Abstract

Penyambungan dengan menggunakan kampuh bilah ganda dan baut atau rivet umumnya digunakan pada plat utama yang mempunyai beban yang besar. Kerusakan yang terjadi pada kampuh bilah ganda terjadi pada plat sambungan atau rivet karena adanya gaya eksternal berupa tarikan. Tegangan yang terjadi akan mermbat pada lubang plat atau rivet yang memiliki perubahan geometri. Telah dilakukan sebuah penelitian untuk mengetahui sifat mekanik material pelat yang dikenai gaya tarik sebesar 25 KN dengan arah horisontal, Material uji yang akan disimulasikan adalah material structural st 37 dengan kekuatan tarik luluh 362 MPa untuk material plat atau kampuh penyambung. Materil rivet menggunakan st 30 dengan kekutan tarik sebesar 290 MPa dan untuk materil plat utama menggunakan AISI 1045 C dengan kekuatan tarik sebesar 450 Mpa. Simulasi ini menggunakan Software Ansys. Untuk ukuran Diameter rivet yang digunakan dalam simulasi ini adalah ada 3 jenis yaitu Dr = 12 mm, 14 mm dan 16 mm sedangkan untuk tebal kampuh tp = 6 mm, 8 mm dan 10 mm. Tegangan maksimum yang terjadi pada kampuh atau rivet lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan tegangan yang terjadi pada plat utama. Sehingga kemungkinan terjadi kegagalan lebih besar pada plat utama. Untuk rivet yang dengan ukuran diameter 12 mm dan ketebalan kampuh 6 mm tegangan maksimum yang terjai masih dibawah tegangan plat utama.

Abstract

Salah satu cara merubah sifat mekanik suatu logam dengan cara proses perlakuan panas. hardness lunak, dan retak (crack) pada produk cor adalah salah satu masalah yang dapat timbul akibat proses perlakuan panas (heat treatment) pada aluminium paduan. Perlu tidaknya perlakuan panas dan bagaimana perlakuan panas yang dilakukan tergantung pada sifat coran dan penggunaanya. Untuk itu perlu diketahui secara mendalam sifat-sifat coran tersebut. Selain perlakuan panas yang dilakukan sifat mekanis logam juga akan dipengaruhi oleh proses pendinginan yang dilakukan. Pada penelitian ini, fokus masalah yang ingin dipelajari adalah perlakuan panas khususnya pada proses Artificial Aging pada aluminium paduan tipe AC2C Pengujian dilakukan pada aluminium paduan type AC2C Analisa kekuatan bahan dengan pengujian yang meliputi Uji keras (HB), Struktur mikro. Temperatur solution treatment pada suhu 5050C, Temperatur artificial aging pada suhu 1500C dan 2000C, Waktu penahanan (holding time) 1 jam, 3 jam, dan 5 jam.

Abstract

Braking is a system mechanism designed to reduce the speed of a vehicle, this system is very important in vehicles as a means of safety and ensures that the driver is safe. The work of the brakes is affected by the type of brake used and the load of the vehicle. In the disc braking system, brake pads are one of the components that function to inhibit or reduce the speed of the vehicle. To get maximum braking, brake pads with good braking ability are needed, the quality of the brake pads is determined by the hardness and material of the brake linings. Where the goal is to be able to find out about the front brakes on the Jupiter MX 135 CC motorcycle. and also be able to analyze the disc brakes, and be able to find out the condition, function and working principle of all components on the disc brakes on the front wheels of the Jupiter MX 135 CC motorcycle in this study using quantitative methods, namely by direct measurements of the Jupiter mx 135 CC motorcycle.

Abstract

Elevator or elevator is a vertical means of transportation in a multi-storey building, which serves to facilitate human activities in carrying out their routines. This research is a quantitative research with direct observation to the field of documentation, as well as. The result of this research is the hatch door production process at PT. Mitsubishi Jaya Elevator And Escalator which has a production process flow including the preparation process, shearing, turret punching, v - cut, bending, welding, painting, oven processes, quality control, and packing, while the results of the calculation of machine efficiency time at daily output are 33, 3% while the overall is 55.6%.

