Abstract

Plant diversity indicates the existence of various variations in shape, color, body structure, and the amount contained in an area or ecosystem. The purpose of this study was to describe the types and number of index values for the diversity of types of flower plant in the yards of the residents of Mandikapau Barat Village. The method of this research was to determine the location by means of a survey, determine the area of the yard, take samples by purposive sampling technique, identify the types of flower plant using plant morphology book, and conduct data analysis by calculating the importance value index, species diversity index, dominance index, and abundance index. type. The results of this study found that there were 60 types of flower plant with an average abundance of 1087 ind/m² and 34 famili; RT 1 (26 species with an average abundance of 317 ind/m² and 20 famili); in RT 2 (26 species with an average abundance of 318 ind/m² and 22 famili); and in RT 3 (49 species with an average abundance of 452 ind/m² and 30 famili). The types of flower plant that were mostly found in RT 1 were dahlia flowers (Zinnia elegans L.) 16.72%; in RT 2, namely dahlia flowers (Zinnia elegans L.) 21.70%; and in RT 3, namely linjuang (Cordyline fruticosa L.) 14.38%. Plant in the tree ornamental plant category were 1.7%, leaf ornamental plant were 13.3%, and flower ornamental plant were 85%. The overall value of the diversity index of flower plant is 2.71, which is in the medium category. The overall value of the domination index of 0.1 for flowering plant is in the low category. The overall value of the abundance index of types of flower plant is 0.78, belonging to the high category. The overall value of the important value index of 0.67% for flowering plant is classified in the high category.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the density and distribution of the taro plant and to obtain information about the knowledge of the local population on the cultivation technique of taro (Colocasia esculenta L. Shoot) in Karang Intan Village, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan. Taro cultivators was carried out by interview method with 10% of respondents. The interview were made a comparison percentage and discussed descriptively. The results showed that the taro cultivators are dominated by women (56.25%) and the rest 43.75% are men. Respondents majority were from the age group 41-50 years (43.75%) and the lowest (12.5%) was from the age group 21-30 and 31-40 years. Farmers are the most occupied livelihood (75%) and the rest are fish farmers (25%). Taro cultivators in Karang Intan Village still apply simple cultivation techniques and local wisdom that are hereditary.

Abstract

The yard plays an important role in meeting the needs of the community, namely by planting in the yard of the house, especially to meet the needs of the household, especially in meeting the needs of the family's home food, can be planted with food crops such as fruit, vegetables, tubers, spices, etc. The aim of the research was to study the types of food plants found and to know the abundance index and dominance index of food plants found in Mandikapau Barat Village. The method of this research is to determine the area of the yard, take samples of the yard, identify the types of food plant categories (fruits, vegetables, tubers, and spices), and calculate the abundance index and dominance index of these food plants. Results Food plants found totaled 25 families 32 genera 40 species (27 fruits; 5 vegetables; 2 tubers; 6 spices). The highest relative abundance index of the three locations was in the category of spices, bulbs, fruits, vegetables with a value of (28%; 6%; 5%; 4%) with galangal, cassava, papaya and cayenne pepper plants. The average dominance index shows a value of 0.131 which is included in the low category.KEYWORDS: Mandikapau; Kabupaten Banjar; food plant; dominance index

Abstract

Abstract

Kombinasi pengetahuan, praktik lapangan, dan dukungan peternak diperlukan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan pengelolaan koloni dan penyediaan pakan Lebah kelulut berkelanjutan. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan keterampilan pengelolaan koloni Lebah kelulut Heterotrigona itama melalui pemilihan lokasi budidaya bagi peternak Lebah Madu Rafasya dan generasi milenial di Desa Padang Panjang Kabupaten Banjar. Kegiatan ini meliputi pemilhan lokasi meliponikultur dan pengelolaan koloni lebah kelulut. Peserta sebanyak 14 orang generasi milenial dan 2 orang anggota peternak. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan hutan di Bukit Bandangan dan Kebun Karet dipilih sebagai lokasi meliponikultur oleh peternak lebah madu Rafasya.  Praktik pengelolaan koloni Lebah kelulut dilakukan melalui donor koloni dan menjaga kebersihan koloni pada meliponikultur di Kebun Karet. Partisipan terbanyak berasal dari Banjarbaru (47%), kemudian Kabupaten Banjar dan Kabupaten Tabalong sebanyak 13%.  Implikasi menunjukkan 71% peserta meningkat pengetahuannya terkait meliponikulutur di Desa Padang Panjang.

