Abstract

This research is based on the social media account of Instagram @humas_pemkomedan which contains the image of Medan City Government. The purpose of this study to determine the public perception about the image of Medan City Government through social media accounts Instagram. Theories used in this study include the theoretical description of communication, perception, society, image, social media, Instagram. The research method used is qualitative descriptive method. Selection of informants here is the people of Medan City who follow social media accounts Instagram @humas_pemkomedan and informants in this study following the principle of saturation where if the data needed is still less will be done addition of informants to get new information until the data obtained reach saturation point that if from the source is the same, then the data collection through the interview is stopped. Data collection   techniques  were  conducted   by  semi-structured interviews to all informants, and the results of this study showed that where the perception of the image is described into the first two aspects through Instagram profile and the second is the content of Instagram @humas_pemkomedan consisting of 6 categories of uploads are as follows: The activities of Medan city administration, news reports on work, information and appeal, congratulations, videos, figures, then Public Perceptions About Government Image Medan City Through Social Media Account Instagram is tend to be positive.

Abstract

Penanggulangan bencana merupakan salah satu bagian dari pembangunan nasional yaitu serangkaian kegiatan penanggulangan bencana sebelum pada saat maupun sesudah terjadinya bencana. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana sebenarnya peranan Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) dalam penanggulangan kasus bencana di Medan dan mencari kepastian dan kebenaran masalah tersebut di atas dan sekaligus mencari jalan untuk pemecahannya berdasarkan pengetahuan ilmiah, sehingga dapat diterapkan secara sederhana mungkin. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskripsi kualitatif sebagai metode analisis data yang mengambil lokasi penelitian di Medan Medan. Data dikumpulkan berdasarkan dengan wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Peristiwa bencana alam seperti kebakaran, Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah Kota Medan (BPBD) telah menunjukkan tugas dan fungsinya dengan memberikan bantuan logistik. Kebakaran yang sering terjadi di Medan yang dipicu kepadatan rumah yang cukup tinggi, padatnya jumlah penduduk dan tertumpu pada satu lokasi juga penyebab kebakaran diakibatkan sarana-prasarana yang dimiliki oleh umumnya penduduk. Pemicu kebakaran yang terjadi adalah hubungan arus pendek atau korsleting listrik dan penyebab lain seperti kompor gas.

Abstract

The Problem in this reseach is how to the service in order to increase the tourist visits of Busung Beach and the obstacles that influence it. Method used was descriptive with a qualitative approach, namely describing data from the field and then explaining it the words. The data collection technique is triangulation in three ways, namely observation, interviews, documentation. This study involvet 7 informant, namely 2 key informants, 2 main informants, 3 additional informants. There are four factors that become the basis for analyzing the Busung Beach tourism servicy strategy, namely strangth, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. From this analysis, there are obstacles that affect tourist visit, namely the lack of community participation, the number of other tours that are competitors, the lack of creativity from the community, the lack of connecktivity, the limited skilled workforce. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the strategy carried out by Busung Beach tourism objecks is to involve the community to maintain the beauty of the beach so that it looks well- geoomed and does  not  affect the natural exoticism of  the beach, provide adequate supporting faciities (prayer rooms, toilets, tourist huts, beachside cafes, boats), showing the hospotality of thr coast guart to tourist visitors, providing a fairly large play area, easy accessability to the beach, which is guaranteed enough security to increase Busung Beach tourism visitors.

Abstract

The quality of service is the priority of PDAM Tirtanadi Tuasan Branch to customers. This research aims to analyze the quality of drinking water services provided by PDAM Tirtanadi Tuasan Branch along with i ts supporting factors and inhibition. The theory used is from Zeithaml and Bitner which is the benchmark of quality judging by several indicators of reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and tangible. The research method used is a qualitative approach by means of observation, interview and documentation. The results of this study show that the quality of drinking water service provided by PDAM Tirtanadi Tuasan Branch is not fully effective. This can be said to have not been effective on the basis of some indicators that were used as a benchmark of research has not been carried out optimally. Supporting factors and inhibition are also determinants of the quality of service provided.

