Abstract

Family Planning Program is one of the ways that can be taken by the government in overcoming population problems. Efforts to reduce birth rates are not solely the responsibility of wife but also the responsibilities of husband. The participation of men in family planning is a determining factor for the success of the family planning program. This study aims to find out phenomena that occur in society, related to male behavior in family planning at the Work Area of Ciruas Community Health Center, Serang Regency in 2019. The research method uses a phenomenological approach by means of observation and in-depth interviews related to men's knowledge about family planning, availability of facilities and wife support. The data analysis technique used in this study is inductive by analyzing data, reducing data, categorizing data display, and finally making conclusion. The results showed that all informants had less knowledge about male contraception, some informants did not have support from their wives, and some informants assumed that male contraception was not available. Knowledge, wife's support and availability of facilities influence men's behavior in family planning.

Abstract

Hyperbilirubinemia is one of the most common causes of infant death, caused by emergencies and complications in neonates. Many factors that influence Hyperbilirubinemia are preventable. This research aims to determine the relationship between gestational age, birth weight, type of childbirth and breastfeeding with the occurrence of hyperbilirubinemia in infants at the perinatology ward of Doctor Drajat Prawiranegara Regional General Hospital in 2020. This research is analytical with a case control design. The study population was all infants treated at the perinatology ward as many as 14,937 babies. The sample size was calculated using the odds ratio hypothesis test formula, obtained 22. The number of case samples was 22 babies and the control was 44 babies (1:2), so the total samples were 66 babies. The bivariate data analysis used chi square and the multivariate used multiple logistic regression. The research result showed there was a significant relationship between gestational age (P: 0.006), birth weight (P: 0.002), types of childbirth (P: 0.001) and breastfeeding (P: 0.000) with the occurrence of hyperbilirubinemia. The dominant factor affecting the occurrence of hyperbilirubinemia is breastfeeding. Early initiation of breastfeeding and motivating mothers with baby with hyperbilirubinemia not to panic and continue to breastfeed on demand are efforts to reduce hyperbilirubinemia.

Abstract

The treatment of dysmenorrhea mostly used pharmacological therapy but rarely applied phytopharmaceuticals such as acupressure and aromatherapy. The purpose of this study was to analyze the application of acupressure using lemon essential oil aromatherapy to treat dysmenorrhea pain in adolescents. The research type was quantitative and the research design was quasi experiment with non-equivalent control group design. The population of this study amounted to 185. The sampling technique used a non-probability sampling approach (saturated sampling). The sample size was determined by using calculations from Sastroasmoro & Ismael with a total sample of 52 people consisting of 26 in experimental group and 26 in control group. The data analysis used Wilcoxon signed rank test to examine the experimental and control group and Mann Whitney to compare them. The results of statistical analysis using Wilcoxon signed rank test for the experimental group (p=0.000) and the control group (p=0.000) showed that lemon oil essential therapy was effective in overcoming dysmenorrhea. The results of statistical analysis using Mann Whitney obtained p value 0.000 which is smaller than (p<0.05). It can be concluded that acupressure using aromatherapy is more effective in reducing dysmenorrhea than acupressure alone. The acupressure given made the respondents relaxed and their immunity increased, and the massages using aromatherapy that is inhaled to the lungs provides benefits both psychologically and physically.

Abstract

Early marriage is a phenomenon that occurs at the national and international levels, one of which is in Indonesia, according to the results of the Banten Province BKKBN Youth SKAP data in 2019 there are still many people who marry under the age of 18. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between education, place of residence, and ethnicity with early marriage in women of childbearing age in Banten Province in 2019. This research was quantitative analytic with a cross-sectional approach. Independent variable; education, place of residence, and ethnicity. The dependent variable is early marriage. Respondents were all data on women of childbearing age contained in the 2019 Banten Province BKKBN SKAP data, which amounted to 1709 people. Data collection uses data from the 2019 Banten Province BKKBN SKAP which is already available. Bivariate data analysis using chi-square. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between education (P: 0.000), place of residence (P: 0.000), and ethnicity (P: 0.000) with early marriage. Education can influence a woman to delay the age of marriage. The longer a woman attends formal education, the higher the age at first marriage, and women who live in rural areas have a higher tendency to marry young than women who live in urban areas and certain ethnic groups have a very close relationship with the occurrence of early marriage.

Abstract

One of the complaints during menstruation is dysmenorrhea. Non-pharmacological therapy becomes the main alternative to overcome dysmenorrhea. However, few studies discuss it. The purpose of this study was to analyze various non-pharmacological therapies (aromatherapy, warm compresses, deep breathing relaxation, music therapy, and physical exercise) to treat dysmenorrhea pain in adolescents. This study used a pre experimental pretest-posttest design. Of the 114 total population, the sample was taken by using a quota sampling technique and amounted to 65. The research data analysis used Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The results showed that the 5 non-pharmacological therapies could treat dysmenorrhea pain in adolescents with P value 0.001 for aromatherapy, P value 0.001 for warm compresses, P value 0.004 for deep breath relaxation, P value 0.001 for music therapy, and P value 0.001 for physical exercise. Adolescents can do their favorite things as a non-pharmacological therapy to divert pain due to dysmenorrhea; thus, their daily activities are not disturbed and can be more productive.

Abstract

Herbal therapy of boiled lemongrass and honey water is one alternative treatment in lowering blood pressure. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of lemongrass honey (Ina. serdu) herbal therapy on hypertension in women. The research design used a pre-experiment one group pre-test post-test. The study was conducted in Serang City, Banten Province, namely at the Singandaru Health Center working area with a sample of 25 respondents. The sampling technique was quota sampling. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon signed rank test with a significance level of 95% (α 0.05). The results showed that on the 7th day of giving lemongrass honey (serdu) herbal drinks there was a decrease in systolic blood pressure (p value <0.001) and diastolic blood pressure (p value <0.001). An alternative choice for the treatment of women's hypertension is lemongrass honey drinks. However, further research was needed to ensure the effectiveness and safety of lemongrass honey drink in long term, especially for mothers who suffer from certain medical conditions.