Abstract

The availability of food sources is very important for stingless bee farmers in Sungai Tiung Village, Banjarbaru City. Pollen is a food source that contains protein, vitamins, fats, and minerals that are important for bees. Pollen identification can be an indicator of the types of plants that bees feed on. This study aims to identify the types of pollen found in Heterotrigona itama nests and analyze each pollen category based on pollen percentage. The research was conducted at three different locations: Cempaka Kelulut, Cempaka Beton, and Kelulut Kalimantan. Samples were collected using purposive sampling. The acetolysis method was used as an indicator to identify pollen types. Pollen was identified by comparing and matching the observed characteristics with images or literature from identification guides, journals, and research theses. Based on the research results, the types of pollen found in Heterotrigona itama nests at the three meliponine beekeeping locations in Sungai Tiung Village were highly diverse. The pollen originated from 18 plant species and 13 plant families. Based on the percentage at Cempaka Beton, the dominant pollen is Scoparia dulcis (40%) and Phyllanthus urinaria (27.5%) as secondary pollen. At Cempaka Madu Kelulut, Phyllanthus urinaria is the predominant pollen (57%), while at Kelulut Kalimantan, Mimosa pudica dominates with (53.1%)

Abstract

 Phosphorus compound in the critical land is relatively low that caused phosphorus is bonded to metals. The isolate BRC-AP and BRC-AK are a phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) indigenous critical land that has the ability to dissolve phosphate. The used of phosphate solubilizing bacteria are able to improve plant growth on critical lands. The aimed of this study was to measure the growth rate of shoot length, root length and biomass of root, and leaf cuttings elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum cv. King Grass) which inocu-lated with the consortium of phosphate solubilizing bacteria and IAA producing mold. Phosphate dissolving activity is determined by the formation of clear zone in solid Pikovskaya medium, synergism assay between bacteria and fungi observed on SDA medium then proceed testing the ability of bacteria and fungi consortium to promote plant growth. The result showed that the highest of phosphate solubility in-dex was found in isolate BRC-AP (27), addition of the combination of isolate BRC-AP, BRC-AK and Humicola sp. R.Dn have significant effect on shoot growth in the first week and leaf dry weight. The high-est length shoot of cutting elephant grass was found in treatment with the consortium of phosphate solubilizing bacteria and IAA producing mold (BRC-AP + BRC-AK + KP) (58.66 cm). The highest of leaf dry weight was found in treatment with BRC-AP + BRC-AK + KP (5.65 gr). The addition of consortium phosphate solubilizing bacteria and IAA producing fungi from South Kalimantan critical land proved can improve plant growth especially length shoot and leaf dry weight.

Abstract

Its crucial to get information about lead (Pb) heavy metal pollution from mining and oil palm plantation on species density in mangrove ecosystem, to anticipate its impacts. This study aimed is to compare the types and densities of vegetation in mangrove ecosystems allegedly due to mining in Setarap village, Tanah Bumbu Regency and oil palm plantations in Kuala Tambangan Village, Tanah Laut Regency. We also analysis the condition of waters (TDS, pH and DO) and organic content in sediments to acquire data from the South Kalimantan mangrove ecosystems. The results showed there were four species of true mangroves (Avicennia alba, Acanthus ebracteatus, Nypa fruticans and Rhizophora apiculate) could live well in the environment affected by mining or oil palm plantations. The species density for trees was low (933 ind/ha) for mangroves affected by coal mines, while those affected by oil palm plantations had higher densities (1,067 ind/ha). pH value of waters in affected area by coal mining showed more acidic value (pH 5.76) especially at the back, while those by palm oil plantations are more acidic (pH 6) in the estuary. Organic matter content in sediments affected by coal mines was in the range of 0.61-6.59%, while those affected by oil palm plantations showed higher values (0.12-2.19%). Lead heavy metal content (Pb) in waters affected by coal mines was 0.031-0.056 mg/L, while the area affected by oil palm plantations was of higher value (0.110-0.128 mg/L). Lead (Pb) levels in sediments indicate higher values than waters, which reach 3.512-6.046 mg/Kg (affected by coal mines), and in areas affected by oil palm plantations reaching 6.658-6.66 mg/Kg. The general conclusion is that vegetation densities in areas affected by coal mines are lower than oil palm plantations. The level of lead  (Pb) pollution in the sediments is higher than in the waters.
