Abstract

This study aims to analyze the message of da'wah in the tradition of besaprah (eating together). This research is a qualitative interpretive paradigm. Data were collected in three ways, through observation, interviews, and document studies. While the method used to analyze data is the semiotics method. Based on the analysis that has been done, can be concluded that the teachings of Islam are conveyed through cultural symbols that are packaged properly in the tradition of besaprah. The message of da'wah in the tradition of besaprah is conveyed through cultural symbols. In general the message of da'wah can be divided into three aspects of Islamic teachings. First, the message of faith is related to monotheism and the pillars of faith. Second, the message of sharia is related to observance of implementing Islamic teachings in daily life. Abstract

This study aims to analyze cultural da’wah in the maantar jujuran tradition in the Banjar tribe in Samuda, Kotawaringin Timur Regency, Central Kalimantan Province. This study used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The data were collected in three ways: observation, interviews, and documentary studies. This study found that the people of the Banjar tribe in Samuda understand that da'wah is not only limited to verbal delivery and the specificity of da'wah activities but also has an understanding that da'wah can be carried out indirectly with a cultural approach so that it is easily accepted by the community. The substance of the da'wah message in the maantar jujuran tradition represents the Banjar tribe in Samuda, who views the importance of a balance between fulfilling the needs of religious spirituality and spirituality with social human needs.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims at analyzing the da'wa management of the grand mosque. This qualitative research takes a phenomenological approach. Specifically Fred R. David’s strategic management model used to analyze the management of da'wah at the Darussalam Grand Mosque. There are three aspects of management that are the focus of this study, namely formulation, implementation, and evaluation of da'wah. The data was collected through observation, interviews and documentary studies. The results revealed that there were three important points in the mosque's da'wa management. Firstly, the mosque's managerial team made an adaptation by reformulating their programs for today's pandemic. Secondly, the implementation of the da'wah programs is not only intended to increasing the devotion of the congregation, but also the literacy and habituation of the health protocols both with verbal and non-verbal communication. Thirdly, the evaluation is done continuously so that the implementation is in accordance with the formulated targets. It is concluded that the da'wa management of da'wah at the grand mosque during the Covid-19 pandemic is not only about  increasing the ritual piety but also creating social kindness and humanitarian care through applying the health protocols and Covid-19 literacy. The implication of the results of this study is as a model for the management of mosque da'wah in responding and adapting to various force majeure conditions.Keywords : Da’wa Management; Covid-19; Pandemic; The Darussalam Grand Mosque

Abstract

Marriage is a basic human need, so in certain societies it becomes sacred tradition. The sacredness of marriage is manifested in the series of customs that are required to be carried out. The sacredness of the marriage is believed in society as the Sambas Malay community in West Kalimantan. In Sambas Malay, This tradition is popular as the tradition of Antar Pinang Pulang Memulangkan, which has been an important part in the customs of marriage until today. This tradition is not an empty tradition without meaning, instead it has a very high meaning and is a cultural da'wah with the internalization of Islamic teachings in everyday life. This research focuses on the design of cultural da'wah in the tradition of Antar Pinang Pulang Memulangkan. Using interpretive paradigms, with phenomenological methods and anthropological-sociological approach, this study found: first, the tradition of Antar Pinang Pulang Memulangkan is an effort to internalize Islamic teachings to strengthen four main aspects of the Muslim lives, namely 1) human relations with their creators. 2) suitable for human biological needs. 3) human relations in the family. 4) human relations with society in general. Second, an interesting approach by synergizing non-verbal messages through symbols and verbal messages through the language class in poetry, and suitable  to meet the fundamental interests of humans makes this tradition of Antar Pinang Pulang Memulangkan as a model in the development of cultural da’wah.Perkawinan merupakan kebutuhan mendasar manusia sehingga pada masyarakat tertentu menjadi tradisi yang sakral. Sakralitas perkawinan diantaranya diwujudkan dengan rentetan adat istiadat yang diharuskan untuk dilaksanakan. Sakralitas perkawinan tersebut diyakini oleh masyarakat Melayu Sambas Kalimantan Barat. Pada Melayu Sambas dikenal tradisi antar Antar Pinang Pulang Memulangkan yang hingga saat ini menjadi bagian penting dalam tahapan adat istiadat pernikahan. Tradisi ini bukan tradisi yang kosong tanpa makna, tetapi justru memiliki makna yang sangat tinggi dan merupakan dakwah kultural dengan adanya internalisasi ajaran Islam dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini terfokus pada desain dakwah kultural pada tradisi Antar Pinang Pulang Memulangkan. Menggunakan paradigma interpretif, dengan metode fenomenologi dan pendekatan antropologis-sosiologi, penelitian ini menemukan: Pertama, tradisi Antar Pinang Pulang Memulangkan merupakan upaya internalisasi ajaran Islam untuk memperkuat empat aspek utama dalam kehidupan umat Islam yaitu 1) hubungan manusia dengan penciptanya. 2) pemenuhan kebutuhan biologis manusia. 3) hubungan manusia dalam keluarga. 4) hubungan manusia dengan masyarakat secara luas. Kedua, pendekatan yang menarik dengan mensinergiskan pesan non verbal melalui simbol dan pesan verbal melalui bahasa kias dalam pantun, serta mampu menyentuh kepentingan mendasar manusia menjadikan tradisi Antar Pinang Pulang Memulangkan sebagai model dalam pengembangan dakwah kultural.