Abstract

Fish drying machine with a capacity of 50 kg of wet fish is one of the energy machines that serves to reduce the water content in fish by passing hot air of 40-50oC above its surface. This fish drying machine has a heat exchanger as its main heart. The source of heat energy used is the combustion of husks and air. Then with the heat exchanger the gas is flowed through the tube in the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger used is a cross flow type heat exchanger in which the air fluid mixes and the husk combustion gases do not mix. On the outside of the tube, drying air flows which will be heated and used as a drying medium for wet fish. The large heat flow rate carried by the drying air can reduce the water content in the grain by 31.2 kg of water from 50 kg of fresh fish in 8 hours. The heat exchanger construction planning is made in such a way using the LMTD approach and the effectiveness and CFD simulation integrated in Anys15.0, so that the performance of the tool can be known. The final result of modeling provides flow and temperature distribution that occurs in the heat exchanger. The capital uses 3D steady flow by selecting standard K-e as turbulence modeling and activating the energy equation. The input data entered into the application is the result of previous measurements and calculations.

Abstract

From observations on the company's production process in making Hing door through several processes including the stamping process to packing. Those in the production process experience damage to the machine or an error. This study aims to suppress the problem of defects in standard machine conditions, especially on press machines before production. It is proven that after the approach with PDCA, namely the making of SOPs for replacing materials on each machine and adding an identity to the material, it has reduced the proportion of rejections on stamping machines by 74%.

Abstract

This study dicusses the analysis of the banding process in the manufacture of joint brake rod products based on data in a field. Analysis of the bending process that is carried out is to maximize in reducing the percentage of scrap formed in the blank process. The purpose of the analysis in this comparison process is to understand how the bucket elevator works and find out the number of buckets (bowls) in the bucket elevator needed to transport the product. The research method carried out is through direct observation of the literature studies that have been obtained in the form of books or journals and the internet as references. This calculation is carried out to be used as a benchmark as a comparison material from the calculation results with information data on the number of joint brake rods in the field. This comparison material is based on several basic theories and conclusions obtained from the result of calculations. Therefore, the process that occurs in the press machine, especially in the bending process, there are several this that need to be taken into account to produce a good and optimal product. Some of these include bending styles. From this research, it can be concluded that the amount of force for bending process is 8,640 N. The amount of force required for the pad to hold the material during the bending process is 1,160 N. The total force required for the bending process is 10.8T.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to protect copyright and the government's Venturi meter is a tool for measuring the mass flow rate or volume flow in a closed channel. The geometry and dimensions of the Venturi meter consist of various shapes, especially on the neck which is used as a barrier. The shape of the Venturi meter that is widely used varies, but basically has the same way of working, namely by measuring the pressure difference at two specified points. Dimensional changes between the slope and the neck of the venture can cause differences in pressure values. The two points set are the highest points for the pressure difference that occurs on the measuring instrument. Calculations only involve the equations of Energy, pressure and flow continuity. From the analysis of the change in the average pressure accurately occurred at a tap distance of L = 125 mm and an average pressure at 674.6 Pa for flow rates of 0.2 and 0.5 kg/s with fillet sizes between 45 – 50 mm.

Abstract

Motorcycle is a means of transportation that can not be separated in modern human life. Simple but has many benefits and is very useful as a means of transportation, also having an affordable price is the reason why many people use motorbikes. Motorcycles themselves, especially automatic motorbikes also have problems that must be solved. This problem arises because the engine of the automatic motor itself is inside the motor body so that the heat transfer is hampered by the motor body itself. This deficiency is what encourages researchers to fix the problem. This repair is done by making a hole in the front of the deck for the air to flow as a cooler. The results showed that after repairs were made, it showed a significant difference in heat transfer, so that the engine became cooler and optimal.

Abstract

In this study, the sandwich structure is known as a core attached to two rigid and strong shells; The core distributes the load from one shell to another. While the skin contributes to bending and turgidity, adhesives that carry shear and axial loads to the core material are used as bonding agents. As a binder in this composite used polyester resin. The honeycomb sandwich panels made are 50mm high and 50mm wide, while the panel lengths are made in three variations, namely with honeycomb lengths of 50mm, 75mm and 100mm. This honeycomb sandwich panel was tested by bending test to obtain flexural strength and stiffness values. Of the three panels that were made identically for each honeycomb core height, the highest flexural strength and stiffness figures were obtained in the panel with a honeycomb core height of 50mm, namely with a flexural strength number of 5.08kg/mm2 and a stiffness value of 12.74kg/mm.
