Abstract

Humidity is the concentration of water vapor in the air. In agriculture, air humidity is associated with increased productivity and development of cultivated plants, humidity in the environment where it grows can determine the selection of appropriate plant species, the purpose of this study was to determine air humidity in paddy fields between April, May , and June, changes in air humidity at any time describe the water vapor content in the air can be expressed as absolute humidity, relative or vapor pressure deficit, relative humidity compares the actual water vapor content/pressure with its saturation state or the air's capacity to accommodate water vapor. The relationship between air humidity in paddy fields in Tanah Merah Village is relatively low, this is the impact of changes in temperature, quantity and quality of radiation, wind movement, air pressure, vegetation, and availability of water and productivity of irrigated ricefields

Abstract

Food security is a global challenge due to the heavy reliance on staple food commodities. Diversifying food sources based on local tropical plants is one of the key strategies to address this issue. The mata kucing fruit (Dimocarpus longan var. malesianus Leenh.), an endemic plant of Kalimantan, has the potential to be developed as an alternative food source. This study aimed to determine the effect of seed soaking duration in red onion (Allium cepa L. var. ascalonicum) extract on the germination percentage and rate of D. longan var. malesianus. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a single factor was used, consisting of four treatments (P0, P1, P2, and P3) with 30 replications for each treatment. This study shows a positive biological response to scarification treatment with shallot extract (P1, P2, P3) on the percentage and rate of germination of Dimocarpus longan var. malesianus seeds compared to the control (P0). However, the results of the ANOVA analysis show that the differences between treatments are not statistically significant. These findings indicate that the duration of immersion and the concentration of shallot extract used in this study have not yet reached the optimal level to produce a significant increase in germination effectiveness. Abstract

Tanah merupakan salah satu media tumbuh untuk tanaman yang mengandung berbagai macam unsur hara esensial yang berguna untuk pertumbuhan. Pengetahuan beberapa unsur hara makro sangat berguna untuk menunjang keberhasilan penanaman. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kandungan unsur hara Nitrogen, Fosfor, Kalium dan PH Tanah di bawah tanaman jabon (Anthocephalus cadamba Miq,) umur satu tahun yang ditumpangsarikan dengan padi mayas dan tanaman jabon yang murni, juga bagaimana perkembangan pertumbuhan diameter tanaman jabon tersebut di PT. Bhinneka Wana yang terletak di desa Santan Ulu, Kecamatan Marang Kayu, Kabupaten Kutai Kartanegara, Kalimantan Timur. Untuk masing-masing perlakuan diambil sampel tanah komposit pada kedalaman 90 cm seberat ± 1kg dari permukaan tanah sebanyak 5 ulangan dengan menggunakan bor tanah, kemudian dibawa ke laboratorium tanah untuk dianalisis kandungan hara N, P, K dan pH-nya. Kemudian pengukuran diameter tanaman jabon dilakukan dengan menggunakan phiband pada ketinggian 1,3 meter dari permukaan tanah dan diambil sebanyak 60 pohon untuk setiap perlakuan. Data yang didapat dianalisis dengan analisis deskriptif dan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pertumbuhan diameternya di lakukan uji t. Dari hasil analisis data dan pembahasan, maka dapat disimpulkkan bahwa tanaman tumpangsari mampu meningkatkan kandungan unsur N, P, K tapi belum bisa meningkatkan pertumbuhan diameter tanaman jabon secara signifikan. Selain itu, pengaruhnya kepada peningkatan pH tanah juga relatif kecil. Pertumbuhan diameter tanaman jabon relatif kecil dengan jarak tanam yang lebar, hal ini diduga diakibatkan oleh faktor tidak adanya pemupukan langsung kepada tanaman jabon.

Abstract

Weeds growing wild among the staple crops cultivated by farmers have become a serious problem and must be immediately controlled, especially in forestry, agricultural and plantation areas. Therefore, practical knowledge is needed about how to manage the problem of weeds that grow undesirable and how to overcome them. Non-chemical weed control is carried out with physical activity. Physical activity carried out by workers while working is a physical workload that will affect their work productivity. The weight or lightness of work done by workers can be measured through direct measurements of human limbs or physique, among others, heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature, sweat rate, consumption of inhaled oxygen and chemical content in the blood. This study aims to identify the use of semi mechanical weed tools and brush cutter as well as analyze the physical workload experienced by workers. The stages and methods of research are carried out by measuring and testing tools in the field based on technical aspects including theoretical work capacity, effective work, field efficiency, fuel consumption, while ergonomic work aspects by measuring workload and fatigue levels directly on the operator's heart rate. From the measurement and calculation of the Increase Ratio of Heart Rate (IRHR), the lowest workload level was obtained with an index of 1.15 and the highest workload level of 1.51.
