Abstract

Water is a very important component for human life. The increasing number of people in Indonesia, such as in the city of Bekasi, will directly result in the demand for clean water for human daily needs getting higher. Quality of water to meet human needs must also be considered. In this case, the Bekasi government through PDAM Patriot Bekasi plays a role in fulfilling water for the needs of its people. However, water from PDAM is only used for clean water needs and cannot be consumed for drinking water. Therefore, this research will provide an alternative so that water is not only used for clean water but also can be used for drinking water by considering existing health standards referring to the Minister of Health Regulation No. 492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010 about drinking water and Minister of Health Regulation No. 416/MENKES/PER/IX/1990 about clean water. The research was carried out by filtration through two (2) samples for testing. The results showed that the use of sand in the filtration method was able to improve quality of PDAM water, both water clarity and color according to regulations as drinking water standards with an arrangement of using medium gravel, coarse sand, red brick, limestone, and fine sand.

Abstract

Sunter C river is located on Yos Sudarso street at coordinates 6°8'32,63" South Latitude, 106°53'25,78" East Longitude and downstream Sunter C river is located on Sunter Barat river street coordinates 6°8'24,78" South Latitude, 106°51'24.68" East Longitude. In area around the Sunter C river, there are still frequent floods every time the rainy season arrives because of the narrowing of canal section in upstream area of Sunter C river and Sunter C river water can’t flow gravitationally to Sentiong river because the base elevation of Sentiong river is higher than Sunter C river. From the above conditions, it’s necessary to analyze the problem of flooding in Sunter C river area to find out whether Sunter C river can still accommodate water discharge based on rainfall in the last 10 years and does the Sunter C river need normalization. Based on the results of manual calculations and HEC-RAS application, the Sunter C river can’t accommodate water discharge based on rainfall for the last 10 years of 15.88 m3/s. At point 0 - point 3 it is necessary to normalize by widening the cross-section from 3.6 m to 8 m and at point 4 from 4.8 m to 8 m.

Abstract

The need for clean water quality has increased every year, especially in big cities in Indonesia. This is triggered by the high population growth which causes the need for clean water to be urgently needed. Lack of water catchment areas and green land exacerbates the amount of clean water. In addition, the cause of the decline in clean water quality is also influenced by the many negative activities carried out by humans, one of which is the activity of disposing of garbage in the river, reservoir / setu and drainage areas. The use of chemicals, namely Poly Aluminum Cholrid (PACPOWDER) in the processing of river water or river water requires high operational costs, which results in high costs for people who subscribe to PDAM. The filtering pattern of water can be done by referring to the soil layer in the form of an aquifer, so that the water that is not good can be filtered in the presence of an aquifer and can purify the water into drinking water. The use of artificial aquifers that have currently been carried out by the Ministry of Public Works is through rain, where through the filtration of rainwater containing acidic levels it can be neutralized through artificial aquifers into clean water and can be applied to areas of high drought levels.

Abstract

Increased development of community facilities triggers changes in land use that result in less open land for infiltration. This causes run-off and little rainwater is absorbed by the soil. For this reason, it is necessary to make a reservoir in the form of an infiltration well that functions to accommodate and absorb rainwater into the ground slowly. The purpose of this study was to determine the number and point of infiltration wells. The research was conducted at the Kelapa Gading Pumping Building located in North Jakarta. The address of the registered entity is Jl. Gading Mas Timur I No. 17, RT.12 / RW.10, Pegangsaan Dua Village, Kelapa Gading District, North Jakarta City, where the Kelapa Gading Pump Building stands on an area of ± 4,000 m2, has a reservoir with an area of ± 1,955 m2 with supporting buildings in the form: 1. pump building of 160 m2, 2. substation house of 35 m2, 3. transformer house of 75 m2, 4. employee mess of 52 m2, 5. generator house of 75 m2. This research uses survey methods in the form of measurements, interviews, and to obtain the required data. Based on the data and calculation analysis according to SNI 846-2017, a circular infiltration well with a diameter of 1meter and a depth of 2 meters to 2.5 meters can be determined.

Abstract

The Tiong Channel is located on Jalan Tiong Karet Kuningan, South Jakarta, geographically located between 6°13'06.5" South Latitude and 106°49'17.0" East Longitude. On Jalan Tiong often floods when the rainy season arrives. The flood was caused by several factors, one of which was the drainage channel that could not function properly. At several points in the water channel that will lead to the Krukut River there is a lot of plastic waste from residents which causes narrowing of the channel. The non-uniform channel dimensions are also the cause of flooding, there are several channel points that experience narrowing. From the above conditions, it is necessary to do an analysis of flood problems in the Tiong Karet Kuningan Canal area of South Jakarta to find out whether the Tiong Karet Kuningan Canal in South Jakarta can still accommodate water discharge based on rainfall in the last 10 years and whether the Tiong Karet Kuningan Canal in South Jakarta needs to be normalized. Based on the results of manual calculations and the HEC-RAS application, the Tiong Karet Kuningan Canal in South Jakarta cannot accommodate water discharge based on rainfall in the last 10 years of 12.61 m3/s. At point 0 – point 350 it is necessary to normalize by widening the channel to 2 m and increasing the depth/height of the channel to 2 m. and planning of sluice gates on the downstream of the canal.

