Abstract

Physical education is crucial for the whole growth of students, thereby addressing cognitive, motor, social, and emotional dimensions. However, studies conducted on fourth grade children at Suci State Elementary School revealed that certain pupils exhibited suboptimal gross motor abilities, which can be attributed to less engaging instructional approaches. This study suggests implementing a conventional game-based sports program prior to learning activities as a means to enhance students' gross motor skills. There is an expectation that this method will enhance students' motivation and engagement in an enjoyable learning experience, therefore facilitating the optimal development of their motor skills. Objectives. Evaluate the impact of pre-learning sports programs on enhancing pupils' gross motor abilities. Materials and Methods. The employed methodology is the Experiment with Preexperimental Design, specifically the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design type. The study sample consisted of 14 individuals selected using the purposive sampling technique. Using Locomotor Basic Movements, the study instrument assesses 12 competencies, which include: During the initial 6 skills, I prompt the child to transition between different locations using various methods. Furthermore, throughout the final 6 talents, the youngster will demonstrate their proficiency in ball control through several means. The acquired data underwent systematic analysis in multiple phases, encompassing normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing. Results. Based on the data analysis conducted using the t-Test: Paired two samples for means, it is evident that the obtained significance is 0.000. Since the significance is less than 0.05, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected in favor of the alternative hypothesis (H1). Therefore, it can be concluded that implementing a sports program before learning activities can enhance students' gross motor skills. Conclusions. Implementing fitness initiatives prior to educational activities might enhance pupils' gross motor skills.

Abstract

Study purpose. Improving physical performance is crucial for football players, where flexibility and agility are key components that affect movement efficiency and injury prevention. This study aims to determine the effect of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) training on improving the flexibility and agility of football players. Materials and Methods. Total of 25 football players from Persigar Garut participated in a one-group pre-test and post-test experiment. Flexibility was measured using the Sit and Reach Test and agility was measured using the Illinois Agility Sprint Test. The validity and reliability of the instruments were ensured to guarantee the accuracy of the measurements. Results. Data analysis using the paired t-test showed a significant improvement ($p < 0.05$) in both factors after the intervention. Average flexibility increased by 23.8% and agility increased by 12.26%. These results confirm that PNF training effectively improves both performance variables. Conclusion. PNF exercises are recommended as an effective method for improving athletes' range of motion and speed of change of direction. The contribution of this study is to provide a scientific basis for incorporating PNF as a standard training programme, and further research can focus on comparing PNF with other stretching methods and its impact on long-term injury prevention

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of resistance band training on shooting speed in hockey. The method used was an experiment with a quantitative approach employing a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study sample was selected using total probability sampling and consisted of 15 participants from the hockey extracurricular program at SMAN 11 Garut. The instrument used was a shooting speed test with the aid of measuring devices such as a speed gun or the Pitchlab app. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, a normality test, and a paired-sample t-test at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed an increase in the mean score from the pretest to the posttest. The normality test indicated that the data were normally distributed (Sig. > 0.05). The results of the paired-sample t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating a significant effect. Thus, it can be concluded that resistance band training is effective in improving shooting speed in hockey. This study has limitations regarding the relatively small sample size and the absence of a control group, so the results cannot yet be widely generalized. Therefore, future research is recommended to use a larger sample, include a control group, and examine other variables such as shooting accuracy and power to obtain more comprehensive results.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low effectiveness of the SMAN 15 Garut futsal team’s attacks, as reflected in a passing accuracy below 65%, a dribbling success rate of only 40–45%, and a goal tally of just 4–5 goals per match. The objective of this study was to analyze the effect of implementing an attacking strategy using a progressive method on improving playing skills to score goals. The method used was an experiment employing a True Experimental Design of the Pretest-Posttest Control Group type. The sample consisted of 28 students randomly divided into experimental and control groups. The intervention was administered over 8 weeks at a frequency of 3 times per week. Futsal skills were measured using the validated Games Performance Assessment Instrument (GPAI). The results showed that the experimental group experienced an average total increase of 23.3 percentage points (from 49.0% to 72.3%), while the control group increased by only 5.7 percentage points (from 46.0% to 51.7%). An Independent Samples t-test confirmed a highly significant difference (p < 0.001) with a Cohen’s d effect size of 1.84 (very large category). In conclusion, the implementation of an attacking strategy using a progressive method is highly effective in improving dribbling, passing, and shooting skills to score goals in the futsal games of students at SMAN 15 Garut.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low passing accuracy of futsal players at the Assanusiyah Futsal Academy, with an average accuracy of only 56.35%, and a training program that remains too general. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of implementing variations in wall pass drills on improving passing accuracy among futsal players at the Assanusiyah Futsal Academy. The method used was an experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 15 adolescent futsal players participating in the training program at the academy. Data collection was conducted through a passing skill test using a scoring system based on the number of successful passes on target. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, a normality test, and a paired-sample t-test for hypothesis testing. The results showed that the pretest mean of 11.27 increased to 15.67 on the posttest, with a mean difference of 4.40 or 39.04%. The results of the hypothesis test showed that the calculated t-value of 18.721 was greater than the critical t-value of 2.145, with a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05); therefore, H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant effect of implementing variations in wall pass drills on improving the passing accuracy of futsal players at the Assanusiyah Futsal Academy. Wall pass drills are recommended as an effective training method for improving passing accuracy in futsal.

Abstract

Physical education is a learning process that utilizes physical activity as a medium to achieve educational goals. It not only utilizes physical activity to achieve the goals of physical education, but also other equally important aspects, namely psychological and social aspects, to build a better character for children. To achieve learning goals, students must be motivated in learning activities. Because learning outcomes will be optimal if students be motivated from within themselves (internal) and from outside (external). According to observations made by researchers, obstacles to student motivation can be influenced by environmental conditions. Therefore, by using the inquiry learning model, it is expected that students can increase their motivation in learning influenced by the inquiry learning model. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was an influence on learning in cycle I and Cycle II. This study is a continuous experimental study and quantitative research using Classroom Action Research design. The population in this study were all students of SMPN 4 Tarogong Kidul Class IX-G, totaling 30 people. The sampling technique used was Purposive Sampling. Data analysis in this study used tests, observations, questionnaire tests. Based on the results of the data analysis carried out, it stated that there were changes in cycles I and II from the results of the questionnaire respondent data distributed with a percentage value of 80.0%.
