Binder carboxy methyl cellulose (CMC) biasa digunakan dalam formulasi pakan udang, tetapi mempunyai harga mahal dan tidak memberi dampak terhadap penambahan nutrisi pakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan bahan binder pengganti CMC yang lebih murah dan memberi dampak penambahan nutrisi dalam pakan udang. Dosis perlakuan binder tepung rumput laut dalam pakan uji sebesar 5% (P1), 10% (P2), 15% (P3), dan 20% (P4). Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan lima perlakuan dan tiga ulangan, antara lain (P0) binder CMC sebagai kontrol dan (P1-P4) binder tepung rumput laut. Pakan perlakuan diuji kadar air, protein, dan lemaknya dengan metode analisis proksimat. Hasil nilai kadar air pada P0 (3,3%), P1 (3,8%), P2 (4,2%), P3(6%), dan P4 (6,3%), kadar protein pada P0 (40,40%), P1 (28,43%), P2 (40,40%), P3 (32,90%), dan P4 (28,40%), kadar lemak pada P0 (9,97%), P1 (9,98%) dan P1-P4 (9,97%). Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan penambahan binder CMC dibandingkan dengan perlakuan penambahan binder tepung rumput laut tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap penambahan nutrisi pakan udang. Hasil tersebut membuktikan bahwa tepung rumput laut dapat menggantikan CMC sebagai binder dalam formulasi pakan udang.The binder, carboxy methyl cellulose (CMC), is commonly used in shrimp feed formulations, but it is expensive and has no impact on adding feed nutrition. This experiment aimed to find a binder substitute for CMC that is cheaper and has the effect of adding nutrients to shrimp feed. The doses of binder from seaweed meal treatment in the test feed were 5% (P1), 10% (P2), 15% (P3), and 20% (P4). This study used a completely randomized design with five treatments and three replications, including (P0) CMC binder as a control and (P1-P4) seaweed meal binder. The test feed were tested for water, protein and fat content using the proximate analysis method. Results of water content in P0 (3.3%), P1 (3.8%), P2 (4.2%), P3 (6%), and P4 (6.3%), protein content in P0 (40 .40%), P1 (28.43%), P2 (40.40%), P3 (32.90%), and P4 (28.40%), lipid content in P0 (9.97%), P1 (9.98%) and P1-P4 (9.97%). This experiment showed that the treatment with the addition of CMC binder compared to the treatment with the addition of seaweed meal binder did not have a significant effect on the addition of nutrients to shrimp feed. These results proved that seaweed meal can replace CMC as a binder in shrimp feed formulations.
