Abstract

Mobile learning using technology is the main challenge for Generation Z students today. This challenge will affect students' independence and ability to learn. For this reason, this research aims to test the implementation of mobile learning using the Flipped Direct Instruction (FDI) model and develop Jarkom FDI learning media using a constructivist approach. This type of research is Quasi-Experimental Research. The control class and experimental class were used in this research. The Direct Instruction (DI) model is applied in the control class, and the FDI model is used for the experimental class. This research uses quantitative and primary data types. The methods used to collect data are questionnaires and tests. The instruments used to collect data were questionnaires and question sheets. The techniques used to analyze data are qualitative and quantitative statistical analysis. Data was obtained using test instruments and calculated using the Gain Score method. The results of the research are Jarkom FDI learning media along with mobile learning implementation data. This data obtains a percentage of the Gain Score, namely 75.04%, with a minimum percentage of 61.7% and a maximum percentage of 100.0%. 75.04% answered the research hypothesis that there is a significant influence of implementing mobile learning design in the FDI learning model with a constructivist approach on the results of computer network installation practicum learning. It was concluded that the learning model that uses mobile with a constructivist approach effectively improves students' cognitive and psychomotor abilities. The results of this study are expected to be one of the qualified options for increasing the effectiveness of the implementation of Computer Network Installation learning.

Abstract

This study focuses on developing a website for transparency in the use of Village Funds in Durian IV Mbelang Village, so that the community can more easily monitor the allocation and utilization of village funds. The main problem was the limited access to information related to village funds which hinders community participation in supervision. The proposed solution included developing a website using the Waterfall method and the Laravel framework, equipped with PHP technology for coding and MySQL for data management, with the aim of providing easy access and transparency of information for village communities. The development process started from analyzing user needs to implementing features for information accessibility. Testing using the Black Box method and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) showed that this website is effective in providing real-time information and can be easily accessed. Overall, this website is expected to be able to increase community involvement in monitoring the use of Village Funds and strengthen the accountability of its management.

Abstract

The integration of information technology in vocational education plays a vital role in improving the effectiveness and efficiency of practical learning programs such as Field Work Practice (PKL). This study aims to develop a web-based internship management information system that supports the organization, supervision, and evaluation of PKL activities in vocational high schools. The system was developed using the Laravel framework with PHP as the programming language and MySQL as the database management system. The Waterfall method was adopted to ensure a structured and systematic development process. Key features of the system include real-time student attendance tracking through selfie verification with geolocation, a digital daily journal, an integrated assessment mechanism, and automated certificate generation accessible by both school and industry mentors. The implementation of the system at SMK Negeri 2 Padang demonstrates its effectiveness in reducing the accumulation of physical documents and enhancing the monitoring and administration of internship activities. The results highlight the system's potential to improve the quality of internship management and provide a model for similar implementations in other vocational institutions.

Abstract

The increasing demand for effective school-to-work transition mechanisms in vocational education highlights the need for integrated digital platforms. At State Vocational High School 2 Padang Panjang, the dissemination of job vacancy information and alumni data management remains manual, fragmented, and inefficient. Traditional communication channels, such as WhatsApp groups and direct phone calls, often fail to reach all alumni, while data collection via Google Forms lacks automation, scalability, and security. To address these challenges, this study developed a web-based Special Job Fair Information System using the Prototype development model. The system was implemented using the Laravel framework and MySQL database, allowing for real-time data management, secure job vacancy submissions, automated alumni tracking, and dynamic report generation. Performance testing using GTMetrix demonstrated strong system reliability, with a performance score of 94%, structure score of 97%, and favorable metrics including 1.5 seconds for Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), 0 milliseconds Total Blocking Time (TBT), and a Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) score of 0. These results indicate a fast, stable, and responsive user experience. The system offers a scalable solution for improving graduate employability services in vocational education institutions, particularly in resource-constrained environments.

Abstract

Delays in undergraduate thesis completion are a persistent issue in higher education, particularly within the Informatics Engineering Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Padang. While prior studies have explored general academic barriers, limited research has systematically quantified the internal and external factors that hinder thesis progress in this specific context. This study addresses this gap by identifying and analyzing the dominant factors contributing to thesis delays using a quantitative approach supported by Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Data were collected through structured surveys distributed to final-year students. The analysis revealed six key influencing factors: motivation, thesis writing ability, health conditions, family support, supervisor guidance, and peer influence. Among these, motivation and writing ability were identified as the most dominant, with a combined variance contribution of 0.932. The novelty of this study lies in its integrated factor-based model that quantitatively distinguishes between internal and external constraints. These findings offer a practical foundation for targeted academic interventions and policy development aimed at accelerating thesis completion rates in vocational informatics education.
