. This study aims to develop a bioentrepreneurship-based hydroponic leaflet to increase the millennial generation's motivation towards agriculture by utilizing the development of Agricultural Science and Technology through the wick hydroponic system. The method used is five ADDIE paths, namely: Analysis Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The results of the overall validity test data analysis conducted on media expert lecturers obtained a percentage of 70.7%, including the appropriate category. The conclusion of this research is that the development of MeLea Bionic (Media Leaflet Bioentrepreneurship Hydroponics) is appropriate to be used as a reference for making hydroponics to motivate the millennial generation in facing limited land in the city of Semarang.

Abstract

Volunteering project is a social activity which has been done by youth in developing human resources in ‎their environment. It is a teaching activity that volunteers can teach  in school, that is Senior High School (SMA) ‎Theresiana Semarang. There are two kinds of class in this school, they are reular and imerci class which students in ‎imerci class understand and fluence in speaking English. This volunteering project uses teaching method such ‎conversation and public speaking. The aim of the activity is to help the students in developing their speaking ability ‎so that they can communicate using English. Abstract

Information literacy is one of the basic skills that students must have in today's digital era. This research was conducted to analyze the information literacy profile of students in different batch years. This quantitative study compared three groups of data based on the student year. The research population was all biology education students at UIN Walisongo Semarang. The research sample was determined using a stratified random sampling technique to obtain 94 students divided into three grades. The data were obtained using the information literacy test instrument and analyzed using the ANOVA test. Information literacy indicators consist of identifying information, accessing information, evaluating information, using information effectively, and understanding the ethics of using information. The study results show that students in all classes have information literacy skills in the sufficient category, but significant differences exist between batch years. The lowest information literacy ability was in first-year students, followed by second-year students, and the highest in third-year students. The study results indicate the need to increase students’ information literacy.

Abstract

Science learning is a process that is intentionally designed to facilitate the process of learning science. Based on initial observations made by researchers, it is known that MTs Nahjatus Sholihin students have not understood their respective learning styles, so students have been unable to maximize them in the science learning process. This study aims to analyze the VAK (Visual, Auditorial, Kinesthetic) learning styles of VIII-grade students in science subjects at MTs Nahjatus Sholihin, Rembang Regency. This research is quantitative descriptive research. The subjects of this study were all VIII-grade students at MTs Nahjatus Sholihin, with a total of 86 students. This study used the total sampling technique. Data collection methods were carried out through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. Based on the results of observations, it is known that from each class VIII that was analyzed for learning styles, the highest percentage of students had a kinesthetic learning style, with a percentage of 45% in class VIIIA, 40% in class VIIIB, and 41% in class VIIIC, while the lowest percentage of students had a visual learning style with a percentage of 22% in class VIIIA, 29% in class VIIIB, and 28% in class VIIIC.
