Abstract

Pregnant women, who are at a higher risk of getting the coronavirus than other populations, have felt the psychological effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Avoiding antenatal care (ANC) appointments due to anxiety puts the mother and fetus at risk for complications like undiagnosed bleeding at any point in the pregnancy. The purpose of this study is to examine whether or not pregnant women's fear about the Covid 19 epidemic affects their likelihood of keeping up with their scheduled ANC checkups. Analytical approaches based on cross-sectional studies. During April and May of 2021, investigators visited the Sibulue Health Center in Bone Regency. The demographic requirements are met by the responses of 48 pregnant women in their second and third trimesters who are able to explain their sentiments and anxieties. Twenty-eight pregnant women (58.3%) and nine pregnant women (18.0%) who did not suffer anxiety made frequent ANC visits to healthcare facilities throughout the Covid-19 epidemic. Among pregnant women, 18 (37.5%) had anxiety and were not attending ANC on a regular basis. Nine pregnant women (n = 9) did not report experiencing any anxiety, however two of them did not obtain consistent ANC. Using a chi-square test, we found a significance level of 0.001. (p 0.05). Women's worry during pregnancy was associated with their use of prenatal care services during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Stunting is a problem of malnutrition and is one of the common causes of morbidity and mortality in children, which is characterized by children who are smaller than their age. One strategy to overcome stunting is to provide educational interventions regarding stunting for pregnant women to increase knowledge about prevention and early detection of stunting using e-modules. This study aims to produce an e-module educational media product for preventing and early detection of stunting to increase knowledge of pregnant women. The research design uses R & D (Research and Development) and refers to the development stages of Borg & Gell to produce e-modules and the type of Quasi Experimental Research (Pre-Post Test Design) conducted on 44 pregnant women. Purposive sampling technique. Each pregnant woman was given a pre-post-test questionnaire along with an e-module for prevention and early detection of stunting. The feasibility test for the prevention and early detection of stunting e-module uses a Likert scale that is rated by the validator and for effectiveness, uses a Pre-Post Test questionnaire. The Wilcoxon test was used to determine the effectiveness of the stunting prevention and early detection e-module on increasing knowledge of pregnant women. The results showed that the value (p = 0.000 <0,05) which means that the stunting prevention and early detection e-module is effective in increasing the knowledge of pregnant women to prevent and early detection of stunting.

Abstract

Stunting has a big influence on children's growth and development, both motoric and verbal development. Stunting can be prevented by fulfilling quality energy intake. Modification of additional food for toddlers by using local food through a touch of technology is the strategy offered in this research. This study aims to evaluate the effect of fortification of Moringa leaf flour in milkfish crackers on organoleptic characteristics, including color, aroma, texture and taste. The cracker samples were fortified with Moringa leaf flour at concentrations of 0%, 2.5%, 5% and 7.5%. The assessment is carried out by panelists who provide scores for each parameter. The results showed that fortification up to 2.5% did not affect color and aroma, and improved texture, but reduced taste acceptability. Fortification at levels of 5% and 7.5% reduced the acceptability of taste and color although the texture remained good.

Abstract

: Coughs and colds in babies and toddlers can be caused by many factors. Most of the causes are viruses. Treatment for acute coughs and colds can be done in 2 ways, namely pharmacological and non-pharmacological. Non-pharmacological treatment can be complementary therapy or common cold therapy, which is a relaxation therapy to reduce feelings of anxiety and depression in respiratory tract disorders. The aim of this activity is to increase mothers' knowledge about how to do Common Cold massage for non-pharmacological treatment of coughs and colds. Community service activities are carried out to increase students' knowledge about the impact of early marriage. Community service activities are carried out using the lecture (counseling) method and practicing the Common Cold massage method. Before and after counseling students were given pre-test and post-test questionnaires. As a result of this activity, mothers' knowledge before counseling was in the good category was 5 people (26.3%) and after counseling, knowledge in the good category increased to 17 people (89.5%). This shows that there is an increase in mothers' knowledge about Common Cold massage therapy after the counseling was carried out.

Abstract

Hypertension is a global health problem whose prevalence continues to increase every year. This condition is not only a major cause of cardiovascular disease but also contributes to high morbidity and mortality rates in various countries, including Indonesia. One risk factor mitigating this problem is low public awareness of the importance of routine blood pressure monitoring. Therefore, promotive and preventive efforts are needed through health education that is easy to understand and can be applied in everyday life. This community service activity aims to increase public knowledge, especially among the elderly, about hypertension and the application of simple non-pharmacological therapies. One method introduced is soaking feet in warm water with added salt. This method is considered safe, practical, and cost-effective, making it suitable for elderly people in rural communities. The activity was carried out in Mauleng Hamlet, Paccing Village, Awangpone District, Bone Regency, with 15 elderly participants. The activity method included a pre-test to determine the participants' initial level of knowledge, counseling on hypertension, direct compression using warm water and salt foot soaks, and a post-test to measure knowledge improvement. The results showed a significant increase in participants' level of knowledge. Prior to the outreach program, only 7% of respondents had sufficient knowledge about hypertension and non-pharmacological therapy. After the outreach and reinforcement program, this figure increased to 87%. These results indicate that health education combined with practical demonstrations is highly effective in increasing public knowledge. Therefore, it can be concluded that educational activities and warm salt foot soak therapy have proven effective in increasing public understanding of non-pharmacological hypertension management and have the potential for widespread implementation as a health promotion measure.
