Abstract

The problem of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has not stopped. It was necessary to implement the Covid-19 protocol to avoid spreading, one of which is to wash hand regularly using and circulating water. Based on these reasons, it was still necessary to develop automatic hand washing equipment which is currently a primary need in public places, offices, and educational facilities. This study aims to modify the automatic sink using the Arduino Uno R3 microcontroller as a data processor and Ultrasonic HC-SR04 as a sensor; testing the function of the tool, namely automatic soap and water faucet, hand dryer, piezoelectric buzzer as an air level alarm, by utilizing the results of AC condensation as an water source. The results of this automatic sink modification can meet Covid-19 standards and can be used by all groups, especially schools and offices that have started to be active, so that with this tool it can reduce the spread of Covid-19. In addition, it is that the source of water from the condensation can be used as an alternative to water to save the current increasing use of PDAM water.

Abstract

The increasing economic growth of the Indonesian people has implications for the number of vehicle ownership, especially cars. However, this increase is not matched by public understanding of the need for maintenance of the engine cooling system. One way that can be done is to use radiator coolant to maintain the cooling system so that engine performance remains in optimal condition. The purpose of this study was to determine and compare the working temperature of the engine when using several types of radiator coolant. This research uses an experimental approach research method. The test was carried out at 750 RPM, 1500 RPM, 3000 RPM and using a coolant containing a mixture of water with ethylene glycol 0%, 30%, 50% and 80%. In the calculation, it is found that the working temperature of the Toyota Avanza 1.5 M/T car engine is very good using a mixture of water and ethylene glycol 50%, namely with an average engine working temperature of 94.8℃, then a mixture of water and ethylene glycol 30%, namely with an average temperature engine working 96.3℃, a mixture of water and ethylene glycol 80%, with an average working temperature of 98.6℃ engine and a mixture of water and ethylene glycol 0%, with an average working temperature of 101.5℃

Abstract

Carpet washer is a machine that is used to help complete work in the laundry industry. By using this carpet cleaning machine, cleaning carpets is fast and easy. The purpose of designing this carpet washing machine is a form of innovation and creativity based on technological developments. This machine is made with an additional tube of liquid detergent to make work easier and increase efficiency. The initial method of designing this carpet washing machine is to collect data. Next is the calculation and design. The results of the design of this carpet washing machine obtained a motor power of 1.5 HP and a rotation of 1400 rpm, with a height of 1020 mm, a length of 745 mm and a width of 345 mm using a type-A belt transmission, pulleys with a diameter of 2” and 6”, a shaft diameter of 19 mm, the type of bearing used is UCF F212 type, has a cleaning brush and uses a liquid detergent tube. The design of this carpet washing machine has been made based on the correct design and calculation and can be continued for production.

Abstract

Palm is a type of palm whose potential for high economic value and can thrive in Indonesia. Nagari Andaleh Baruh Bukik is an area in Tanah Datar District that is a center of palm crop production and has the potential to be developed by its economy. Seeing a promising market, the idea was born to process ant sugar into brown sugar cubes by making a brown sugar cube printer. The manufacture of brown sugar cubes using the manual press method with a pressing system utilizes the principle of the 2nd type of leverage, where the load point is between the power point and the fulcrum. This pressing system works if the lever is pulled by the operator according to the specified depth limit, to restore the position of the lever to its original position is to take advantage of the spring force. It takes about 392 N to press the mold. By doing the calculation so that a mechanical profit is obtained 3 times, the total force required to press is 130.6 N. The safety factor equation is 69.76 N/mm2 ≤ 200 MPa with the largest curved moment being 130.87 N/mm2, so this tool is safe and will not be bent. Abstract

This research aims to determine the market potential and business opportunities for wall decorations made of metal with CNC laser in the industry by determining the market size, evaluating competition, determining product trends, and identifying business opportunities. The quality management method of Deming's Wheel or PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) is used to analyze the market potential and competition of metal wall decoration products in various marketplaces. The research results show that Shopee is the e-commerce platform that sells the most metal wall decorations in Indonesia. The sales of metal wall decorations on Shopee reached 17,830 units, followed by Lazada with 2,794 units and Tokopedia with 789 units. The most popular motif or design among consumers is the leaf motif, with a total sales of 14,600 units on Shopee. The average monthly sales on Shopee are quite high, where store A is able to sell 160 units of wall decoration. The factors that influence high sales are quick chat replies, high ratings, positive testimonials from customers, and having their own online store website. Having their own online store provides advantages for store owners, such as advertising.

Abstract

To maximize the function of the mosque as a place of worship, a community service team has carried out together in the form of counseling and donations. This is done because mosques have a very strategic function in Islamic society, both as places of worship and as media centers for holistic development of the people. This service team is trying to optimize the function of the mosque as a center for community empowerment activities. This community service is motivated by the facilities and infrastructure of the Nurul Hikmah mosque which are still inadequate for the needs and comfort of worship, such as: carpets, loudspeakers, mosque clocks, towers and pulpits. Even the implementation of mosque management has not been so evenly distributed so that it has not been accompanied by social welfare efforts for the community. The purpose of this service is to find out the condition of the social welfare of the community. Community Service is the third dharma of higher education tri dharma. Meanwhile, in analyzing the data, the writer uses data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results of this service showed that the condition of community welfare is experiencing stability with the implementation of programs carried out by mosque administrators to help community welfare, then the implementation of mosque management in an effort to improve community social welfare is by having a clear and transparent management function which makes the function of the mosque better.

