Abstract

ARV treatment adherence is necessary for successful treatment. Non-adherence in treatment can lead to failure of low virology first-line treatment regimens. This study aims to determine the factors associated with adherence of PLWHA in undergoing Antiretroviral (ARV) therapy at the VCT Clinic of Selasih Hospital, Pelalawan Regency. The study was quantitative in nature with a cross sectional approach. The population was all PLWHA who received ARV therapy as many as 116 people. The sample size of 54 respondents was taken using accidental sampling technique. Measuring instrument research questionnaire. Data analysis with chi square test. The results showed that the majority of high knowledge 41 respondents (75.9%) negative motivation as many as 34 respondents (63%), family did not support as many as 28 respondents (51.9%), There is a relationship between motivation (p=0.006) and family support (p=0.014) with PLWHA compliance in undergoing ARV therapy. It is concluded that the variables associated with adherence of PLWHA in undergoing ARV therapy are motivation and family support. It is recommended to respondents to be able to increase motivation and compliance in undergoing Antiretroviral (ARV) therapy by picking up drugs on time to the hospital and taking ARV drugs in a disciplined manner. Keywords: Antiretrovirals, Motivation, PLHIV, Knowledge

Abstract

Previous studies on Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) prevention have often emphasized knowledge dissemination and community participation without directly linking these behavioral interventions to measurable entomological outcomes. There remains a gap in evidence regarding the integration of self-awareness strategies with vector surveillance indicators such as the Container Index (CI) and the Free Larvae Index (ABJ). This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a community-based self-awareness survey combined with ovitrap training in controlling mosquito breeding as a preventive measure against DHF in Bulusan Village, Semarang City. This descriptive observational experimental study involved households selected through incidental sampling during routine Mosquito Nest Eradication (PSN) activities. Participants received training on installing simple ovitraps made from various household materials, which were monitored over one to two weeks. Entomological outcomes were assessed using CI and ABJ, supported by environmental observations and household interviews. The results revealed that all ovitrap types successfully detected mosquito larvae, with mineral water containers showing the highest Container Index (12.5%). This intervention led to an increase in ABJ, indicating improved mosquito control practices. The integration of behavioral self-awareness tools with low-cost entomological surveillance offers a promising model for community empowerment in DHF prevention. These findings suggest that collaborative efforts between communities and local health stakeholders can strengthen sustainable and environmentally friendly vector control strategies, particularly in endemic urban settings.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is an effect of health educationusing leaflet media in increasing the knowledge and the behavior of traders in Temanggung ‘CarFree Day’ as an effort in implementing health protocols to prevent the transmission of Covid 19Methods: The research applied pre-experimental design with one group pre-test post-test design. The number of samples is 48 respondents taken through purposive sampling techniqueResults: The results of univariate analysis showed that the respondents' knowledge increasedafter being given health education using leaflet media by 50% for each of good and sufficientknowledge. On the other side, the respondents' behavior increased by 41.7% good, 35.3%adequate, and 23% lack. The difference in the score of the knowledge level before and afterbeing given health education intervention using leaflet media was Z = -1,957, p <0.05), while onthe behavior aspect was Z = -2,283, p <0 , 05). Conclusion: Thus, it can be concluded that there is an increase in the knowledge and thebehavior of traders in the Temanggung ‘Car Free Day’ in implementing health protocols toprevent the transmission of Covid 19
