Abstract

Handball sport is a team sport where in one team there are seven players including 6 players and one goalkeeper and has the aim of putting the ball into the opponent's goal as much as possible and is played in two categories of men and women. In the sport of handball, arm muscle explosiveness is needed when shooting and also passing. This study aims to determine the effect of load training using bench press on the explosive power of the arm muscles of handball athletes. This research is a quasi experimental study with a one group design conducted an initial test and final test (one group pretest posttest design), this study uses the VBT metric application to make it easier to analyze the training program. The subjects in this study were 14 male athletes from Lamongan Regency with age categories 16 - 23 years and body weight between 52 - 85 kg, and Body Mass Index (BMI) found 11 athletes with normal weight, 1 athlete with less weight, and 2 athletes with excess weight. The instrument used in this study was the two hand medicine ball push test. The data collected from the results of this study were analyzed using normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis testing. The results showed the value of t count = 16.369> t table 2.160 or the significance value of ρ of 0.000 <0.05 and there is a difference in the average value of 1.2179. So the conclusion that can be drawn is that weight training using bench press can provide a significant influence on increasing the explosive power of the arm muscles.

Abstract

Abstract

Football is a global sport that has many fans. This sport is easy to follow, it can be seen from the euphoria of the supporters of each team. But since the pandemic, the euphoria has begun to have very few followers. The 2021 Copa America was supposed to be held in 2020, but was postponed by a year due to the pandemic. Finally, CONMEBOL confirmed the tournament would take place at the Maracanã. The purpose of this study is to understand the effectiveness of Argentina and Brazil in the Copa America 2021 Final match which the final score was 1-0 for Argentina's victory. The research method used is quantitative descriptive. The source of this research data comes from the video of the 2021 Copa America Final match. The results of research in the Copa America 2021 Final match Brazil made accurate passes as many as 423 (86%) and inaccurate 65 (14%), successful shooting 2 (28%), successful dribbling as much as 18 (54%), control obtained 316 (97%) and precise heading as much as 11 (65%). Brazil's playing technique should have been favored but could not break Argentina's goal. Argentina with a 4-4-2 formation is able to withstand Brazil's attack using a 4-3-3 formation which should have many opportunities options. After an analysis of the performance of the Brazilian National Team's playing techniques, a good conclusion was obtained, but the existing advantages were not utilized optimally and the opportunities obtained will be used as material for team evaluation in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of squat training on increasing the leg power of volleyball extracurricular students at SMP Negeri 1 Karanggeneng Lamongan. Leg power is an important factor in volleyball athletes' performance, especially in making jumps for smashes and blocks. Squat exercises were chosen because they are effective in increasing the strength of the leg muscles, which contributes to increased jumping explosiveness. The research method used was an experiment with a pretest-posttest design in two groups: the group that was given barbell squat exercises and the control group without treatment. The research sample consisted of 24 students who were members of volleyball extracurriculars. Limb power measurements were carried out using vertical jump tests before and after treatment. Data analysis uses normality test, homogeneity test, and t-test with the help of SPSS software. The results showed that there was a significant increase in limb power in both treatment groups compared to the control group. The squat barbell group showed a higher increase compared to the control group without treatment. This shows that squat exercises, especially with additional weight, have a positive effect on increasing leg power. Based on these findings, it is recommended that squat exercises be included in students' physical training programs, especially in volleyball, to improve athletes' jumping performance. In addition, further research with longer exercise durations and larger sample sizes is recommended to obtain more comprehensive results.