Abstract

The main objective of this research is to design a web-based machine learning model that can predict the mechanical properties of aluminum based on its chemical composition. By inputting nine variables of chemical elements such as Al, Mg, Zn, Ti, Cu, Mn, Cr, Fe, and Si, the model is able to provide predictions for two output data, Yield Strength (YS) and Tensile Strength (TS). The research aims to understand the relationship between chemical composition and mechanical properties of aluminum, and to develop a tool that can be used to predict these properties with a high level of accuracy. Overall, the goal of this study is to enhance the understanding of the properties of aluminum and how it can be utilized in various applications. This study designs a web-based machine learning modeling to predict the mechanical properties of aluminum in the percentage of chemical composition, where the input data in the modeling consists of 9 variables of chemical elements such as Al, Mg, Zn, Ti, Cu, Mn, Cr, Fe, Si, and has 2 output data consisting of Yield Strength (YS) and Tensile Strength (TS). The modeling machine learning is designed using the Python programming language and additional libraries such as Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn, and Streamlit. The modeling in this study uses three algorithms consisting of Decision Trees (DT), Random Forest (RF), and Artificial Neural Network (ANN). Each algorithm is optimized with the best search parameters, and where the RF algorithm has better performance than DT and JST. The best modeling uses the RF algorithm with optimal parameters of number of trees at 20 and maximum depth of 10, with MAE values of 11.44, RMSE of 14.282, and R of 0.93 for Yield Strength (YS) predictions, and for Tensile Strength (TS) predictions, MAE values are obtained. 21,669, RMSE 27,301, and R 0.871.

Abstract

The problem of flooding or inundation can arise from several factors, one of which is the incapacity of the existing drainage system to accommodate the increased volume of water flowing into it. For example, the drainage system on Jhoni Anwar Street in Padang City has become a frequent cause of flooding. This street should ideally be flood-free, especially as it serves as a major connecting road in Padang City. Therefore, the author intends to conduct research on the drainage system's capacity on this street. The data analysis required for this study includes hydrological analysis, including rainfall data, average rainfall, and flood discharge. Additionally, hydraulic analysis is also necessary, such as analyzing the existing channels, backwater analysis, planning the dimensions of the drainage system, and determining the flood points for each channel. It is known that the drainage system on Jhoni Anwar Street can only accommodate a water discharge of 0.24 m3/second, while the peak discharge during a 5-year flood period reaches 3.11 m3/second. Therefore, new dimensions for the drainage system are needed. The planned dimensions include a wet cross-sectional height of 140 cm or 1.40 m, a total cross-sectional height (h) of 160 cm or 1.60 m, and a channel width (b) of 1.42 cm or 1.42 m. With these dimensions, the channel will be able to accommodate a water discharge of 3.36 m3/second, in accordance with the criteria for peak flood discharge

Abstract

The design of a tool for printing supercapacitor electrodes has been completed. The basic material for the electrode is cocoa pod skin. The purpose of this research is to manufacture and assemble a laboratory-scale supercapacitor chip mold, which is used to facilitate the manufacture of the chip that functions as an electric current store. After the design process is complete, it is continued to manufacture supercapacitor chips using a press system. The actuator/pressurizer uses a hydraulic jack with a capacity of 50 tons, and a mold made of ST 37 and ST 60 steel. The mold is above the jack assisted by a steel frame as a pressure barrier. And a dial indicator as a marker to stop pressing by the jack. The process of making supercapacitor chip molds starts from cutting, drilling, turning, surface grinding, and welding. After the process of making components and assembling is complete, a trial of the tool is carried out to find out whether the tool works well. After a series of tests were carried out, it turned out that this pellet mold was able to print well without any cracks.

Abstract

Proses penetasan telur unggas merupakan salah satu proses penting dalam budidaya peternakan unggas. Proses ini harus dilakukan dengan cermat dan teliti agar hasil penetasan dapat memuaskan. Namun, proses penetasan telur secara manual membutuhkan waktu dan tenaga yang cukup banyak dan terkadang belum efisien, sehingga dibuat rancangan alat penetas telur unggas otomatis kapasitas 360 butir. Alat ini menggunakan sistem pengontrolan yang dinamakan automatic computer control incubator. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk merancang mesin penetas telur unggas otomatis yang digunakan untuk mempermudah dalam pengontrolan gerakan rak telur, suhu dan kelembaban udara. Proses perancangan dimulai dari survei lapangan untuk mengetahui kebutuhan alat yang akan dirancang dan kemudian dibuatlah desain dari mesin penetas telur unggas otomatis. Mesin ini berukuran 100 x 167 x 50 cm yang terdiri dari 6 (enam) buah rak untuk meletakkan telur unggas. Pada bagian atas mesin diletakkan kontroller inkubator untuk mengontrol secara otomatis pergerakan rak, suhu, dan kelembaban mesin
