Abstract

Bunga Rosela sangat kaya akan manfaat, tak terkecuali pada bidang farmasi yakni memiliki banyak aktivitas farmakologi untuk berbagai pengobatan. Ekstrak etanol bunga Rosela mempunyai aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Staphylococcus epidermidis dan Staphylococcus aureus sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai obat jerawat. Guna mempermudah penggunaan dan meningkatkan nilai ekonomis, maka dibuat dalam bentuk masker gel peel off. Komponen dalam masker gel peel off yang paling berpengaruh terhadap karakteristik fisik sediaan adalah bahan pembentuk lapisan film dan pembentuk gel. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui komposisi optimum Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) sebagai pembentuk lapisan film dan Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC) adanya formulasi gel ekstrak bunga rosela terhadap sifat fisik sediaan masker gel peel off ekstrak etanol bunga Rosela dengan metode optimasi simplex lattice design. Ekstraksi bunga Rosela dilakukan secara remaserasi dengan kombinasi pelarut etanol96% : asam sitrat 10% (9:1). Rentang kadar PVA dan HPMC yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah 1015% dan 0-5%. Parameter respon yang digunakan dalam penilaian optimasi sediaan adalah daya sebar, daya lekat, pH, waktu mengering. Formula optimum diperoleh berdasarkan analisis dengan bantuan software Design Expert 10.0. Formula optimum masker gel peel off ekstrak etanol bunga Rosela diperoleh dengan perbandingan PVA dan HPMC 10,575% : 4,425%. Karakteristik fisik sediaan yang diperoleh dari formula optimum adalah daya sebar sebesar 39,885 cm2; daya lekat sebesar 6,01 detik; waktu mongering sebesar 6,14 menit dan pH sebesar 2,78. Kondisi pH sangat mempengaruhi warna dari sediaan namun tidak mengurangi kandungan antosianin dalam sediaan masker gel pell off.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kulit buah manggis mengandung mangostin yang berkhasiat untuk obat diare dengan mekanisme menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli yang banyak mengkontaminasi makanan. Secara tradisional digunakan dalam bentuk rebusan yang dirasa tidak acceptable. Tablet menjadi pilihan dengan alasan praktis, mudah digunakan dan murah.Efek kulit buah manggis sebagai obat diare diharapkan dapat diperoleh secara cepat setelah penggunaan, sehingga perlu dilakukan optimasi penggunaan bahan pengahancur dan bahan pengikat pada formula tablet. Penelitan bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh dan komposisi yang tepat yang terdiri atas polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) sebagai pengikat dan sodium starch glycolate (SSG) sebagai bahan penghancur. Rancangan formula dibuat berdasarkan perhitungan menggunakan software design expert dengan metode simplex lattice design. Pengujian dilakukan pada aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak dan karakteristik tablet. Hasil uji aktivitas anti bakteri diperoleh Kadar Hambat Minimal (KHM) 30%. Hasil Uji kekerasan didapatkan persamaan Y=6XA+4,27XB+0,67XAB dan persamaan waktu hancur tablet adalah Y=14,07XA+5,13XB-3,2XAB. Peningkatan kadar PVP dan SSG dapat meningkatkan kekerasan dan waktu hancur tablet, sedangkan interaksi PVP dan SSG dalam tablet dapat meningkatkan kekerasan serta menurunkan waktu hancur tablet. Formula optimum diperoleh konsentrasi PVP 0,58% dan SSG 6,42% dengan kekerasan 5,3 kg dan waktu hancur 4 menit 55 detik. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa formula optimum yang didapat memenuhi persyaratan validitas.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Extracts of mengkudu fruit and mahkota dewa leaf each contain compounds that can be efficacious antibacterial Staphylococcus Aureus (acne-causing bacteria), but at high concentrations. The combination of both is expected to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the use if the dosage form is formulated in a transparent soap. Selection of dosage forms based on a transparent soap acceptabilitas reasons. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of each and interactions extract of mengkudu fruit and mahkota dewa leaf in diameter clear zone antibacterial activity test by the method of pitting and dilution method with a parameter number of colony can then be determined comparison of the two extracts were having antibacterial activity optimum. The test results stated good use of each and combinations can enhance the clear zone according to the equation Y = 0.811 + 0.011 + 0.007 B + A 1.56. 10-5 AB, the parameters of the number of colonies also give the same result Y = 42.781 to 0.316 A - 0.228 0.006 A B + B. Optimal combination obtained extract concentration of 30% mengkudu fruit extract and 40% mahkota dewa leaf extract. Test the antibacterial activity of a combination of transparent soap mengkudu fruit and mahkota dewa leaf extracts with an optimal combination produces a clear zone diameter of 2.509 cm. Abstract

