Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi tentang pendidikan karakter berbasis nilai filosofi Tongkonan yang berlaku di SD Kristen Makale 1 di Tana Toraja. Metode yang di gunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh bahwa (1) pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter pada era new normal dilaksanakan secara online dan tatap muka yang dibagi dalam 2 sesi. (2) Terdapat pendidikan karakter berbasis filosofi Tongkonan yaitu karakter religius, jujur, tekun, disiplin, peduli, karapasan, kerja keras, kasianggaran, kasiuluran. Pendidikan karakter dilaksanakan melalui morning devision dan ibadah rutin secara virtual. Melakukan tongkon bagi yang berduka kemudian adanya bentuk kepedulian melalui carring Piggy Bank dan  Penanaman karakter khusus  yang di berikan pada siswa melalui petua. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa di sekolah tersebut menerapkan pendidikan karakter yang berbasis nilai-nilai filosofi Tongkonan yang terdapat dalam kearifan lokal Toraja. Sehingga pentingnya pendidikan karakter pada era new normal di sekolah dasar yang dapat dikaitkan  dengan budaya lokal.

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengidentifikasi pendidikan karakter berbasis nilai filosofi tongkonan yang terdapat di SDN 2 Rantepao yang terletak di Toraja Utara. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara serta dokumentasi. Teknik yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data menggunakan model Miles and Huberman yaitu Pengumpulan data data reduction, data display, dan conclusion drawing/verification. Lokasi penelitian yang dipilih yaitu SDN 2 Rantepao yang terletak di Toraja Utara. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah pendidikan karakter di SDN 2 Rantepao dilaksanakan secara tatap muka persesi maupun secara online. nilai Karapasan (Perdamaian dan kerukunan) dalam pembelajaran pada era new normal yaitu yang berkaitan dengan perdamaian dan kerukunan yang selalu dilakukan oleh siswa. nilai Kasianggaran seperti mengucapkan kata tabe’ yang merupakan ciri khas di SDN 2 Rantepao yang dilakukan oleh siswa maupun guru. Nilai kasiuluran dilaksanakan melalui kegiatan yang dinamakan pa’wai mata, kegiatan Tongkon maupun kegiatan ma’ karamman. Penanaman pendidikan karakter dapat dikaitkan dengan nilai-nilai budaya lokal. Sehingga pentingnya karakter berbasis budaya lokal seperti nilai-nilai yang terdapat dalam Tongkonan.

Abstract

The Competence of The Eleventh Grade Students at SMA Negeri 5 Tana Toraja in Using Simple Past Tense. Thesis English Department Teacher Training and Education Faculty Christian University of Indonesia Toraja. The objective of this research is to find out the competence of the eleventh grade students at SMA Negeri 5 Tana Toraja in using simple past tense. The writer used written test. In order to achieve the objective of this study, The writer used quantitative method. Population from this research is all of the eleventh grade students at SMA Negeri 5 Tana Toraja with the total of students is 264 and divided eight classes. The writer used random sampling. The object of this research was 40 students of the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Tana Toraja academic year 2017/2018. The result of the data analysis shows that the competence of the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Tana Toraja in using simple past tense got mean score of 47,75. It means that the competence of the students is very bad category.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are (1) to find out the methods are used by the lecturer in English Language Teaching for the fourth semester students of Management department at UKI Toraja, (2) to find out the students’ perceptions toward the method in English Language Teaching for the fourth semester students of Management department at UKI Toraja. The informants of this study were the fourth semester students of Management Department who had programmed English courses. The writer used snowball sampling to collecting data. There are 16 students as research informants. The writer collected the data by conducting semi-structural interviews. After transcribe the interview result, the writer apply qualitative method by Miles and Huberman technique in order to analyze the data. The data was collected from the fourth semester students of Management Department at UKI Toraja still active in that university. There were 16 students who have been interviewed and they have programmed English courses. The interview was held in Tana Toraja, on Wednesday 15th July 2020 untill on Tuesday 21st July 2020. The resut of this research are the methods used by lecturer in English Language Teaching in the fourth semester students of Management Department at UKI Toraja are reading methods and the silent way while the student’s perceptions toward the method used by lecturer in English Language Teaching in the fourth semester students of Manegement Department at UKI Toraja is Negative perception the methods are less effective in English Language Teaching, students felt bored, students felt scared and nervous in English Language Teaching and sometimes do not understand the material taught by the Lecturer. Based on the results above, the writer concludes that there are two methods are used by English lecturer in English Language Teaching and there are some perception (Negative Perception) from the students as mention above.

