Abstract

The increasing population and the demand for soybean consumption in Indonesia are not comparable to soybean production, which is still low. Land conversion and changes in climate patterns that cause drought stress are also triggers for low production. Drought stress can be anticipated by using drought stress-tolerant cultivars at various growth phases. This study aimed to determine the effect of drought stress on yields and yield components of several soybean cultivars. In addition, to determine the soybean cultivars that are most resistant to drought stress. This study was arranged experimentally using a factorial (3x2) split-plot design. The main plot, namely drought stress, consisted of three levels: watering once a day, once every three days, and watering once every six days. The sub-plots were soybean cultivars with three replications consisting of 2 levels, namely Wilis and Anjasmoro cultivars. The selection of these 2 cultivars was made on purpose because farmers had easy access to seeds. Determination of drought stress-resistant cultivars using the stress tolerance index (ITC). Drought stress caused almost all yield and yield component variables to decrease, such as the number of pods, the number of seeds per pod, and the total weight of seeds. Based on the stress tolerance index (ITC), it is known that the Wilis cultivar is more tolerant to drought stress than the Anjasmoro cultivar.

Abstract

Global warming is a challenge faced by the agricultural sector because global warming has resulted in a decrease in production and productivity of food crops caused by natural disasters, one of which is flooding. Nagari Taram, which is a producer of food crops, especially rice, in Harau District is an area prone to flooding. So that when this area is hit by floods it will cause a decrease in rice production. Therefore, it is necessary to do afforestation as a long-term flood management strategy. The reforestation was carried out in the Kapalo Banda river basin. The plants planted are ketapang trees because ketapang trees are trees that provide many benefits such as being a shade, neutralizing the pH of water, the seeds are consumed, as building materials and most importantly the extract can be used by farmers for herbicides. It is hoped that this greening will provide knowledge, examples and motivation for the local community so that later this greening will continue to the lower reaches of the Kapalo Banda river.

Abstract

The mechanism for the agribusiness sub terminal is to collect agricultural production from the agribusiness sub terminal and partner farmers and then from traders who make pre-orders by telephone through the agribusiness sub terminal administrator. The highest bid will receive agricultural products. According to Tanjung (2018), STA is marketing infrastructure located in production centers as a place for buying and selling agricultural products, related to physical and non-physical trade, so that the focus of STA is the marketing space carried out by central producers. This research aims to first find out the internal and external environmental factors that influence STA Koba Jaya in Koto Baru Payo Basuang Village, secondly to find out the strategy for developing STA Koba Jaya in Koto Baru Payo Basuang Village. This research was carried out from July to September 2023. The research method used was descriptive qualitative. The results of this research show that the internal factors that influence the STA of cucumber commodities are: product quality, price information, product non-durability, financial condition and lack of operational vehicles. External factors that influence STA Koba Jaya cucumber commodities: market share, number of collecting traders, product price fluctuations, government support and promotions

Abstract

Limbah kulit bawang merah yang banyak dibuang oleh petani bisa dimanfaatkan kembali menjadi bahan utama pembuatan Pupuk Organik Cair (POC). Hal ini dikarenakan kulit umbi bawang merah berisi senyawa baik yang dapat berperan sebagai Zat Pengatur Tumbuh (ZPT) ataupun pertumbuhan akar. Ketika masa panen, selama proses penyeleksian bawang merah yang baik dan besar juga dihasilkan limbah berupa kulit dan daun kering yang banyak jumlahnya. Limbah tersebut juga belum dimanfaatkan dan dibuang begitu saja oleh masyarakat karena masih dianggap sampah. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, tim pengabdi melakukan beberapa tahapan seperti uji skala laboratorium yang dilakukan di laboratorium kimia Universitas Negeri Padang untuk mengetahui zat aktif apa saja yang terkandung dalam POC kulit bawang merah, pemaparan materi oleh narasumber berpengalaman, praktek langsung oleh peserta, monitoring, dan evaluasi yang dilakukan dua kali setelah praktek pembuatan pupuk dan setelah penyemprotan pupuk ke tanaman. Semua tahapan pengabdian ini berlangsung sekitar 8 bulan. Berdasarkan hasil angket yang diberikan kepada mitra, 100% mitra setuju bahwa pelatihan ini bermanfaat dan apabila mereka menggunakan POC maka biaya pembelian pupuk dapat ditekan hingga 50 – 80%. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara langsung, mitra memanfaatkan pupuk yang mereka hasilkan dari kegiatan ini dan menyampaikan bahwa pertumbuhan bawang menunjukkan hasil yang serupa jika dibandingkan dengan ketika mereka menggunakan pupuk komersil. Selain itu, masalah pencemaran lingkungan pascapanen dapat teratasi yang artinya pertanian ramah lingkungan dapat terwujud.