ABSTRACTIndonesia is a country with abundant natural resources, one of which tubers. Plants types of tubers that have a lot of glucomannan content of the tuber porang. Glucomannan is used as a diet in patients with hypercholesterolemia. Glucomannan from tubers porang (Amorphophallus oncophyllus Prain ex Hook.f.) serves as a water-soluble fiber and have a low calorie.The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of glucomannan tuber porang (Amorphophallus oncophyllus Prain ex Hook.f.) to decrease total blood cholesterol mice fed a high-fat diet and to determine what dose of glucomannan tubers porang most effective for lowering blood cholesterol.The treatment in this study is glucomannan flour dose of 25 mg / kg; 50 mg / kg; and 100 mg / kg. The population in this study was a white rat (Rattus norvegicus) males aged 2-3 months with BB ± 200 g.Giving glucomannan porang tubers dose 25 mg / kg; 50 mg / kg; and 100 mg / kg give effect to the reduction in total blood cholesterol mice fed a high-fat diet. Effective dose for lowering total cholesterol levels of mice that is 50 mg / kg.Keywords: glucomannan tuber porang (Amorphophallus oncophyllus Prain ex Hook.f.), total cholesterol.

Abstract

ABSTRACT   Staphylococcus aureus is one of the  acne-causing bacteria. 1,8 cineole is the content of eucalyptus leaves oil which has antibacterial activity Staphylococcus aureus. This research  aimed to examine the effective consentration of eucalyptus leaves oil as an Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 29213 antibacterial. Eucalyptus leaves oil made in series a concentration of 5%, 7,5% and 10% for antibacterial activity  test  using the  pitting  diffusion method. Based on the test result of antibacterial activity gained an average diameter of inhibition zone eucalyptus leaves oil successively 1,286 cm; 1,424 cm; 1,574 cm. The statistically test  results showed significant difference in the antibacterial activity of eucalyptus leaves oil in concentrations 5%, 7,5% and 10% to the growth of Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 29213. Eucalyptus leaves oil has an effective concentration of 10% as an antibacterial stapgylocuccus aureus and made cream formula. Test of antibacterial activity obtained resistibility zone diameter 1,136 cm. The result of t-test indicated that cream formula has significant effect on antibacterial activity. Abstract

Starch is often used as a filler, crusher, and binder in solid preparations. One source of starch can be found in red dragon fruit stems. When making starch, browning often occurs which causes the flour to become brownish, which can reduce public acceptance. Efforts are made to prevent browning in the starch making process by using sodium bisulfite solution. This study aims to determine the effect of different sodium bisulfite soaking times on the characteristics of red dragon fruit stem starch (Hylocereus polyrhizus) to be used as a solid preparation additive and to determine the length of sodium bisulfite soaking time that can produce red dragon fruit stem starch (Hylocereus polyrhizus) characteristics that meet the standards of solid preparation additives. The results of the analysis showed significant differences in yield, moisture content, flow velocity, angle of repose, pH, solubility, expandability, compressibility index, bulk density, tap density, true density, and Hausner index. FTIR analysis showed that red dragon fruit stem starch contains starch functional groups. Based on the results of the red dragon fruit stem characterization test, the best treatment was obtained, namely 1 hour soaking, producing starch with physical characteristics suitable for solid preparation additives.

Abstract

Kolang kaling (Arenga pinnata) is one of the results of the palm tree. The process of processing palm fruit into and fro can affect the quality of the fruit and fro produced.  The purpose of this study was to determine the physico-chemical characteristic, IC 50 value of fresh fruit and fro, the powder was dried in the microwave at low temperature (40oC) for 5 days, medium (53oC) for 4 hours and high (78oC) for 2 hours, and to find out whether there are effect of difference in fresh fruit and fro treatment on antioxidant activity.  Fresh fruit and fro were tested for phytochemical screening and FTIR, physicochemical characteristics and antioxidant, Antioxidant testing used the DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhidrazyl) method. The results of phytochemical screening and FTIR showed the presence of galactomanan compounds.  The antioxidant test results obtained the IC50 value of fresh fruit and fro, the powder was dried in the microwave at low temperature, medium and high respectively 104.8488; 25.2963; 90.0155 and163.4381 ppm. The statistical test results showed a value of 0.000<0.05,  there is a difference IC50 between groups
