Abstract

During the postpartum period, the ability to adjust is very important, less than optimal adjustments can cause the mother to experience various problems such as postpartum blues, postpartum depression, postpartum psychosis. The mother's reaction after giving birth will affect her attitude, behavior, and emotional level. Psychological stress after childbirth is an emotional and emotional symptom, where a person feels moody, can't sleep, is excessively physically exhausted, and doesn't know what to do with his new role. The purpose of this community service is to empower the community for cadres and postpartum mothers in increasing knowledge about preventing psychological problems in postpartum mothers. The method of implementing this service activity is to use a model of increasing partnerships with health cadres and postpartum mothers by providing health promotion education about preventing psychological problems and postnatal health screening. This activity was carried out in May 2022 with 23 participants participating. The results of Community Service showed that before the extension, the majority of respondents had sufficient knowledge of 48% and the minority had good knowledge of 39%. While the results of the evaluation of activities after being given counseling on psychological adaptation of postpartum mothers, the majority of respondents had good knowledge of 78% and the minority had sufficient knowledge of 13%. Conclusion There is an increase in knowledge about the psychological adaptation of postpartum mothers. This community empowerment activity can be used as health promotion regarding the prevention of postpartum psychological problems as an effort to improve maternal health after childbirth.

Abstract

Mother's Milk is the ideal food for the growth and development of babies. in Indonesia the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding is still far from the national target of 80%, health education activities for pregnant women related to knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding, the benefits of breastfeeding for babies and mothers, nutritional and psychological preparation and practicing proper breastfeeding being solution The right way to prepare yourself from the start so that pregnant women can provide exclusive breastfeeding, his community service is carried out at the Bara-Baraya Community Health Center, Makassar City. The service method is interactive participation accompanied by lectures, questions and answers, discussions, and roleplay. As a result of this service, we get enthusiastic pregnant mothers who actively ask questions, so they are committed to providing exclusive breast milk to their babies, thus this health education is an effective effort to increase knowledge among pregnant women. It is recommended that health workers can carry out health education on an ongoing basis considering that there are still pregnant women who have insufficient knowledge about the importance of preparing for exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

Postnatal depression is a disorder that occurs in mothers after giving birth. This disorder occurs in her mood, this condition can cause the mother to be easily sad, tired, irritable, cry for no apparent reason, easily anxious and have difficulty concentrating. The worst condition a mother can experience is when she hurts herself or even her baby. The aim of community service is to increase public knowledge about postnatal depression and how to prevent it. The method for organizing PKM is lectures/counseling, discussions and questions and answers with activities providing material related to postnatal depression and its prevention. This activity was attended by 26 participants who were postpartum mothers. Results: mothers were very enthusiastic and active in asking questions, the level of knowledge of postpartum mothers before being given education about postpartum depression was at sufficient knowledge and after being given education increased to high to good knowledge. Health education regarding the prevention of postnatal depression in postpartum mothers needs to be carried out continuously in order to reduce the incidence of postnatal depression and requires the role and support of husbands to provide special attention to reduce the incidence. from postpartum depression.
