Abstract

This research is a descriptive research. The purpose of this research was to analyze the relationship between  POGIL model and van Hiele learning in an effort to increase the level of students' geometrical thinking. This research was implemented in one of junior high school in Bandung. The population in this research was grade VII students. The sample consisted of 63 students. Data level of students' geometrical thinking obtained through test techniques. Test questions are arranged based on indicators from each level. The data collection technique was carried out using the triangulation method. The data analysis technique was descriptive. Steps in this research are identifying the problem, reviewing the literature, arranging the instrument, collecting the data, analyzing the data and making the conclussion. This research shows the relation betwenen POGIL model and van Hiele Learning. They are (1) engage dan elicit steps in POGIL discribes inquiry step in van Hiele learning, (2) explore step discribes direct orientation step, (3)  explanation step discribes explication step, (4) elaborate & extend steps discribes orientation step, (4) evaluation step discribes integration step.

Abstract

This research is quasi experiment with research design "Posttest Only Control Group Design" which aims to determine the application influence of collaborative learning models on the critical thinking ability students i.e. case study on grade VIII even semester SMP 1 Kelumbayan Barat Tanggamus. Sampling techniques using Cluster Random sampling. The research sample consists of two classes, namely one class experiment class i.e. grade VIII B as many as 39 students and one class control class VIII A as many as 40 students. Data collection techniques are obtained through mathematical critical thinking tests, observations, and interviews. Based on the results of the analysis obtained that tcount = 3.39. Distribution table, at the level of 5% obtained tdaf = 1,667 and at the level of 1% tdaf = 2,382. Proven tcount > ttable. It can be concluded that the collaborative learning model affects the ability of mathematical critical thinking students. The average mathematical critical thinking ability of students who use the collaborative learning model is higher than the average mathematical critical thinking ability of students who use the conventional learning model.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa SMP dengan pendekatan pembelajaran Problem Centered Learning. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain kelompok kontrol pretes-postes. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII di satu SMP di kota Bandung sebanyak 62 siswa. Dalam penelitian ini terdapat dua kelas, yaitu kelas kontrol sebanyak 31 siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional dan kelas eksperimen sebanyak 31 siswa memperoleh pendekatan pembelajaran Problem Centered Learning. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan secara keseluruhan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa yang memperoleh pendekatan embelajaran Problem Centered Learning lebih baik dari siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the differences of the improvement of students mathematical creative thingking skill using open ended. This research used quasi experimental method whith pretest-posttest control group. The subjects of this research were 60 students at class VII in one of the MTs in Bandar Lampung city. There are two classess in this study namely the experimental class consisted of 30 students getting open ended learning models and the second control class consisted of student getting scientific approach. The instrument of this study used student creative thingking skill test, based on mathematical creative thingking indicator. The result of this study showed all of improvement of mathematical creative thingking students ability getting open ended learning model was not better then students getting scientific approach.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi matematis peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan soal berorentasi PISA berdasarkan komponen konten, konteks, dan proses. Penelitian dilaksanakan di salah satu SMP di Bandar Lampung. Sampel pada penelitian ini diambil berdasarkan observasi awal peneliti dengan menggunakan instrumen tes, sehingga subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 8 orang untuk masing-masing soal, sehingga terdapat 32 peserta didik. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode penelitian menggunakan penelitian deskriptif. Teknik pengambilan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen tes literasi matematis berorientasi PISA berdasarkan komponen konten, konteks, dan proses. Data yang dianalisis dengan mengamati tahapan bagaimana peserta didik dalam memecahkan masalah yang diberikan berdasarkan tahapan pada indikator penyelesaian masalah PISA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kemampuan literasi matematis peserta didik telah menguasai level literasi matematis PISA hingga level 3. Sedangkan dari 32 peserta didik hanya 3 peserta didik yang tidak menguasai literasi matematis PISA level 1.Kata kunci: literasi matematis, prestasi siswa, PISA, siswa SMP Abstract: This study aims to describe the mathematical literacy abilities students in solving PISA-oriented questions based on content, context, and process components. The research was conducted at a junior high school in Bandar Lampung. The sample in this study was taken based on the researcher's initial observations using test instruments, so that the subjects in this study were as many as 8 people for each question, so there were 32 students. In this study the researchers used a qualitative approach. The research method uses descriptive research. The data collection technique in this study used the PISA-oriented mathematical literacy test instrument based on the components of content, context, and process. The data were analyzed by observing the stages of how students solve the problems given based on the stages of the PISA problem solving indicator. The results showed that the average mathematical literacy ability of the students had mastered the PISA mathematical literacy level up to level 3. Meanwhile, out of 32 students, only 3 students did not master PISA mathematical literacy level 1. Keywords: mathematical literacy, student achievement, PISA, junior high school students

Abstract

Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa dengan mengacu padaindikator kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan secara keseluruhan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran open ended tidak lebih baik dari siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik.

Abstract

This research was carried out with the aim of knowing the arithmetic sequences and sequence patterns found in the game of marbles and hide and seek at Bhakti Mulya Middle School. This type of research is qualitative research with an interactive qualitative design, namely ethnographic field studies in collecting data directly from the natural environment. The research was conducted in 3 meetings. The data techniques used in this research are observation, interviews, and documentation which are analyzed using the interactive model data analysis technique proposed by Miles and Huberman, namely data, data reduction, data display, and data. taking. The results of the research show that: (1) there is a pattern of counting rows and arithmetic sequences in the game of marbles and hide and seek at Bhakti Mulya Middle School where the application of these concepts is applied naturally without studying the mathematical concepts of the Bhakti Mulya Middle School community, (2) there is a meaning in the use of kandaure in every Toraja community activities include ramba solo' activities which are used as decorations in traditional ceremonies, decorations in the Bhakti Mulya Middle School mortuary, complementary accessories for Toraja traditional clothing at death ceremonies, and tuka signs used as wedding ceremony decorations and complementary accessories for Toraja traditional clothing. at weddings or dances, (3) there is a connection between mathematics learning and arithmetic sequence patterns in marbles and hide-and-seek games at Bhakti Mulya Middle School, especially in the arithmetic sequences and series material studied at school. Thus, it can be ignored that the counting row pattern and series of marble and hide and seek games at Bhakti Mulya Middle School have a connection with mathematics learning and also have useful meaning in every activity of the Bhakti Mulya Middle School community.