Abstract

This study examines the social relations between Indigenous and ethnic Chinese in the city of Medan ahead of the 2024 election, this research departs from the reality that in the long span of political upheaval that led to social upheaval in Indonesia, Chinese people are often used as an outlet for anger by the masses. Medan is one of the cities that has a record of incidents where Chinese people were the targets of violence. In every political upheaval there is always the role of extra-campus student organization activists. The purpose of this research is to find out how the perceptions of members of the extra-campus student organization at the University of Medan Area towards ethnic Chinese in Medan city ahead of the elections in 2024. This study uses a qualitative approach with a qualitative descriptive method. The results of the study found, Chinese people who live in the city of Medan ahead of the 2024 general election still tend to be the same as before, and efforts need to be made to encourage assimilation by all ethnicities who live together in the city of Medan.

Abstract

The purpose of this socialization is to provide knowledge to mothers about savings and loans, especially women who have a more role and benefit for the welfare and economy of the family. The method used is direct socialization to mothers, in the village of Marjandi Pematang Siantar. From the results of this dedication, that with the SPP mothers can play a role in increasing household income / income so that the economy can be further improved. SPP can help the capital of poor families if they want to open a business so that it is hoped that the community can live in prosperity. the people's economy can be more stable for those who really use it properly and correctly, namely as business capital. Members in a group co-exist and help each other, equally bear if one member does not pay then the other is responsible for the payment.

Abstract

The focus of the research is the communication style displayed by the Head of the Subulussalam Municipal People's Representative Council (DPR-K) in establishing relationships with the people of Subulussalam City. This research was conducted in the City of Subulussalam. Data collection was carried out by means of observation, direct interviews and documentation related to research. As for the resource persons in this study, namely the key informants, the researchers chose the people of Subulussalam City, while those who became additional informants were the Chair of the DPR-K, the Secretary of the Council and Public Relations of the DPR-K Subulussalam. To get valid information in accordance with the author's research needs. The results of the research interview on the communication style presented by the Chairperson of the DPR-K Subulussalam dominate the Equalitarian style and structural style communication styles. This communication is considered effective because it is able to make it easier for the public to receive good information from the Chairperson of the DPR-K Subulussalam. It's just that the communication style possessed by the chairman of the DPR-K Subulussalam as a leader has not been found in all employees or fellow members in the DPR-K Subulussalam office so communication with the community is not very good.

Abstract

Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19) is an epidemic that has an infectious nature. Covid - 19 first appeared in the city of Wuhan, Hubei Province, China and has spread to 190 countries in the world including Indonesia. Officially, WHO as the world health agency named this virus as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-related Coronavirus-2 (SARS_CoV-2) or Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19). The Covid-19 virus outbreak is known to have clinical symptoms in human respiration, even to the point of severity causing death. On March 14, 2020 the Indonesian government declared the Covid-19 outbreak a national disaster. As a result of the Covid-19 outbreak, the Indonesian government took strategic steps to prevent wider cases by issuing PSBB and PPKM policies. This policy aims to break the transmission rate of Covid-19. As an issue and problem, Covid-19 has also not escaped the attention of the Gido District government, so this study aims to find out the role of the sub-district head in preventing and controlling Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19) in Gido District, Nias Regency and to find out the obstacles experienced by the Head of Gido subdistrict in the prevention and control of Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19) in Gido District, Nias Regency. This researcher uses a qualitative method that is descriptive in nature, namely to provide a clear picture of the problem under study. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the role of the sub-district head in prevention and control was effective. This is marked by the activeness of the camat in providing advice and outreach and collaborating between various parties such as the Koramil and puskesmas as well as village government officials to jointly prevent the transmission of Covid-19 and provide health facilities for the community such as masks and hand sanitizers. The sub-district head also took firm action against immigrants to self-isolate. The sub-district head also plays a role in monitoring the process of recusing village funds to be diverted to communities affected by Covid-19 so that people can receive social assistance evenly. The inhibiting factor experienced by the sub-district head is that there are still many people who do not understand the dangers of Covid - 19 and the solution for this is that the sub-district head cooperates with the puskesmas to participate in explaining about Covid-19 and how it is transmitted as well as ways to prevent and overcome it.
