Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of treatment on student learning outcomes in the algebraic structure course at the Department of Mathematics Education of the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar in virtual learning through the online learning system (SPADA). This study is a quasi-experimental design with a post-test-only control group whose results were analyzed using descriptive analysis and inferential analysis (mann whitney test). The population is the class of 2019 who is programming an algebraic structure course consisting of 3 classes, then a sample consisting of 2 classes was selected, namely, one experimental class taught through SPADA, and one control class taught in addition to using SPADA, namely, zoom meeting, google meet, email, and whatsApp groups. The instrument used is a test of student learning outcomes. The results obtained are that the average learning outcomes of students who are taught through SPADA are higher than the average learning outcomes of students who are taught other than through SPADA, but the results of the Mann Whitney test show that there is no significant difference from the learning outcomes of students who have been taught through SPADA or other than SPADA. Researchers suggest that providing virtual learning not only relies on one learning media but also on the synergy between one media and another, which will further optimize virtual learning.

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research which aims to improve mathematics learning outcomes through the application of the Think-Pair-Share type of cooperative learning model. The research subjects were 25 tenth grade students who consisted of 9 male students and 16 female students. The instruments used were observation sheets, response questionnaires, and learning outcomes tests. Data collection techniques in this study were information on student activities, implementation of actions, and students’ learning outcomes. Data on the observations of student activities and response questionnaires will be analyzed qualitatively, whereas data on students’ learning outcomes will be analyzed quantitatively using descriptive statistics. The results of this study showed that the application of the cooperative learning model with Think-Pair-Share model can improve students’ mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa kelas VIII MTs Muhammadiyah Likuboddong pada tahun ajaran 2020/2021 dalam menyelesaikan soal bangun datar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif yang dirancang untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal bangun datar. Data yang dianalisis adalah data kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah pemberian tes essay dan wawancara. Soal yang digunakan dalam mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang berjumlah 3 soal adalah soal yang memuat indicator dari kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa. Soal-soal ini dikerjakan oleh 15 orang siswa dalam 35 menit dan wawancara bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa dalam berfikir kritis matematis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa kelas VIII.B Mts. Muhammadiyah Likuboddong memenuhi indikator dari berpikir kritis matematis.

Abstract

Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pra-eksperimen yang melibatkan satu kelas sebagai kelas eksperimen yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas metode Index Card Match pada pembelajaran matematika siswa kelas VII SMP Nasional Makassar tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah The One Group Pretest Posttest. Sampel eksperimennya adalah siswa kelas VII.F SMP Nasional Makassar. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes hasil belajar, lembar observasi aktivitas siswa dan angket respons siswa, serta lembar keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian secara inferensial menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Hasil belajar matematika siswa lebih dari atau sama dengan nilai KKM 75 (2), Ketuntasan klasikal lebih dari atau sama dengan 75% (3) Gain atau peningkatan hasil belajar minimal dalam kategori sedang. Hasil deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa (1) rata-rata nilai keterlaksanaan pembelajaran mencapai 3,32 termasuk kategori terlaksana dengan sangat baik (2) skor rata-rata posttest 83,25 lebih besar dari pada skor rata-rata pretest 58,46 dengan standar deviasi masing-masing pretest 12,99 dan posttest 8,49. Dari hasil tersebut juga diperoleh bahwa pada pretest tidak satupun atau 0% siswa yang mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimal. Pada posttest ada 22 siswa atau 91,67% telah mencapai ketuntasan individual dan terdapat 2 atau 8,33% siswa tidak mencapai ketuntasan individual. Dalam hal ini berarti ketuntasan klasikal telah tercapai. Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar dimana nilai rata-rata gain ternormalisasi yaitu 0,64 dan umumnya berada pada kategori sedang. (3) Rata-rata persentase frekuensi aktivitas siswa yaitu 82,92% maka aktivitas siswa mencapai kriteria aktif dan (4) respons siswa menunjukkan positif dimana rata-rata persentasenya adalah 90,53%. Dengan demikian metode Index Card Match efektif diterapkan dalam pembelajaran matematika pada siswa kelas VII SMP Nasional Makassar.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the errors of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 33 Makassar in solving the two-variable linear equation system problem based on the Newman stage. This type of research was a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The data collection in this research was conducted by using the assignment and interview methods. The research subjects were taken by 4 people from students of class VIII-F, each consisting of 2 students who had the most errors and 2 students who had the least errors. Each research subject was interviewed based on the results of his work on two-variable system of linear equations. Testing the validity of the data by using the time triangulation technique. From the research results, it could be concluded that in the first and second assignments, all subjects had no errors at the reading and comprehension error stages of the questions. There was one subject who got a transformation error, namely the GAG ​​(male) subject and the other subject did not get an error in the part of changing the problem into the correct mathematical model. As many as two subjects got errors in process skills, namely HKR (female) subjects and GAG (male) subjects and other subjects did not get errors in this section. There were two subjects who got errors in the error because the subject was wrong in the process skills, so the subject got an error at the encoding error stage.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mathematical critical thinking skills of eighth grade students of MTs Muhammadiyah Likuboddong in the 2020/2021 academic year in solving flat shape problems. This research is a research that uses a descriptive qualitative approach which is designed to determine the students' mathematical critical thinking skills in solving problems of flat shapes. The data analyzed is the data of students' mathematical critical thinking skills. The data collection method used is the provision of essay tests and interviews. The questions used in measuring students' mathematical critical thinking skills, totaling 3 questions, are questions that contain indicators of students' mathematical critical thinking abilities. These questions were done by 15 students in 35 minutes and the interviews aimed to determine the students' ability to think critically mathematically. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the students' mathematical critical thinking skills in class VIII.B Mts fulfills the indicators of mathematical critical thinking

