Abstract

Spirulina is a microalgae have a high nutrient content and bioactive compound were good for health. This microalgae can be cultivated indoor or outdoor as needed. One of the applications of Spirulina is for lozenges. The purpose of this study is determine the effect of packaging and shelf life of Spirulina lozenges on the growth of bacteria and fungi. This microalgae can be cultivated indoor or outdoor as needed. One of the applications of Spirulina is for lozenges. Bacteria and fungi still grow on the Spirulina lozenge which packaged using alumunium foil and plastic bottle. However bacteria and fungi total on Spirulina lozenge during storage on 8 weeks are not different.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Spirulina contains complete nutrition and bioactive components as a source of antioxidants. The aims of this research were to determine a formula of troche from Spirulina platensis according to the physical characteristic standard of the Indonesian Health Ministry, and to determine the antioxidant activity of the selected troche from Spirulina platensis. This research was conducted in three stages. The first stage was troches formulation. The second stage was troches physical analyses, including weight uniformity, friability, hardnes, and disintegration time. The third stage was to determine the antioxidant activity of the selected formula of troche from Spirulina platensis. There were five formulas of troches i.e., FTS 1, FTS 2, FTS 3, FTS 4, and FTS 5. The troche consisted of Spirulina platensis powder, carrageenan, gelatin, corn flour, sugarleaf, and mint powder. Based on the weight uniformity of the troche, all formulas met the standard. However, according to friability aspect, the best formula was FTS 1 with rate of 1.7%. The hardness of five formula ranged from 0.65 to 2.3 Kp, and none met the standard. The best formula based on disintegration time measurement was FTS 1 (24:47 minutes). Based on the physical characteristics of the troches, the selected formula was FTS 1. The antioxidant activity (IC50 of the selected formula (FTS 1) was 288,68 ppm.   Keywords: antioxidant, troches, physical characteristics of troches, Spirulina platensis

Abstract

Lebak Petai is a place for fishing by fishermen and auction holders. A continuous fishing system can affect the diversity of fish in these waters. The aims of this research was to identify the type of fish, length and weight of the fish, analyze the species diversity index, uniformity index, relative abundance, dominance and water quality. This research was carried out from July to September 2021. Sampling took place in Lebak Petai, Pedamaran sub-district, Ogan Komering Ilir district, using three sampling stations. The results of the research showed that there were 530 types of fish caught in Lebak Petai, consisting of 13 types of fish belonging to 9 families. The largest fish in length and weight was the Barbonymus schwanenfeldii fish, namely 12-25.5 in length and 21.11- 188.92 in weight, while the lowest fish was the Elops mchnata fish, namely 9-10.5 in length and 5.58-8.5 in weight. The diversity index was classified as medium, namely 2.33-2.51, the uniformity index was classified as uneven, namely 0.92-0.98, the highest relative abundance in Lebak Petai is Trichogaster pectoralis, and there was no dominant fish, namely between 0.9-0.11. The water quality during the research in Lebak Petai, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency was still within a suitable range for fish life.

Abstract

Tawes (Barbodes javanicus) termasuk dominan dan mempunyai nilai ekonomi. Penelitian dilakukan dari bulan Maret sampai April tahun 2022. Analisis di laboratorium perikanan Universitas Islam Ogan Komering Ilir Kayuagung. Analisis data mencakup panjang berat, indeks dan tingkat Dari hasil penelitian, ikan tawes memiliki bobot tubuh sebesar 147 gram, dari 39 ikan tawes yang diamati, bobot ikan terbesar yaitu 460 gram dan bobot ikan tawes terkecil adalah 70 gram. Rasio kelamin ikan tawes jantan lebih mendominasi dari ikan tawes betina. ikan tawes menghasilkan nilai b = 3.3229 , memiliki pola pertumbuhan allometrik positif. Ikan tawes betina memiliki tingkat gonad yaitu pulih salin. Indeks kematangan gonad (IKG) yang dihasilkan sebesar 2,03 %. Data ikan tawes indeks preponderan kelompok fitoplankton yaitu sebesar 75,5%, zooplankton sebesar 9,97%, bagian hewan sebesar 4,24% dan detritus sebesar 10,24%. Ikan tawes ini memiliki kebiasaan makan dengan menjadikan beberapa jenis dari fitoplankton sebagai pakan utama dan beberapa jenis dari zooplankton dan detritus sebagai kelompok pakan pelengkap