Abstract

Bencana alam merupakan fenomena yang sudah tidak lagi asing bagi masyarakat Indonesia. Diantara bencana alam yang sering terjadi di Indonesia adalah banjir. Akibat banjir yang terjadi, begitu banyak kerugian yang harus ditanggung oleh pemerintah dan masyarakat. Kerugian yang ditimbulkan banjir ini akan semakin kompleks lagi jika daerah yang terkena banjir tersebut merupakan daerah terpencil, tertinggal seperti di desa Semangak dan Sepantai kecamatan Sejangkung kabupaten Sambas. Berbagai upaya dapat dilakukan untuk memberikan bantuan kepada korban banjir dua daerah ini. Diantara upaya tersebut seperti yang dilakukan oleh asrama Romantika yaitu dengan memberikan bantuan makanan dan pakaian layak pakai. Kegiatan filantropi yang dilakukan oleh asrama Romantika mencapai hasil yang melampaui target awal. Keberhasilan ini merupakan indikasi bahwa proses manajemen dalam kegiatan filantropis ini berjalan dengan baik. Masalah yang menjadi fokus dalam penelitian ini adalah tentang proses formulasi, implementasi dan evaluasi dalam manajemen filantropi bantuan untuk bencana banjir di kabupaten Sambas oleh asrama Mahasiswa tahun 2015. Oleh karena itu tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan proses formulasi, implementasi dan evaluasi dalam manajemen filantropi bantuan untuk bencana banjir di kabupaten Sambas oleh asrama Mahasiswa tahun 2015. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam analisis data adalah deskriptip analitis. Berdasarkan analisa disimpulkan bahwa proses manajemen filantropi dalam bantuan untuk bencana banjir di kabupaten Sambas oleh asrama Mahasiswa tahun 2015 telah dilakukan dengan baik. Masing-masing tahapan dalam manajemen filantropi ini menggunakan pendekatan dan metode yang relevan. Proses formulasi  yang digunakan dalam manajemen filantropi asrama Romantika adalah model perencanaan skenario. Proses implementasi dalam manajemen filantropi asrama Romantika menggunakan pendekatan job deskription. Sedangkan proses evaluasi yang dilakukan dalam manajemen filantropi asrama Romantika menggunakan model CIPP.

Abstract

Tebas District is part of the 3 T region which has the largest population in Sambas district. Most of the population in the Tebas sub-district are spread in 23 villages where transportation access is quite alarming. This reality is not balanced with the number of non PNS Islamic religious instructors appointed by the Ministry of Religion, which amounted to only three people in 2019. Despite having limited personnel, the propaganda carried out with religious guidance was able to touch all circles and entire Tebas sub-district. This study aims to analyze da'wah through religious guidance carried out by Islamic religious instructors in the Tebas sub-district which is in the interior (3 T). This study is a field research using qualitative methods. The results of the analysis of the research findings can be concluded that the religious guidance carried out by Islamic religious instructors in the Tebas sub-district of Sambas district still uses a conventional coaching approach that emphasizes the delivery of da'wah messages orally and directly. Nonetheless, non-PNS Islamic religious instructors in Tebas district, Sambas district, their guidance efforts were carried out with a "pick up ball" pattern and were systematically scheduled. The selection of the guidance approach is based on the social reality of the missionary objectives that are still lagging behind both in terms of technology, access to information and transportation, and limited personnel resources in conducting guidance.

Abstract

Previous studies that have been conducted in relation to women’s work ethics in traditional society seem to inadequately generalize the holistic women’s work ethics of tradional society in general. This article was intended to explain another reality found in Tangkahen Dayak moslem society, Indonesia, that is different from general views telling that women in traditional society are not financially productive, have economics dependency to men, and tend to be lazy. This current study was set as qualitative study by using phenomenological approach. The data were selected through observation, interviews, and documentary study. It was found from the result of study that double role that is played by the women of Tangkahen Dayak Moslem have no impact to their productivity and their household chores. In fact, income those women earned from their work can sustain the economic condition of Tangkahen Dayak Moslem families. Thus, it can be concluded that not all women in traditional society have low work ethics. At this stage, social values and norms that are embedded in a society have major influences on realization of women’s work ethics. The social values and norms embedded in Tangkahen Dayak Moslem were found to be a major factor that is able to support and improve women’s work ethics. Accordingly, the general negative stigma about women’s work ethics in traditional society can be proven wrong by the reality of women’s work ethics in Tangkahen Dayak Moslem society. In other words, negative views about women’s work ethics in traditional society only occured in certain communities and can not be used to generalize all women’s work ethics in general traditional society.