Abstract

This workshop on using the Microsoft teams application aims to help teachers at school Unismuh Junior High School in Makassar and Unismuh Senior High School in Makassar can further optimize learning virtual during the pandemic and after the pandemic, so that not only the professional competence of teachers in the IT field can increase but can also motivate students to be more motivated to improve their learning achievements, in addition to the features of Microsoft teams, project-based learning during this period pandemic and after the pandemic can be done more interactively. The method used in this implementation is training as well as mentoring, where the steps taken are (1) providing material about Microsoft development and introduction to Microsoft teams features using lecture and quiz methods, (2) training on the use of Microsoft teams in providing learning materials and assignments to students, and (3) mentoring and discussions with resource persons about the use of Microsoft Teams in the subjects taught by each teacher.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan kepada peserta tentang cara berhitung cepat dengan menggunakan jarimatika sehingga mereka lebih mudah melakukan proses operasi hitung terutama pada materi penjumlahan, pengurangan dan perkalian. Kegiatan ini disamping memperkenalkan jarimatika juga mengajarkan kepada siswa tentang penggunaan jarimatika terkhusus pada operasi penjumlahan, perkalian dan pengurangan. Metode yang digunakan yaitu: (1) Metode observasi untuk mengumpulkan data tentang kemampuan operasi aljabar peserta didik, (2)Metode ceramah ,tanya jawab dan demonstrasi dilakukan pada saat menyajikan materi,(3) Metode pemberian angket untuk mengetahui respon peserta selama kegiatan pelatihan. Peserta kegiatan sebanyak 10orang yang merupakan peserta didik kelas VII, jumlah yang sangat terbatas karena diakibatkan oleh Pandemi Covid-19, siswa tatap muka dengan metode roling. Peserta pelatihan antusias selama kegiatan berlangsung. Hasil pengabdian ini adalah: (1) peserta didik memahami formasi jari tangan dan aturan penjumlahan, pengurangan dan perkalian dengan menggunakan jarimatika; (2) peserta didik merasa lebih mudah dan lebih cepat dalam menghitung operasi hitung aljabar dengan menggunakan jarimatika; (3) peserta didik memberikan respon positif terhadap kegiatan pelatihan ini. Pelatihan ini mempermudah peserta didik melakukan operasi hitung aljabar dengan menggunakan jari tangan tanpa harus menggunakan metode konvensional.
