ABSTRAK Merokok salah satu masalah kesehatan utama yang sering ditemukan pada masyarakat di dunia termasuk pada remaja di semua wilayah di Propinsi Aceh, Indonesia. Intervensi peningkatan kemampuan menolak rokok (tobacco refusal skill) dianggap penting bagi remaja dan dipercayai dapat memberikan hasil positif untuk pencegahan dan/atau penghentian merokok pada remaja dibanyak negara di dunia. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan ketrampilan dan melatih kemampuan menolak rokok (tobacco refusal skill) remaja dengan benar dan berbasis bukti. Metode kegiatan dimulai dengan pemilihan wilayah dan seleksi remaja peserta, implementasi kegiatan dan evaluasi efektivitas program, dan terminasi. Pengkajian awal (pre-test) dan pengkajian akhir (post-test) dilakukan pada 14 remaja terpilih dari sebuah Gampong (Desa) di Aceh Besar dengan memberikan melalui google form untuk evaluasi efektivitas kegiatan yang dilakukan. Implementasi berupa edukasi tentang rokok dan bahayanya serta demontrasi dan latihan refusal skill dalam beberapa scenario diberikan kepada remaja peserta program. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan menolak rokok remaja setelah mengikuti kegiatan yang diberikan. Pelatihan kemampuan menolak rokok (tobacco refusal skill) terbukti memberikan hasil positif untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan strategi merokok bagi remaja. Kepada pihak desa, Puskesmas dan tenaga kesehatan direkomendasikan untuk menggunakan tobacco refusal skill dalam kegiatan pencegahan perilaku merokok pada remaja. Kata Kunci: Refusal Skill, Tembakau, Perilaku Merokok, Remaja ABSTRACT Smoking is one of the main health issues commonly found in societies around the world, including among teenagers in all regions of Aceh Province, Indonesia. Interventions to improve refusal skills are considered important for teenagers and believed to have positive impact in the prevention and/or cessation of smoking among teenagers in many countries abroad. The current community service program aims to develop and install an appropriate and evidence-based tobacco refusal skill on teenagers.Program Intervention method was started with the selection of intervention setting and participants, followed by implementation intervention, program effectiveness evaluation, and termination. An initial assessment (pre-test) and after intervention completion evaluation (post-test) were administered to the 14 selected students from one village in Aceh Besar using a google form to determine the effectiveness of the administed program intervention. Program implementation included education about smoking and its dangers as well as demonstration and tobacco refusal skill training in several scenerios were given to program participants. The evaluation results showed an increase in teenagers’knowledge and tobacco refusal skill after the program intervention completion. A tobacco refusal skills training has proven to have positive impacts in enhancing knowledge and strategies regarding smoking among teenagers. It is recommended the village authorities, health centers, and healthcare workers to utilize tobacco refusal skills in their smoking prevention smoking behaviors among adolescents.