Abstract

old-formed steel has emerged as a prominent material in modern construction due to its excellent structural performance, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability. Hollow structural sections made of cold-formed steel have garnered significant attention due to their favourable strength-to-weight ratios and versatility in construction applications. In this research, the cross-section of cold-formed steel hollow structural sections will be analysed as a structure that receives a combination of compressive and bending loads. Numerical analysis was carried out using the finite element method with the help of ABAQUS software to obtain the buckling behaviour and cross-sectional capacity. The cold rolled steel regulations in SNI 79712013 or AS/NZS 4600 will be compared with numerical results to see the level of performance of the code in the case of hollow structural sections. Numerical testing and cross-sectional capacity calculations refer to existing references in the literature.

Abstract

Jalan Gading Kirana Timur, North Jakarta, experienced significant flooding problems due to an inadequate drainage system. This study aims to analyze the performance of the drainage pipeline network using EPANET v.2.0 software and compare the simulation results with manual calculations. Quantitative descriptive methods are used to collect data through literature studies and field surveys. The results of the analysis showed that the flow speed in the pipeline was above the set minimum limit, but the headloss value reached 19.38 m/km, far exceeding the maximum limit of 10 m/km. This indicates that water cannot flow properly to the disposal site, potentially causing inundation and flooding. Manual calculations and EPANET simulations show consistency in total head and headloss, with total heads at junction 2 being 32.07 m. Recommendations for improvements include increasing pipeline capacity to reduce headloss and the use of EPANET as an aid in planning more effective drainage systems. This research is expected to provide input for the community and the government in flood mitigation efforts on Jalan Gading Kirana Timur, North Jakarta. Keywords: flooding, drainage system, EPANET.

Abstract

Jakarta is facing a clean water crisis due to rapid population growth, land subsidence, and fluctuations in the supply of PDAM. This study analyzes the potential application of Artificial Aquifer Storage Rainwater (ABSAH) technology as an alternative solution for providing clean water in densely populated residential areas. The study was conducted in Gading Kirana RW 08 Housing, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, with an area of 42 hectares. The research method includes the analysis of BMKG rainfall data at the Tanjung Priok Maritime Meteorological Station for the period 2016–2025, the calculation of the volume of rainwater availability from a roof area of 252.000 m², the analysis of domestic water needs based on SNI 6728.1:2015 (200 liters/person/day), and the planning of the ABSAH system with a depth of 2.5 meters. The results showed that the daily availability of rainwater fluctuated between 2.015,19–9.099,65 m³, while the domestic needs of the community were 1.243 m³/day. The analysis of the water balance shows that there is an annual surplus of 33.159,79 m³ that can be utilized through the ABSAH system. The implementation of the system requires 173 units of ABSAH tubs with a capacity of 150 m³ with dimensions of 12 m × 5 m × 2.5 m, serving a ratio of 7 houses per unit. The ABSAH system integrates rainwater storage, artificial recharge, and flood mitigation functions to support urban water resilience. This study provides a model for the implementation of ABSAH technology for similar residential areas and contributes to the achievement of SDGs related to sustainable clean water access. Keywords: ABSAH, rainwater harvesting, artificial aquifers, urban water resilience, North Jakarta

Abstract

The Banglio connecting channel (PHB) in Cilincing Subdistrict, North Jakarta, is one of the drainage systems that is frequently affected by flooding during the rainy season and by tidal inundation from the sea. Field observations identified several physical constraints along the channel, including cables crossing the channel, waste accumulation, sedimentation, encroaching structures, and a limited pump operating time caused by the absence of a cooling system. This study aims to evaluate the physical condition and hydraulic capacity of the Banglio channel and pump station in conveying the design flood discharge. Hydrological analysis was carried out using ten years of annual maximum rainfall data from the Tanjung Priok rainfall station, processed through frequency analysis using the Gumbel, Normal, Log Normal, and Log Pearson Type III distributions, followed by a Chi-Square goodness-of-fit test. The design flood hydrograph was generated using the Gamma I Synthetic Unit Hydrograph (SUH) method, while the hydraulic simulation was performed with HEC-RAS software under four scenarios: existing channel without pump, existing channel with pump, planned (normalized) channel without pump, and planned channel with pump. The results show a 10-year design discharge of 13.27 m3/s. The existing channel produced a maximum water level of 4.94 m without the pump and 4.90 m with the pump, both of which exceeded the channel capacity and caused overflow. After normalization, the maximum water level decreased to 1.67 m without the pump and 1.59 m with the pump, and no overflow was observed. These findings indicate that channel normalization combined with pump operation is the most effective alternative for controlling flooding in the study area. Keywords: drainage channel; pump capacity; HEC-RAS; flood discharge; Gamma I synthetic unit hydrograph
