Abstract

This research aims to build the imagination of tourists through travel experiences in the cultural heritage tourism area. The author analyzes the imagination gained by tourists using seven factors: lodging and dining facilities, internal accessibility, nearby attractions, external accessibility, safety and emergency systems, on-site attractions and the provision of information services. Data collection by observation, interview, FGD, documentation, and literature study through descriptive qualitative data analysis. The results showed that the myth of the bathing pool was the most dominant in building the imagination of tourists and became the main reason for tourists visiting Tamansari. Generally tourists can imagine the myths conveyed by tour guides and tend to portray Tamansari as a beautiful place in the past. Travel experiences gained by tourists during a tour in Tamansari are myths, history, and activities at the location. The most dominant factors that build the imagination of tourists through travel experience are (1) external accessibility (2) attraction factors in places where myths (3) nearby attractions

Abstract

This research is a quantitative research using survey method. The locations of the research are in the three tourist objects including Goa Cemara Beach, Kuwaru Beach, and Pandansimo Baru Beach. This study aims to analyze the tourist characteristics in the three research location and to learn how to formulate a plan for the most appropriate for tourism products at three locations sights. The approach used to analyze the tourist characteristics is the four elements of market segmentation: geographic, socio- demographic, psychographic, and behavioral. The samples of the research are 156 respondents with the margin of error 8% done using purposive sampling technique during March to April 2015 in the three research locations. The data collection was taken by questionnaires, observation, and documentation. Once the data is collected and processed with quantitative analysis using statistical tools, frequency distribution, and cross table (crosstabs). The result shows that the geographic characteristics of tourists in the three locations are balanced between tourists from outside and inside Bantul Regency. Then, the socio- demographic characteristics of tourists in Goa Cemara Beach and Pandansimo Baru Beach are dominated by private employees/BUMN(state-owned corporation), aged 22-60 years old, married and repeater tourist, while tourists in Kuwaru Beach are dominated by students, under 22 years old, single status and first comer tourists. Furthermore, in terms of psychographics, tourists in the three locations who have psychocentric characteristics prefer to get something plural, popular, and like to do common activities with the frequency of short stay visit. Lastly, the behavior of tourists in the three research locations is dominated by doing recreation or having leisure time to enjoy the main attractions of coastal landscape. The results of tourist characteristics of these three locations are used as the basis for planning of thematic tourism products in accordance with the character of the three research objects. Abstract

Every generation of human has unique experience use information and communication technology. Each generation has different characteristics, such as knowledge, experience and expertise in interacting with the media access to information not only electronic media but also print media and online media. This research is a kind of quantitative research with survey research method. The research location in 10 tourism destination in Bantul: Banyunibo Waterfall in Pajangan, Mangunan, Pine Forest, Siluk Suspension Bridge in Imogiri, Geospatial Coastal Dune Sand in Parangtritis, Becici Hill in Dlingo, Pulosari Waterfall in Pajangan, Watu Lumbung in Parangtritis, Tri Panjung Hill in Dlingo, Lepo Lake in Dlingo, and Mangunan Hill in Dlingo. Sampling using non probbably sampling technique because the population in this research is not known for certain. This is due to the absence of data collection of visitor tourist by the local government. Sampling was conducted during May-September 2016 at 10 tourism destination. The collection of data taken with questionnaires, observation, and documentation library. Once the data is collected and processed by quantitative analysis using statistical tools, frequency distributions and cross tables (crosstabs). Abstract

The era of information and communication technology provides opportunities and convenience for tourists to meet their needs of self-actualization by telling their experiences through writing, so-called travel writing. Travel writing can be used as a source of information to guide some potential tourists in planning their travels. Furthermore, it can also increase the number of domestic tourists’ visit to several tourist destinations spread across the nation. This research, through the descriptive qualitative approach, aims to thoroughly describe the phenomenon of the use of travel writing as the source of travel information. The informants in this research were 7 people. The data were collected through in-depth interview and questionnaire. The research results shows that magazines, newspapers and web portals have high credibility, while travel blogs have an objective and reliable. There were 5 characteristics of travel writing which expected by the reader such as simple writing, clear language, photo display, facts, and have value of benefits. Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had an extraordinary impact on the tourism sector. This paper examines tourism organizations and institutions in responding by studying data and actions that have been taken in the DIY area during the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. What tourism organizations and institutions have done in DIY can later be learned and can be adopted and applied in various regions in Indonesia. The research location focuses on the Special Region of Yogyakarta as one of the main tourism destinations in Indonesia. This study uses data collection methods in the form of primary data from field observations and interviews conducted directly by the authors, as well as using various secondary data from reports in local media in the DIY area. The author uses a qualitative descriptive data analysis method and content analysis (content analysis) on mass media coverage regarding organizational policies and tourism institutions in DIY. The results of the study show that tourism is one of the sectors that was greatly affected during the Covid-19 virus pandemic. Tourism organizations and institutions in DIY have prepared various programs so that tourism in this area can recover soon as before.
