Abstract

Antiretroviral therapy is believed not to be able to cure the disease; however, it can reduce mortality and morbidity. It also improves the quality of life of people with HIV. The success of the HIV/AIDS treatment is determined by adherence to antiretroviral therapy. ARV therapy is given in a long run and can be said as optimal if the compliance reaches more than 95%. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between certain factors and adherence to ARV therapy in people with HIV/AIDS. The design of this study was a descriptive correlational study with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 198 patients were recruited through a purposive sampling technique. The result of the study showed that there was no relation between adherence with age (p-value of 0.327), education (p-value of 0.859), and treatment (p-value of 0.74). From this study, it can be recommended that nurses need to improve their HIV counseling skills, especially about the benefits of adherence using a communicative media. Hospitals should also encourage more support to achieve better adherence in patients living with HIV/AIDS. Keyword: Adherence, HIV/AIDS, Antiretroviral Therapy

Open Heart Prayer Therapy is given 2 times a day for 6 weeks. The independent variables were age, gender, education level, length of diagnosis, stigma and family support. Statistical tests used Wilcoxon, Mann Whitney, and Ordinal Logistic Regression. The results showed that there was a difference in the mean level of depression after being given Mindfulness Based Intervention: Prayer to Open Heart in the intervention and control groups with a significance level of 0.000 <0.05. And there are differences in the level of depression before and after being given Mindfulness Based Intervention: Open Heart Prayer in the intervention group with a significance level of 0.000 <0.05. There is an effect of Mindfulness Based Intervention: Open Heart Prayer on the level of depression with a P Value of 0.040 <0.05. However, there was no significant effect on the level of depression partially with gender p. Metode penelitian dengan analitik observasional dengan pendekatan cross secsional terhadap 53 keluarga di komunitas Gereja GBKP Cikarang. Abstract

Asthma is a disorder in the form of chronic inflammation of the airways, resulting in the narrowing of the airways, thereby increasing resistance to airflow and decreasing the expiratory flow rate. Asthma management is not only pharmacological but also non-pharmacological. The latter includes exercises incorporating progressive muscle relaxation and diaphragm breathing exercise which can increase peak expiratory flow. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of incorporating progressive muscle relaxation and diaphragm breathing exercise on the increase in peak expiratory flow (PEF) of asthma patients. The research method was quasy experimental pre-test and post-test with control group. The number of research respondents was 80 people, divided into 2 groups, namely 60 people in the intervention group and 20 people in the control group. The results of the paired sample t-test difference in the intervention group showed a significant difference in PEF before and after the intervention (65.05% vs 81.17%, p = 0.00). The results of the independent t-test showed a significant difference between the PEF of the intervention group and the control group (81.17% vs 65.10%, p = 0.00). In conclusion, incorporating progressive muscle relaxation and diaphragm breathing exercise has an effect on the improvement of PEF.

Abstract

Pediatric palliative care focuses on providing holistic and integrated care to improve the quality of life for children and adolescents with underlying illnesses. The challenge faced by nurses is to equalize the perception between parents and the medical team in carrying out palliative care.  This study aims to determine the factors related to nurses' knowledge about palliative care for children with cancer at hospitals in the Jakarta area. This research used a cross sectional design with a total sampling technique of 47 respondents. The measuring tool used was a nurse knowledge questionnaire about palliative care originating from Abuhammad's research which had been translated and modified by the researcher. Data analysis used SPSS version 25 with the Spearman's rho statistical test which was used to test the strength of the relationship between two variables that were not based on actual data values. The results of the study showed that there was no relationship between age (p = 0.961), last education (p = 0.822), length of work (p = 0.307), skills possessed (p = 0.076), and mastery of work (p = 0.272) with Nurses' knowledge about palliative care. Nurses need to increase their knowledge which can be done by participating in training and education about palliative care, so that they can increase nurses' self-confidence.