Abstract

Ke’te’ Kesu merupakan salah satu situs warisan budaya tertua adat Toraja. Terletak di wilayah Lembang La’bo’, Kecamatan Sanggalangi, Kabupaten Toraja Utara. Terletak tidak jauh dari jantung kota Rantepao. Meskipun menjadi salah satu objek wisata primadona khususnya para wisatawan mancanegara dengan akses dan sarana yang memadai, Ke’te’ Kesu’ tidak luput dari kekurangannya. Setelah melakukan observasi di lokasi mitra yaitu lokasi wisata Ke’te’ Kesu’, kami menemukan beberapa permasalahan berdasarkan pengalaman pengajar terhadap peserta didik, antara lain rendahnya kemampuan bahasa Inggris bagi mitra dan warga setempat dalam berkomunikasi dengan wisatawan mancanegara. Atas permasalahan ini, tim PKM dari UKI Toraja berinisiatif berkoordinasi dengan pengelolah objek wisata setempat untuk melakukan kegiatan pelatihan bahasa Inggris dengan metode yang telah disiapkan tim pengajar yaitu melalui media flash card. Metode ajar yang efesien, menyenangkan dan mudah dipahami melalui sebuah kartu bergambar. Permasalahan peserta didik dalam mengikuti pelatihan bahasa Inggris yaitu: 1) terbatasnya pengetahuan dan wawasan mengenai metode pembelajaran melalui media; dan 2) rendahnya pengetahuan terkait akses sumber belajar bahasa Inggris. Oleh Karena itu melalui kegiatan PKM ini diharapkan dapat memberikan solusi bagi para guide cilik dalam hal ini sebagai target peserta untuk menambah referensi/literasi mereka khususnya literasi dalam bentuk media pembelajaran. Solusi yang ditawarkan untuk menyelesaikan masalah mitra adalah: 1). Memberikan pelatihan terkait akses sumber belajar bahasa Inggris menggunakan flash card berbasis kearifan lokal; 2). memberikan pelatihan mengenai penggunaan flash card dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Metode unik untuk pengenalan kosakata. Kegiatan ini akan dilaksanakan tahun 2022 selama 6 bulan dengan banyaknya pertemuan 3 kali dalam seminggu.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to ensure the challenges and opportunities obtained by students who have followed the MBKM program, especially on the teaching campus program that students follow. The researchers conducted qualitative research method. A purposive sampling strategy is used to obtain data from three (3) students in the English education study program. The findings show that students gain opportunities for discipline and responsibility, increase confidence in teaching students, be fluid and creative in the use of learning media, be creative in improving student literacy, make a lesson plan (RPP) and make sketches and issues, build good communication by understanding the character of students, improve communication through discussion in solving a problem, teach directly and cooperate with the other teacher in carrying out the teaching process, obtain value conversion as a result of learning, obtain assistance in cost of living during the implementation of the program, and obtain UKT assistance in the semester during the implementation of the program. In addition, the findings also found the challenges faced: a lack of interest in learning and student enthusiasm for lessons, the skill and character of students that are different surgeries, limited school facilities, a lack of materials and funds that can be taught, miscommunication with the teacher and colleagues participating in the campus program teaching in the field, a less disciplined environment and the absence of the teaching schedule given by the teacher to teach independently in the classroom.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that hit the world in the midst of the digital era has resulted in setbacks in various aspects, especially the education and entrepreneurship sectors. Edupreneurship based on local wisdom is expected to be one of the answers and solutions to increase the rate of economic growth affected by the post-pandemic. Through learning that focuses on local values, ideas, and culture to create a character who is resilient, wise, skilled and innovative so as to produce new business opportunities and breakthroughs. The Edupreneurship course is compulsory and is taught in semesters three, five and seven at the UKI Toraja English Study Program as a form of manifestation of the vision and mission of the English study program. The general purpose of the Edupreneurship course is that after the end of learning this course, students are expected to be able to master and practice values and attitudes related to entrepreneurship education. For example, characters with integrity, enthusiasm, not easy to give up, accomplished, independent, earned, and test-resistant in facing various conditions. To achieve these general goals, of course, various aspects of the learning process must be considered and prepared by teachers. These things are the elaboration and achievement of specific objectives of each sub-topic of the material, teaching and learning activities, the use of media and teaching tools, the implementation of teaching strategies, and up to the evaluation stage. The result of the purpose of this research is to identify the strengthening of students' learning needs in facing the digital era through edupreneurship based on local wisdom. The method used in this study is a qualitative method. This research will focus on efforts to create entrepreneurship education products based on local wisdom values. In collecting data, researchers will use qualitative research instruments. After conducting data analysis, the researcher will draw a conclusion about "Edupreneurship based on Toraja Local Wisdom as Strengthening the Learning Needs of Students in the Digital Era".
