Abstract

The Mandiri Community Partnership Program (PKM) “Training on Vegetable Waste Treatment as Duck Feed in South Ternate District” will be conducted with the partner farmer groups of Buku Sasa Mandiri cand find out about processing vegetable waste duck feed with nutritional content according to the needs of ducks based on the maintenance. The PKM Mandiri Community Partnership Program is carried out with the objectives of (1) Breeders can utilize vegetable waste as duck feed which is widely available in Ternate and its availability is very abundant; (2) Duck breeders do not depend on manufacturer’s feed which is very expensive; (3) Breeders have the ability to formulate vegetable waste as duck feed. The target achieved from the Independent Community Partnership Program (PKM) is that farmer can process vegetable waste that is a problem for the environment into animal feed, so as to reduce feed costs. The results from PKM Mandiri show that farmers can make processing of vegetable waste into duck feed physically and with fermentation techniques, so that partner groups do not depend on manufactured feed. The quality of the feed produced meets the standard needs of ducks, so that it can produce optimal growth an production.

Abstract

Rice bran is one of the feed ingredients that is cheap, easy to obtain and its availability does not compete with human needs. The nutritional content of bran is good enough to be used as animal feed, especially native chickens, but rice bran has a very high crude fiber content. The purpose of the Rice Bran Fermentation Training Using EM4 for Village Chicken Feed is to help farmers to provide cheap and quality feed ingredients with simple innovations through fermentation technology, improve livestock skills for processing feed ingredients, so as to reduce the dependence of farmers on commercial feed. The output to be achieved in this service activity is that farmers can make their own feed by means of fermentation for poultry, especially native chickens. The results obtained in this service show that livestock groups can provide fermented feed for poultry, especially free-range chickens, farmers are not dependent on commercial feed and increased production, especially meat and eggs, is increasing, so that farmers’ incomes become optimal.

Abstract

Cultivation of chicken Kampung Unggul Balitnak (KUB) is carried out with the aim of meeting the community’s need free native chicken meat. Through the Partnership Community Program (PKM) training activities for KUB chicken cultivation based and fermented feed were carried out, which in this activity began with the Socialitization of KUB Chicken Cultivation covering maintenance, feeding and disease prevention. The Cultivation system that is applied to the partner's livestock group in this PKM activity is carried out intensively, so that its maintenance can be directly controlled by the breeder. Besides training in the manufacture of fermented feed, farmers can provide quality feed and meet nutrient standards for growth and production. The result of PKM is that the Partner Livestock Group can develop intensive KUB chicken cultivation with feed produced or formulated by farmers, so as to reduce the use of factory feed.

Abstract

Training on broiler cultivation in Independent Livestock Groups is carried out with the aim that livestock groups understand broiler cultivation techniques, namely breeding, feeding and management, so as to produce optimal production and increase the economic income of livestock groups.The main problem that is often faced by broiler breeders, especially in the city of Ternate, is the high price of feed and limited availability, so many farmers are out of business.Through this activity, training is carried out on how to make broiler feed from locally available feed ingredients, easy to obtain, does not compete with human needs and the price is affordable for breeders, so as to produce quality rations and meet the standard of nutrient requirements for broiler growth. Formulation and techniques for making feed through training are carried out in a way that is simple and easy for farmers to understand.
