Abstract

This research is a descriptive research. The purpose of this research was to analyze the relationship between  POGIL model and van Hiele learning in an effort to increase the level of students' geometrical thinking. This research was implemented in one of junior high school in Bandung. The population in this research was grade VII students. The sample consisted of 63 students. Data level of students' geometrical thinking obtained through test techniques. Test questions are arranged based on indicators from each level. The data collection technique was carried out using the triangulation method. The data analysis technique was descriptive. Steps in this research are identifying the problem, reviewing the literature, arranging the instrument, collecting the data, analyzing the data and making the conclussion. This research shows the relation betwenen POGIL model and van Hiele Learning. They are (1) engage dan elicit steps in POGIL discribes inquiry step in van Hiele learning, (2) explore step discribes direct orientation step, (3)  explanation step discribes explication step, (4) elaborate & extend steps discribes orientation step, (4) evaluation step discribes integration step.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a difference in the average learning outcomes of mathematics and which one was the higher average of mathematics learning outcomes between students who used Problem Based Learning and Problem Solving learning methods. This type of research is experimental. The data analysis technique uses the ttes formula. The results show that: (1) there is a difference in the average learning outcomes of mathematics between students who use the Problem Based Learning and Problem Solving learning methods at SMPN 2 Metro, it is known that based on the calculation of the hypothesis test obtained thit = 2.60 and tdaf = 2 ,00 so thit > tdaf. (2) the average learning outcomes of students who use the Problem Based Learning learning method are higher than the Problem Solving learning method in mathematics learning for class VIII.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of students' mathematical understanding skills using instructional video media. This research was conducted at one SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung Bintang, South Lampung 2021/2022. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII consisting of an experimental class and a control class, each of which was opened by 30 students. The samples were taken in this study using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection in the form of pretest and posttest. Pretest and posttest were used to measure mathematical understanding ability. The results showed an increase in the mathematical understanding of the experimental class 81,187 and the control class 71,349 t test resulted in a value of sig (2-tailed ) = 0.000 < 0.05 then H0 was rejected so that the average score for increasing the understanding of mathematical concepts in the experimental class was better than the average score. control class improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of students' mathematical communication skills in online learning by using instructional video media. The study used a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects were students of class VIII in a private Junior High School in Bandar Lampung City. There are two classes in this study, namely the experimental class consisted of 33 students and the control class consisted of 33 students. The experimental class received online learning using instructional video media, while the control class used the method without giving intructional videos. The research instrument used a mathematical communication ability test. The results showed that the inprovement in mathematical communication skills in the experimental class was better than the control class

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the differences of the improvement of students mathematical creative thingking skill using open ended. This research used quasi experimental method whith pretest-posttest control group. The subjects of this research were 60 students at class VII in one of the MTs in Bandar Lampung city. There are two classess in this study namely the experimental class consisted of 30 students getting open ended learning models and the second control class consisted of student getting scientific approach. The instrument of this study used student creative thingking skill test, based on mathematical creative thingking indicator. The result of this study showed all of improvement of mathematical creative thingking students ability getting open ended learning model was not better then students getting scientific approach.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa dengan model pembelajaran open ended. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group. Subjek Penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII di salah satu MTs kota Bandar Lampung sebanyak 60 siswa. Dalam penelitian ini terdapat dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen sebanyak 30 siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran open ended dan kelas kontrol sebnyak 30 siswa memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa dengan mengacu padaindikator kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan secara keseluruhan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran open ended tidak lebih baik dari siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang penggunaan model team quis yang bertujuan untukimengetahuiiapakahiada pengaruh model pemebelajaran team quis terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa. Metode yang digunakan experimen yaitu dengan memberikan perlakuan berbeda terhadap dua kelompok siswa sample yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling, sedangkan untuk teknik pengumpulanm data menggunakan tes essay sebanyak 10 soal. Analisis data menggunakan t-tes. Hasil analisis data menunjukan bahwa t-hit = 2,74 sedangkan t-daf = 2.016 maka t-hit > t-daf. dari hasil tersebut dapatidisimpulkani bahwaiada pengaruhiyang positif penggunaan modeli pembelajarani team quis terhadapi kemampuani pemecahani masalahi matematikai siswa.

