Abstract

This study aims to describe the manufacture and use of Cuisenaire rod learning media for understanding the concepts of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of integers for elementary school students. The research method used is literature study, which is a series of activities related to the methods of collecting library data, reading and recording, and processing research materials. This research uses a qualitative approach. Data sources and research results in library research in the form of a description. Data sources are bibliographic or come from various literature, including books, journals, newspapers, personal documents, etc. The research results are that the utilization of Cuisenaire rod media is more optimized on learning in elementary schools, especially in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of integers because Cuisenaire rod media can help understand and can concrete the concept of numbers. In addition, it can be used as reference material for research on learning addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of integers by utilizing different learning media.

Abstract

Artikel ini merupakan hasil penelitian terkait kemampuan self efficacy  matematis siswa SMP pada dua kelas.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui interaksi antara penerapan pembelajaran worksheet berbasis softwere Geogebra terhadap kemampuan self efficacy matematis siswa ditinjau kemampuan awal matematis (KAM) siswa.  Melalui metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain pre test-post test, penelitian ini melibatkan 72 siswa SMP. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan peningkatan  rata-rata kemampuan self efficacy matematis ditinjau dari kemampuan awal matematis (KAM). Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan adanya peranan kemampuan self efficacy matematis antara kelas konvensional dan kelas eksperimen dari kemampuan awal siswa. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa peranan pembelajaran matematika berbasis softwere Geogebra mampu meningkatkan self efficacy siswa dibandingkan pembelajaran tanpa menggunakan softwere Geogebra. AbstractThis article is the result of research related to the mathematical self efficacy of junior high school students in two classes. This study aims to determine the interaction between the application of Geogebra softwares-based worksheet learning on students 'mathematical self efficacy abilities in terms of students' initial mathematical abilities. Through the quasi-experimental method with the pre-post-test design, this study involved 72 middle school students. The results showed a difference in the average increase in mathematical self efficacy abilities in terms of initial mathematical abilities (KAM). The results of the study also showed the role of mathematical self efficacy abilities between conventional classes and experimental classes from students' initial abilities. This shows that the role of Geogebra software-based mathematics learning can improve students' self-efficacy compared to learning without using Geogebra software.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to improve student learning outcomes on the Pythagorean theorem material through the use of Problem Based Learning models. The type of research is Classroom Action Research which was conducted during the second cycle. This research was carried out in 5 steps: (1) student orientation to problems (2) organizing students for learning, (3) assisting individual and group investigations, (4) developing and presenting work, (5) analyzing and evaluating the problem solving process. The research subjects were 15 students of class VIII in one of the junior high schools in Cimahi. The data collection technique was carried out by giving pre-test and post-test questions about the Pythagorean theorem. The results showed: a) The percentage of complete student learning outcomes at the beginning of the meeting was 0.0% with an average value of 21.73, b. The percentage of completeness in the first cycle is 46.6% with an average value of 58.4, c) The percentage of completeness in the second cycle is 86.6% with an average value of 77.2. Based on the results of the research, can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model can improve student learning outcomes on the Pythagorean theorem material.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the critical thinking skills of junior high school students on Pythagoras material. Subjects in this study are students of class VIII-F in SMP Negeri 1 Ngamprah with the number of students 37 people. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive. This type is chosen because it aims to describe the skills of students in solving problems of mathematical critical thinking independently. The research phase is divided into three, namely planning, implementation, and reporting. The technique of collecting data in the form of test. Data analysis techniques based on indicators of mathematical critical thinking skills that has been determined by researchers include: (1) identifying the concepts used in problem solving, (2) formulating an action (strategy, tactics, or approach) in solving problems, (3) providing arguments or reasons for answering and solving problems, and (4) evaluating evidence or decisions taken in solving the problem. The results obtained quantitatively show that the level of mathematical critical thinking skills of students in SMP Negeri 1 Ngamprah in solving the problems on Pythagoras material still falls into the low category. The evidence from the percentage of each indicator with the highest rate of only 61%. Some factors influence the level of students critical thinking skills, including the preparation of incomplete and appropriate strategies, provide arguments without showing the truth, and the students' accuracy in working on the questions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to be able to explain the various types of errors when completing the quadrilateral and triangle tests. In this study using a qualitative descriptivemethod. This study was followed by the state junior high school students of 5 Cipongkor class VIII the number of which was 24 people. The test  instrument used is in the form of 6 questions in the form of a description. The data collected in this study are tests and documentation. Based on the analysis that has been carried out the results obtained are 1) misunderstood the language quadrilaterals and triangles 2) quadrilaterals and triangle concept error 3) errors in principle. Of all kinds of errors students make more mistakes when when working on questions namely errors in understanding the language of the questions.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the difficulties of students and find the cause of the difficulties faced by students in the Pythagorean theorem material in solving problems or questions about the material. Where the type of research used is descriptive research. The research of class IX from SMPN 2 Cipongkor for the academic year 2020-2021. Data collection techniques in this study were tests and documentation. The difficulties that are generally faced by students are difficulty in understanding the concept of the Pythagorean theorem, difficulty in understanding the problem and difficulty in answering a problem on the Pythagorean theorem. Good mastery of material concepts is able to bring students to produce good solutions as well. Understanding concepts and understanding in answering questions must be mastered by students to make it easier to work on the questions presented.

