Abstract

The purpose of this study is to obtain the value of density, frequency, mangrove cover and the mangrove importance index (INP Mangrove) The method used for belt transects. The quadratic transect method measures 10 m x 10 m (tree category), 5 m x 5 m (sapling category) and 2 m x 2 m (seedling category). The results found that the mangrove community in Serewe Bay, Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara. Tree strata are dominated by Sonneratia alba species, pole strata are dominated by Sonneratia alba species and the seedling strata are dominated by Pemphis acidula. This shows that the existence of these three types can be found in almost every plot / plot. The Importance Value Index (INP) of mangroves obtained is classified as moderate, this shows that mangroves in Serewe Bay, Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara have an important role for the coastal environment.

Abstract

Coconut wood sawdust is one of the common wastes found in Indonesia and has great potential to be utilized as alternative biomass energy raw materials or cellulose-based biotechnology products. Biodelignification is the process to release cellulose, hemicellulose bond with ligninusing microbes such as fungi, bacteria or enzymes. Pleuratus sapidus one of white rot fungi species who have ability on lignin degradation by produces ligniselulolytic enzymes and proven to be effective and efficient to degrade lignin. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimum incubation time of Pleuratus sapidus between 15, 30, 45 days and the best inoculum concentration between 2.5 ml/ 10 g substrate, 5 ml/ 10 g substrate, 7.5 ml/ 10 g substrate in delignification of coconut wood sawdust. Chesson Data method is used to calculate the lignin, cellulose and hemicellulose in coconut wood sawdust and to detemine percentage of degradation, Data analyzed using SPSS Two Way Anova. Conclusion of the research, the best concentration of inoculum was 5 ml/ 10 gr substrate, with the ability to degrade lignin in coconut wood sawdust as 6.33 % with an optimum incubation time of 45 days.  Keyword : Biodelignfication, Coconut wood sawdust, Ligniselulose, Pleuratus sapidus, White rot fungi.

Abstract

Labu kuning (Cucurbita moschata) merupakan tumbuhan alternatif pengganti pangan yang memiliki kandungan gizi yang tinggi dan mudah tumbuh diberbagai habitat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya variasi tanaman labu kuning dan hubungan kekerabatan berdasarkan penanda morfologi dan pola pita isozim peroksidase di Provinsi Aceh. Penelitian dilakukan secara ekploratif di 6 Kabupaten Propinsi Aceh yang meliputi kabupaten Aceh Besar, Pidie, Pidie Jaya, Bireuen, Aceh Utara, dan Aceh Timur. Pengamatan morfologi meliputi batang, daun, bunga, buah dan biji. Analisis isozim menggunakan Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis (PAGE) dengan pewarnaan enzim peroksidase. Data morfologi dan pola pita isozim dianalisis dengan menggunakan software UPGMA NTSYS untuk memperoleh dendrogram hubungan kekerabatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya 9 varian labu kuning dengan bentuk buah yang bervariasi dimana bentuk bulat panjang memiliki penanda morfologi daun yang berbeda dibandingkan delapan varian lainnya. Hasil dendrogram penanda morfologi menunjukkan labu kuning berbentuk bulat panjang terpisah dari delapan varian lainnya. Analisis pola pita isozim peroksidase menunjukkan sembilan pita isozim dengan nilai Rf 0; 0,1; 0,2; 0,3; 0,4; 0,42; 0,5; 0,56; dan 0,58. Berdasarkan penanda morfologi dan pola pita isozim peroksidase pada koefisien kemiripan 0,67 dendrogram terbagi menjadi 3 kelompok. Kelompok 1 terdiri dari varian berbentuk bulat (I) dan bulat lonjong (IV). Kelompok 2 disusun oleh bentuk bulat ceper (II), pir (III), segiempat (VI), bulat melintang (V), silinder (IX), dan botol (VIII), sedangkan kelompok 3 ditempati oleh bentuk bulat panjang.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the morphological and anatomical description of lichen thalus growing in urban areas. Sampling using exploration method (Cruise Method) and lichen thalus sampling technique is done by Purposive Sampling. Lichen thalus sample preparation was done by Embedding method. The results of this study indicate that (1) The life of lichen in urban friends is influenced by several factors including temperature, humidity and air pollutants that correlate with the LoS index value in Surakarta City. (2) Two species were found, Parmelia sp and Dirinaria sp that have different morphology and anatomy, which is caused by the characteristics of lichen substrate and air quality in the area. (3) Dirinaria sp species found in all study sites proved that the species is tolerant to environmental stress and is a taxon that characterizes urban areas. (4) The level of LoS index value in Surakarta City is also one of the factors that cause changes in the anatomical structure of the lichen thalus, namely the upper cortex layer. Thus, the higher the LoS index value in a road section, the thicker the size of the cortex thickness of the lichen thalus growing on the substrate in Surakarta City.
