Abstract

Decanter merupakan mesin industri pada unit pengolahan minyak yang berfungsi untuk memisahkan sludge dari crude oil tank menjadi light phase, heavy phase dan solid  dalam crude oil sehingga proses pemisahan selanjutnya di dalam clarier settling tank akan lebih sempurna. Shaft merupakan salah satu bagian dari decanter yang berhenti beroperasi setelah pengoperasian satu tahun. Selanjutnya setelah dilakukan investigasi di tempat kejadian menunjukkan bahwa screw dari shaft mengalami patah sehingga menyebabkan decanter berhenti beroperasi. Hasil pemeriksaan visual menunjukkan bahwa screw mengalami perpatahan/rusak di daerah radius. Sedangkan pemeriksaan fraktografi menunjukkan bahwa foto makro permukaan patahan screw berupa patah ulet yang berawal dari satu sisi dan merambat hingga mencapai penjalaran retak sebesar 70%, namun patah sisa/patah akhir  yang terletak berseberangan dengan patah awal. Hasil pemeriksaan tersebut juga dikonfirmasi dengan pemeriksaan metalografi yang menunjukkan adanya inklusi pengotor di lokasi perpatahan screw. Oleh karena itu, cacat inklusi akibat proses manufaktur berperan sebagai inisiasi perambatan retak, lalu menjalar akibat pembebanan dinamis dari pergerakan shaft sampai akhirnya baut mengalami perpatahan. Analisis kimia dari material screw menunjukkan bahwa material screw yang diperiksa merupakan jenis low alloy steel yang sesuai dengan spesifikasi standard.

Abstract

DeNickelification is common phenomenon which occurs for alloy metal containing sufficient amounts of Nickel when it is exposed at high temperature in long time periode. One of component which is made of alloy metal containing Nickel is heat exchangers tube.  Heat exchanger is a part of processing unit that use for transfering heat from hot fluid to colder fluid through the combined mechanisms of conduction and convection.  When the heat exchanger leaks, all of the processing system could be affected.  In this research a leakage heat exchanger tube is investigated by failure analysis methods to find the root cause of failure.  Several tests and examinations such as fractography, metallography examinations, SEM and EDS, hardnes as well as chemical compositions test are carried out to this tube to obtain detailed information for further analysis.Result of this reseach shows that some Cu residue, Ni, aggressive/corrosive ion such as Cl- and S2- at the leak area of heat exchanger tube is found.  These evidences indicated that denickelification was occurred on inner surface of heat exchanger tube caused by potential difference between Ni2+ion and Cu2+ ion to form a galvanic cell.  Furthermore, since the tube is flown by fluid material which contains aggressive / corrosive ions such as Cl- ion and S2- then pitting corrosion on inner surface of tube is formed. This mechanism had been taken place continuously during operation of heat exchanger and pitting corrosion keep growing until the tube leaks.

Abstract

Paduan Cu-Zn 70/30 secara luas digunakan dalam banyak produk industri karena sifatnya yang unggul dan belum ada penggantinya. Beberapa karakteristik unggul yang dimiliki oleh paduan Cu-Zn 70/30 antara lain bersifat lunak, ulet, kuat, mudah dibentuk, dan sifat mekanisnya dapat dengan mudah ditingkatkan baik dengan pengerjaan dingin maupun solid solution alloying. Oleh karena itu, untuk memperoleh material paduan Cu-Zn 70/30 maka dilakukan riset baik berupa material baru maupun modifikasi dari jenis material yang sudah ada agar sesuai dengan kebutuhan industri. Untuk meminimalisir biaya produksi namun tetap menghasilkan sifat mekanis yang baik tanpa penambahan paduan maka dikembangkan metode penghalusan butir yang mengacu pada hukum Hall-Petch. Dengan metode penghalusan butir didapatkan sifat mekanis material yang tinggi terutama kekuatan luluh dan kekerasan. Salah satu alternatif proses fabrikasi untuk mengoptimalkan sifat mekanik paduan Cu-Zn 70/30 yaitu salah satunya dengan metode thermomechanical controlled process (TMCP). TMCP merupakan suatu proses perubahan bentuk suatu material dengan cara memberikan regangan plastis yang besar dan terkontrol terhadap material. TMCP dengan menggunakan variasi persentase deformasi sebanyak 32.25%, 35.48%, dan 38.7% dari penelitian canai hangat di suhu 500oC secara double pass reversible dilakukan pada pelat paduan Cu-Zn 70/30. Untuk paduan Cu-Zn 70/30 range pengerjaan canai hangat berada pada 0.4 s/d 0.6 Tm yaitu berkisar antara suhu 382oC-573oC. Dengan pengamatan metalografi maka didapat ukuran butir yang semakin menurun sebesar 29.53 μm di bagian tepi dan 33.47 μm di bagian tengah pada derajat deformasi 38.7%. Sedangkan dengan melakukan pengujian tarik menggunakan mesin uji tarik universal testing machine dapat dilihat bahwa pada material paduan Cu-Zn 70/30 dengan derajat deformasi 38.7% menghasilkan nilai ultimate tensile strength (UTS) sebesar 533 MPa, yield strength (YS) sebesar 435 MPa, dan persentase elongasi yang rendah sebesar 10%. Untuk hasil pengujian kekerasan menggunakan vickers hardness tester menghasilkan kekerasan sebesar 155 HV untuk bagian tepi dan 146 HV untuk bagian tengah pada derajat deformasi 38.7%. AbstractCu-Zn 70/30 alloys are widely used in many industrial products because of its superior characteristic andthere is no substitute. To obtain Cu-Zn alloy material whose higher mechanical properties then it is doneresearch in the form of new material or modification material from existing types of materials to appropriatewith industry necessary. To minimize production cost, but it still produce good mechanical properties withoutthe addition of alloy then it is developed grain refinement method which refers to Hall-Petch law. One offabrication process alternative to optimize the mechanical properties of Cu-Zn 70/30 alloy namely thermomechanical controlled processed (TMCP) method. TMCP is conducted to Cu-Zn 70/30 alloy in variousdeformation percentage at a level of 32.25% 35.48%, and 38.7% at 500oC by double pass reversible method.For Cu-Zn 70/30 alloy the range suhu of TMCP is between 0.4-0.6 melting temperature or between 382°C-573°C. By metallographic examination is obtained decreasing of grain size of 29.53 μm at the edges and of33.47 μm in the central part sample on 38.7% deformation degree. Meanwhile, by tensile testing can be seenthat Cu-Zn 70/30 alloy material with 38.7% deformation degree produces ultimate tensile strength (UTS)value of 533 MPa, yield strength (YS) value of 435 MPa, and elongation percentage value of 10%. Thehardness value obtained approximately around 155 HV to 146 HV in the edges to the middle part of materialon 38.7% deformation degree.

