Abstract

Natural flow can not be performed in the reservoir from the MD-17 well. The most likely reason is because it is classified as a mature well, so an Artificial Lift is needed. The artificial lifting mechanism used is the Electrical Submersible Pump. In this research, the writer analyze the problem of "Gassy" condition or interference. The MD-17 well problem shows that the free gas in this well is 245.213 mscf. Moreover, the amount of free gas that enters the Pump is 8%. From these problems, it causes ESP become disrupted and not produce optimally. The solution to the gas interference problem at the MD-17 Well is the bleed off method and using Advance Gas Handling. The first method is with bleed off method for improve ESP performance so that production will be stable. Then the second method of handling gas interference is by using Advance Gas Handling. From the data analysis and calculation with the formula for AGH, it can produce efficiency in dealing with Gas Interference, so can produce 64.4 mscf of gas from Pump Intake and then can increasing production.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Well R, a directional well with a depth of 8900 ft, has experienced significant production decline since its initial output of 2875 BOPD in 2011, now producing only 21 BOPD. This study aims to determine the remaining oil saturation and identify the optimal perforation intervals for Well R in Sukowati Field. Located in the East Java Basin, Sukowati Field has carbonate formations with potential as hydrocarbon reservoirs. The study utilized both open hole log and cased hole log data, particularly focusing on Carbon-Oxygen Log (C/O Log) analysis within a depth interval of 8100-8360 ft, to evaluate hydrocarbon potential in cased formations. The initial open hole log analysis identified productive zones through gamma ray, resistivity, and porosity logs. The cased hole log interpretation confirmed potential hydrocarbon layers, specifically between 8200-8300 ft, with an oil saturation of approximately 40%. Based on the findings, a new perforation interval is recommended between 8255-8285 ft to increase hydrocarbon flow, enhancing oil recovery from Well R. This research offers insights into optimizing oil production through advanced well-logging techniques in matured fields.

Abstract

Along with the development and progress of human civilization, the need for electrical energy continues to increase. For this reason, new energy sources are needed so that energy needs can be met. Carbon dioxide (CO2) can be a new energy source obtained from industrial waste energy processing. CO2 is a type of emission that can cause the formation of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and contributes to global climate change. A 6% increase in emissions from 2020 results in emissions of 36.3 giga tons (Gt). One utilization of CO2 emissions that can be done is to convert CO2 emissions into electricity. The data analysis method is done by comparing the technical and economic parameters between the rankine power cycle using H2O as the working fluid and the Allam power cycle using CO2 as the working fluid. The results obtained are that the natural gas-fired Allam cycle has a net HHV and LHV efficiency of 53.17% and 58.90%, respectively. For the coal-fired Allam cycle, the net HHV and LHV efficiencies obtained were 48.88% and 51.44%, respectively. The economic analysis conducted is LCOE, IRR, and NPV. The economic analysis shows that the project is feasible in terms of electricity cost.