Abstract

Abstract: This paper aims to analyze the social interaction among the religious elites in Palangka Raya. The focus of this writing was the patterns of interaction among the religious elites, the encouraging factors of interaction, and the implications of interaction among the religious communities towards the social life among the religious communities in Palangka Raya. This research is a field research using a qualitative method. The data was collected through observation and interview. It was concluded that the interaction among the religious elites in Palangka Raya was supported by the integrative strengths which enable the harmonious relationship among the religious elites. These integrative strengths were the cultural values which have rooted and have been inherited to the next generations, especially to Dayak society. The religious difference in Dayak culture is not seen as the opposing form, but as a human right and a personal choice of each person. On this level the patterns of interaction which will be formed is integrative solidarity. The harmonious relationship among the religious elites then has implications towards the social life among the religious communities. These implicationswere the realization of the harmonious and collaborative relationships among the religious communities in Palangka Raya.  Paper ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis interaksi sosial antara elit agama di Palangka Raya. Fokus kajian dalam tulisan ini terkait dengan pola interaksi elit agama, faktor pendorong interaksi, dan implikasi interaksi antara elit agama terhadap kehidupan sosial antar umat beragama di Kota Palangka Raya.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif.Untuk memperoleh data dilakukan dengan observasi dan wawancara.Hasil temuan dapat disimpulkan bahwa interaksi antarelit agama di Kota Palangka Raya ditopang oleh kekuatan integratif yang memungkinkan terjadinya hubungan harmonis antara elit agama.Kekuatan integratif tersebut adalah nilai-nilai budaya yang telah mengakar dan diwariskan secara turun-temurun khususnya pada masyarakat Dayak. Perbedaan agama dalam budaya Dayak tidak dipandang sebagai bentuk pertentangan, tetapi sebagai hak asasi dan pilihan pribadi setiap orang. Pada tataran ini pola interaksi yang akan terbentuk adalah bersifat solidaritas integratif. Hubungan yang harmonis antara elit agama kemudian berimplikasi pada kehidupan sosial antarumat beragama di Palangka Raya. Implikasi tersebut terutawa terwujudnya hubungan yang harmonis dan kolaboratif antarumat beragama di Palangka Raya.

Abstract

Covid-19 causes face-to-face learning cannot be carried out and is replaced by using online learning. Online learning causes new problems, especially in schools located in areas where internet access and transportation facilities are difficult, such as in Petuk Berunai, Palangka Raya City. Online learning in Petuk Berunai causes the teaching and learning process, especially in the aspects of reading and writing to experience problems. The effect is that many students have problems with reading and writing skills. Departing from these problems, this service activity aims to improve the reading and writing skills of elementary school students in Petuk Berunai, Palangka Raya City. This service is carried out using an Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. The implementation of the literacy improvement program in the Petuk Berunai was carried out in four steps. First, conduct a reading ability test for students. Second, divide the class. Third, the implementation of the program starts from August 5 to 26, 2021. The learning program is carried out every Monday to Thursday. Meanwhile, from Friday to Sunday, motivational learning is carried out with a religious approach. Fourth, evaluate students' reading and writing abilities. Based on the comparison of pre-test and post-test assessments, it can be concluded that this service activity has been carried out well and that it has succeeded in improving the reading and writing skills of elementary school students in Petuk Berunai, Palangka Raya.Kata Kunci: Literasi Aksara, Petuk Berunai, Asset Based Community Development (ABCD)

Abstract

This article aims to analyze symbolic da'wah through the weaving motifs of Malay Sambas, West Kalimantan. This study uses an interpretive paradigm with a semiotic method. The data sources in this study were 22 motifs of Sambas Malay woven fabric. Data was obtained through observation and interviews. The data obtained were then analyzed using the semiotic triangle meaning model of Charles Sander Peirce. This study finds that the woven fabric motif is formed through a long process and closely relates to the socio-cultural construction of the Sambas Malay society. At this level, the Sambas Malay weaving motif is created from three elements: beauty, cultural identity, and the ethnoreligious reality of the Sambas Malay society, and efforts to internalize Islamic teachings in Sambas Malay life through the meaning and symbolic message of the motif. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Sambas Malay weaving motif is not only a cultural product of the Sambas Malay society but also a symbolic da’wah medium in the Sambas Malay society through a cultural approach.