Abstract

Growth from adolescence to adulthood is a transition that causes many hormonal changes, both physical, psychological and social. This change will cause health problems, one of which is on the face, namely Acne vulgaris (AV). Retinoic acid is one of the chemicals that is prohibited for use because it can cause dry skin, burning, teratogenicity (fetal defects)0and skin cancer. The aim of this research was to find out whether the acne cream in the cosmetic shop x Pasar Jodoh contained retinoic acid, and to determine the levels of retinoic acid in the samples. There were 10 acne cream samples studied. The qualitative test of retinoic acid uses the thin layer chromatography (TLC) method observed under UV 254 light. And the quantitative test uses the UV-Vis Spectrophotometry method. Spectrophotometric determination of retinoic acid levels at a wavelength of 340 nm. The results0obtained by the thin layer chromatography (TLC) method were that sample B was positive for retinoic acid and the results from the UV-Vis spectrophotometry0method were 0.0005%.

Abstract

Jotang (Sphagneticola trilobata) is a wild plant that has antibacterial potential. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of the n-hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol fractions of jotang leaf extract against Escherichia coli bacteria. Jotang leaves were extracted using methanol by maceration extraction method, followed by the fractionation stage using Liquid-Liquid Extraction method. The fractionation process uses n-hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol as solvents. Next step, each fraction was tested for antibacterial activity using the disc diffusion method. The concentrations of each fraction used were 200 µg/disc, 400 µg/disc, and 1000 µg/disc, positive control used chloramphenicol and negative control used DMSO 10%. The Result showed the most potential antibacterial activity of the active fraction from jotang leaves extract was the n-hexane fraction.

Abstract

Poor oral health is often caused by inadequate oral hygiene, leading to conditions such as bad breath and periodontal disease. Bingkat Village, located in Pegajahan Subdistrict, Serdang Bedagai Regency, is predominantly inhabited by farmers, with many housewives lacking productive activities to support their families’ income. This community service program aimed to provide training for PKK (Family Welfare Movement) women on producing mouthwash using natural ingredients, particularly torch ginger extract, which is known to contain antibacterial compounds. The implementation methods included educational sessions, hands-on training, and assistance with product formulation, packaging, and marketing. The results indicated an improvement in participants’ understanding and skills in producing herbal mouthwash, as well as the emergence of economic opportunities through the development of local products.

Abstract

Diera sekarang ini banyak dari kita yang tidak mengenal lebih dalam tentang ajaran agama islam yang di dalamnya telah di susun dengan sempurna terkait perekonomian negara. Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah untuk mengetahui lebih dalam mengenai ‘Usyur yang sekarang diterapkan di Indonesia dengan nama Bea Cukai. ‘Usyur adalah jenis pajak yang diambil berupa harta dari hasil perdagangan ahludzzimmah dan penduduk darul harbi yang telah melewati daerah kaum muslimin dan harta tersebut sesuai kadar yang telah ditentukan. Bea cukai sendiri merupakan istilah dari pemungutan atas kegiatan ekspor dan impor yang dilakukan oleh suatu badan atau orang pribadi, selain itu dalam bea cukai terdapat sistem yang digunakan khususnya di Indonesia yang bertujuan mempermudah segala kegiatan. Bea cukai di Indonesia telah digunakan sejak dulu oleh kerjaan-kerajaan di kepulauan Indonesia. Antara ‘Usyur dan Bea Cukai memiliki persamaan dan tentu memiliki perbedaan memingat negara Indonesia memiliki sistem perekonomian yang tidak mengarah pada syariat islam.