Abstract

Latar belakang masalah pada penelitian tindakan kelas ini adalah nilai rata-rata hasil belajar matematika kelas III SDN 2 Gunung Tiga pada kompetensii dasar melakukan perkalian yang hasilnya tiga, angka menunjukkan hasil yang kurang maksimal, dari jumlah siswa 15 orang hanya 5 siswa yang telah memenuhi kriteria ketuntasan minimal (KKM) sedangkan sisanya sebanyak 10 siswa belum memenuhi kriteria ketuntasam minimal. Upaya meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika pada materi perkalian dasar dengan penggunaan media pembelajaran jarimatika dan metode drill di siswa kelas III SD Negeri 2 gunung Tiga. Pelaksanaan perbaikan pembelajaran dilakukan 2 siklus. Pada siklus 1 terdapat kekurangan dalam penggunaan metode jarimatika yang diperbaiki pada siklus 2 sehingga kegiatan pembelajaran menjadi lebih efektif. Melalui dengan penggunaan media pembelajaran jarimatika dan metode drill siswa menjadi aktif dan interaktif sehingga kegiatan pembelajaran matematika menjadi lebih menyenangkan. Hal ini terlihat data hasil belajar siswa yang diperoleh pada prasiklus mencapai tingkat ketuntasan 33% kemudian pada siklus I mencapai Tingkat ketuntasan yaitu 57% dengan peningkatan ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa mencapa 24% kemudian pada siklus II hasil belajar siswa mencapai ketuntasan sebesar 93,3% sehingga selisih hasil belajar siswa dengan siklus I mencapai 36.3%Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan dengan penggunaan media pembelajaran jarimatika dan metode drill diharapkan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika materi perkalian dasar pada siswa kelas III SD Negeri 2 Gunung Tiga.

Abstract

Kesalahan konseptual dalam belajar aljabar, yang sering disebabkan oleh kesalahpahaman terhadap konsep dasar seperti variabel dan koefisien, menjadi penghalang signifikan bagi siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan jenis kesalahan konseptual yang sering dilakukan siswa saat belajar aljabar dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan melibatkan 25 siswa kelas XI MIPA yang akan menjadi subjek penelitian di MA Mathla'ul Anwar Kedondong pada semester ganjil tahun 2024/2025. Data dikumpulkan melalui ujian tertulis yang terdiri dari lima soal uraian. Analisis data menggunakan metode berikut: 1) mengoreksi jawaban siswa; 2) menemukan kesalahan dalam jawaban siswa; 3) menghitung persentase kesalahan; 4) menganalisis data hasil perhitungan secara deskriptif; dan 5) membuat kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase kesalahan siswa adalah: 1) Kesalahan yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya ketelitian dan kecerobohan sebesar 48%; 2) Kesalahan yang berkaitan dengan keterampilan dalam melaksanakan proses sebesar 32%; 3) kesalahan konseptual siswa sebesar 60%. Kesalahan konseptual siswa dapat dibagi menjadi dua kategori utama (indikator), yaitu kesalahan yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya pemahaman konsep terkait soal yang diberikan dan kesalahan akibat ketidakmampuan dalam menentukan hubungan yang ada dalam masalah. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kesalahan tersebut antara lain terburu-buru, kurangnya latihan, pemahaman yang terbatas, serta kurangnya konsentrasi saat mengerjakan soal.

Abstract

Considering the growing importance of mathematical literacy in the 21st century, this study provides an initial insight into improving future STEM-based learning models in mathematics education. The research aims to describe students’ mathematical literacy skills as a foundation for enhancing STEM-oriented instruction in higher education. The participants were students of the Mathematics Education Study Program enrolled in a Calculus course at a university in Lampung, Indonesia. Data were collected through a mathematical literacy test and a student response questionnaire. Data were analyzed using an independent sample t-test to identify students’ strengths and weaknesses in mathematical literacy. The results show that students’ mathematical literacy remains low. The average score was 20.67, with nearly half of the students (46.67%) scoring below the mean. The highest achievement was found in the problem formulation indicator (57.78%), followed by reasoning (49.33%), interpretation and representation (46%), and application (38.33%) as the lowest. These findings suggest that students are relatively capable of formulating mathematical problems but struggle to interpret, represent, and apply them in real-life contexts. Overall, students tend to focus on procedural calculations rather than meaningful connections between mathematics and real situations. Therefore, STEM-based learning innovations are needed to strengthen conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills. The positive student responses indicate that the approach used in this study successfully fostered engagement, motivation, and deeper mathematical literacy.