Abstract

ABSTRAKKemampuan pemahaman konsep matematik merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang diperlukan dalam memahami operasi bilangan. Alat peraga adalah salah satu media yang dapat menyajikan suatu konsep matematika. Dengan bantuan media alat peraga diharapkan siswa mampu menghitung operasi bilangan dengan cepat dan mudah serta paham cara menggunakannya. Media alat peraga diharapkan dapat membantu menanamkan pemahaman konsep siswa dalam belajar matematika khususnya siswa Sekolah Dasar, sehingga tidak memandang matematika itu sulit dan menakutkan. Pengabdian  ini ditempuh dalam empat tahap dengan kurun waktu  tujuh hari, sebagai berikut: tahap pertama, yaitu mengkoordinasi kegiatan penyuluhan  secara keseluruhan; kedua, menyusun  jadwal kegiatan, ketiga, menyusun tahap-tahap pembuatan alat peraga, menyusun alat evaluasi; keempat, melakukan pengabdian dilapangan, berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan sosialisasi dengan guru-guru SD.  Pengabdian ini dilakukan sebagai wujud kepedulian pengabdi dalam bidang pendidikan matematika. Media alat peraga yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini diantaranya batang tulang napier, yang digunakan untuk operasi perkalian bilangan cacah. Alat peraga mistar bilangan, digunakan untuk operasi penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat. Alat peraga batang tulang napier, dan mistar bilangan diharapkan dapat membantu pemahaman siswa dalam belajar matematika khususnya siswa Sekolah Dasar, sehingga tidak memandang matematika itu menakutkan dan membosankan.Kata Kunci: media alat peraga pembelajaran matematika, batang tulang naphier, siswa sekolah dasar ABSTRACTThe ability to understand mathematical concepts is one of the abilities needed to understand number operations. Teaching aids are one of the media that can present a mathematical concept. With the help of teaching aids, media students are expected to be able to calculate number operations quickly and easily and understand how to use them. Media teaching aids are expected to help instill an understanding of students' concepts in learning mathematics, especially elementary school students, so not looking at mathematics is difficult and frightening. This service was taken in four stages over a period of seven days, as follows: the first stage, which was to coordinate overall outreach activities; second, arrange activity schedules, third, arrange the stages of making teaching aids, arrange evaluation tools; fourth, serving in the field, participating in socialization activities with elementary school teachers. This dedication is done as a form of devotion in the field of mathematics education. Media aids used in this service include Napier bone rods, which are used for multiplication of numbers. The crossbar props, used for integer addition and subtraction operations. Napier bone trunk teaching aids and the ruler of numbers is expected to help students' understanding in learning mathematics especially elementary school students so that they do not view mathematics as scary and boring.Keywords: mathematics teaching aids media, Napier bone stem, elementary school students

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya HOTS siswa pada materi trigonometri pada siswa SMA di salah satu sekolah swasta di Cimahi, siswa merasa kesulitan dalam memahami materi trigonometri dikarenakan bahan ajar yang digunakan belum memfasilitasi proses berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa, sehingga diperlukan pengembangan bahan ajar yang berbasis inkuiri agar HOTS siswa semakin meningkat. Tujuan dari peneitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan LKS berbasis Inkuiri pada materi trigonometri. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode pengembangan dengan desain 4D yaitu pendefinisian (define), perancangan (design), pengembangan (develope), dan penyebaran (desiminate), namun karena keterbatasan waktu penelitian ini tidak sampai pada tahap penyebaran. Subjek dari penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas  X di salah satu SMA swasta di Kota Cimahi  sebanyak 32 siswa.  Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen tes HOTS untuk mengukur efektivitas bahan ajar serta lembar validasi untuk mengukur validitas bahan ajar. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar berupa LKS yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid dengan rata-rata nilai validitas dari validator ahli sebesar 3,4 serta efektivitas dari peningkatan kemampuan HOTS sebesar 35,3%. Adapun implikasi dari penelitian ini yaitu guru dapat menggunakan LKS berbasis inkuiri ini sebagai bahan ajar pada materi trigonometri agar kemampua HOTS siswa meningkat.

Abstract

This study analyzes students' errors in doing exercises on the material of Straight-Line Equations (PGL) based on the Newman procedure. This research was conducted at one of the schools in Cianjur area, with the research subject of 12 students. The method used in this analysis is the qualitative descriptive method because it will describe the form of student errors. The data collection technique uses 5 test items. The questions were made according to the predetermined indicators of achievement of basic competencies. Furthermore, based on students' answers, the researcher analyzed the extent to the students' errors in solving PGL questions. The results showed that: (1) 50% had errors in reading problems, namely students were less careful; (2) 16.7% experienced errors in understanding the problem, namely not being able to understand (3) 66.7% experienced problem transformation errors, namely difficulties in making graphs from the instructions presented, and students did not correctly convert the information obtained into PGL graphs; (4) 50% experienced errors in process skills, namely students were not able to solve the problems and be careless in the calculation process; (5) 83.3% experienced writing errors/answer notation, namely incorrectly in writing negative signs, symbols, equals signs, not writing variables and conclusions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the improvement of learning outcomes on the material of a two-linear equation system using the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach in class X SMK X Multimedia 3 Group B SMK TI Garuda Nusantara Cimahi. The research method used is a two-cycle class action research method. The subjects in this study were 13 students of class X SMK X Multimedia 3 Group B SMK TI Garuda Nusantara Cimahi. The instruments used are in the form of observation, documentation and test questions. The stages in this research are conducting a pre-cycle (before the action), doing work on the LKS, and finally doing a final test (after giving the action). The data processing technique used is using excel The results of this study indicate that the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach can improve student learning outcomes at SMK TI Garuda Nusantara Cimahi class X Multimedia 3 Group B Multimedia.
